Simon, still remember the days when you got a blue paper twist of salt in the bag of crisps. They disappeared for a good while and then returned as salt and shake with a blue sachet of salt. Back in the day the variety of crisp flavours was severely limited. Cheese and Onion and Salt and Vinegar. Then Golden Wonder were the go to crisps.

I think the idea is that you pour the salt and pepper into the bag and give it a shake before you take any of the chicken out of the bag 🤭

Glad you liked the chicken balls. I tried them and whilst the coating was tasty enough, the chicken was mushy and very watery. Gave them more than enough cooking time. Just checked and they're only 58% chicken and the next ingredient is water! Maybe my batch had more water? I couldn't eat them and threw the lot away

You can still get salt & shake crisps, I buy them quite regularly. Surprising to me as a salt lover to find that I sometimes like them completely unsalted.

Hence ready salted crisps are 'already salted'..... My American pals don't understand and ask why not call them 'Salt crisps', or chips as they know them.

Finally brought a scissors to open the bag, instead of struggling to rip them open unevenly, which always gets at my OCD. Yes!

i had the normal chicken balls last night and agree on the quality. Ive got the salt and chilli still in freezer. with them, im going to nip over the Chinese in the street and buy a pot of sweet n sour sauce. These are pretty good especially on 3 for 10quid

Proper Salt and pepper chicken has been a favourite of mine for decades (Not the shredded, rubbery, chewing forever stuff).. over the last few years, the delivered food quality has dropped though. Why.. Are we not evolving anymore?

I thought the Gov in the 2000 said salt is BAD and to the manufacturers to cut down on it .

Made by Smiths in their factory in Great Yarmouth where I am from and still reside. I think Walkers took them over and shut down the factory 😥

There was a very good documentary on the crisp war and the walkers take over off the crisp market probably on RUclips

I expect the chicken in those products are actually already cooked. Where do you think the chinese takeaways get them from? They are wholesale pre frozen trash. They aren't making them themselves

Salt is a killer? 🤣 You must tells that to all the chefs and practically every form of cuisine in the world that uses salt as a flavour enhancer.
