Hello, Does an storage external HHD only powered up every 6 months have to be refreshed to another HHD every 3 to 5 years to prevent data loss? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.🙏
Hi there, thank you for your question! IF that hard drive isn't used frequently then there shouldn't be much of an issue with data loss typically HHD are replaced every 3-5 years when they are used everyday so if you aren't writing much data to the drive it should last longer but always have a backup to make sure data isn't lost.
