But EIon just did his usual scam to boost stock prices by announcing the deadwood project new car project and claims it will be coming to consumers in 2025. But he doesnt even have plant to build them yet.

I think not just the EV purchase price, but the cost of ownership is also a concern for EVs. For that reason, my next car will be a plug-in hybrid or just a hybrid. For people who lives in cold area without home charging or coastal areas that prone to flooding, owning EVs may have a problem. The recent widely publicized charging problems in Chicago and NY is a concern. High cost of body work and battery replacement are another problem. For that reason, insurance cost is high. The fact that you cannot find many garages to work on them is also a concern. We'll want to help environment but need to be at a reasonable cost. For that I drive a lot less and bike everywhere if I can. I hope Toyota will come up with a Prius Prime with 50 to 100 miles EV range with solid state battery one day.

We own a Tesla for 5 years now and literally 0 maintenance. Well, we pay for car washes if that counts. Combustion engine converts fuel to essentially 80-90% heat and the rest to actually moving the car. It's essentially a toaster on wheels, but honestly sounds great in winter only. Hybrid cost of repair cost are relatively higher than combustion but at least it can be still be charged at home assuming you're talking about plugin hybrid. But if you have a plugin at home, I'm confused why someone wouldn't just go with a EV, you don't ever have to go to a supercharger unless on roadtrips.

I believe Tesla made a mistake in not taking the initiative to train Hertz sales people on how to educate clients using Tesla cars. Further, Hertz could have come up with a reasonable model on returning vehicles battery charge. Insisting on a full charge is not a suitable model because people may not have that kind of time

US is not yet fully onboard with EV. There is still a lot of resistance. UAW wants to unionize all auto workers, states are still making anti EV laws, Tesla can’t even sell cars direct in the very state it builds them because of old franchise laws. Yet China is going full speed ahead and not dealing with any of this. If Tesla wants to make low cost EV cars it’s going to have to do it out of the US unfortunately.

EVs don’t get enough range. I’d like a Sienna Prime. Plus as was all over news a couple weeks ago, Teslas die in cold Winter Weather.

Enough range to do what? It’s a perfect commute car. When your plans are predictable. Not necessarily good for Uber or Hertz.

Tesla is literally developing a robot that will be qualified to substitute humans in many millions of positions in various industries worldwide and Tesla is also very far in developing a car that can literally drive itself almost perfectly and "investors" are worried about short-term car production and short-term margins?? This is beyond ridiculous. This is straight chicken head behavior.
