Certainly there's room for different chemistry's to co-exist. Scale, cost, working environment, power density, lifetime/charge cycles are jusdt a few factors effecting optimal choice. Its been over 200 years since the first voltaic pile. There were less than 1B people on the planet back then and electricity was unheard of in daily life. Demand for storage and balance is only increasing
