note, the bulge does not contain a bomb sight and radar altimeter; it contains a ground mapping radar. Bomb sight is in the glass nose, while the Raltimeter is in the ventral fin As for Yak-25, it is the interceptor variant that is the original. And had swept wings from the get go. The straight wings were upgrade for the high alt recon.
Glad to see more WT videos. This thing is the last plane I have to unlock in the soviet tree, so I guess I will get it eventually. I'm just going to use it to replace my Il-28Sh as a cap point nuker in tank RB.
Well since i unlocked it, i unlocked my first module without being shot by anyone the only time i died was when i crashed while looking backwards coz i was stoned and listening music while playing. i dig this bomber a lot its actually my favorite bomber. and for what is about the harriers i didnt even met one in all the matches i did to unlock my compressor. that's pretty much what i had to say. have a good one and keep up the good work tim ur channel is dope and u explain very well. peace
I'm glad to see someone making content about planes that are bad and not in the meta. Most channels seem to be focused on the really meta and competitive planes and often end up being pretty hostile to bombers which I'm tired of. So it's nice to see someone who is actually willing to try out the planes we do know are gonna be shit and talk about them.
It may sound silly, but I absolutely LOVE the underdog planes in WT. It's quite a rush when you can actually pull off a good match in a sub-par plane. I'll have quite a few vids (as time allows me to make them) featuring some of the off-meta planes.
Got the yak28 a while back and i mostly agree with you, only thing i need to say.. this thing can be fun to dogfight f4c with.. the imense p/w ratio is what it makes strong paired with the initial landing flap turn at 600kph can troll a lot of players
3:26 as a SU7MBK enjoyer I have to say it really matters where in the map you fly first. For example I'll often fly to the middle and then fake head ons with people as to not get intercepted. Works wonders.
wow, amazing video. very informative but not too long and comes from a player perspective and not some spec sheet. love the effort of even recording its interception rate compared to its attacker equivalent. (plus love it when there's a little bit of history about the vehicle) Gonna watch all of your WT right now! side note. Lovely voice
I like this thing but it REALLY is suffering the lack of a proper PvE strategic gamemode on long range maps and the absolutely ass rewards of bombing targets. Hell gaijin keeps bumping that thing's repair cost *for some reason* to try and firmly borrow it in the ground. And yet I quite enjoy it when it isn't uptiered because of its acceleration. In fact, if you queue up with a buddy this plane is a superb distraction as your insane acceleration allow you to bait enemies into useless chases, waste their missiles (that you can often straight up outrun) and then lead to an easy kill. However the lack of options in this plane means its very one dimensional, and that dimension is constantly being hammered out by the developers for being the only consistent thing you can do in air RB when you aren't in the fighter meta.
I am so happy when I search for a WT vehicle review and see one from Tim! However, I am very bummed out by your final verdict as I think the Yak-28 looks super interesting and was looking forward to playing it. Oh well, on to the Mig-27 I guess.
Funny thing is, on 9.3 you have last of mig-17(f-5) and just sticking to the communist block yak-38. While mig-17s with missiles have no chance to catch it due to low climb speed(climb speed in card of yak-28 lies. Stock with afterburner climbs around 80m/s above 2km and go beyond 110 m/s above 6 km), max speed and flares. And if yak-38 fly similar to tech tree version it still would have some problems. I was upgrading my yak-28 yesterday and was never intercepted in air. Why? Cause above 6 km this thing fly supersonic(in stock) and harriers had problem to keep up. I was dying due to slowing down to land as sometimes AAA does not work. Still this plane is too little too late. And depending from player experience it might increase in repairs to standards of so.4050 or those 8.0/8.3 bombers. Oh and Bugs with wheels that can moves you left on right on airfield if you want to turn, as if your engiens would be facing left or right.
True, again i feel this is mainly due to how airRB is structured rather than the plane itself, because at 9.3 it would still serve a purpose with more specific, rewarded and spread out objectives. Once again i consider that the enduring confrontation is the only gamemode with some merit in that regard, for both simulator and realistic. Lets make a thought experiment. Lets say that gaijin decide to not be dumb, and update/improve enduring confrontation with the objective of making it a permanent addition to the matchmaker. When it comes to fighters I beleive the gamemode is already good enough (regular fighting, taking out bomber formations, spotter planes, air supremacy missions, ect...) but if gaijin figures out more then that's perfect. For attackers, i'd say there is also a lot of things but adding more varied targets (light, medium, heavy, SPGs, AA, armored cars and logis) to convoys and assaults could give the less fortunate attackers (those without a 50mm or above cannon or boatload of heat rockets) more things to get rid of during objectives. As for bombers, they already have way more meaningfull things to do than in realistic, but i feel that it actually somewhat diminishes with BR. As BR increase, so does base health, but the bombing load aslo tends to decrease, some bombers ending up having less bombing tonnage than fighters at the same tier. This is mainly because the strategic bombers of the modern era are all designed to carry nuclear weapons, but obviously this feature is not used. So I considered of a way they could. Bombers can chose to, instead of carrying a normal bombload, can equip a tactical nuclear bomb. The nuke fuse would not activate unless they are dropped within proximity of a specific bombing base. That base would be immune to regular bombing damage, only capable of being destroyed via its asigned nuke. the nuke would take at least 600sp to aquire, but would not cost SL to equip. For gamemodes with markers, the plane would be marked as a nuke carrier on its player tag. In both simulator and non simulator, a nuclear siren informs the players that a nuke carrier is now in the AO. If a player sucessfully manages to destroy their target, it would count as a mission complete and substract a similar ammount of tickets as winning an air supremacy. The bomber pilot would receive the "nuclear strike" medal, giving a large ammount of SL. Any fighter within a 7km radius of the bomber would receive a "escorting doomsday" giving SL to those who protected the bomber. Killing a nuclear bomber would grant the "nuclear intercept" medal, granting a large ammount of SL and causing an objective fail for the bomber's team. The bomber has a limited time to acheive the objective so cannot climb too high before the objective expires, but that time should be generous enough to allow flanking.
No really it would have been hard to intercept that the main idea the yak28 aint killing no one unless they’re completely brain dead, there only a reason the first jet bombers worked, they were fast that was it.
note, the bulge does not contain a bomb sight and radar altimeter; it contains a ground mapping radar.

3:38 Love it how politely he says that
My favorite description of this plane is that of Phlydaily: It's really good at going really fast in a straight line, and that's about it
And for looking good! Personally I think it's a gorgeous plane.

Honestly, that's probably the only thing it's good for (once the 3000kg bomb is grinded out, at least)
I love this thing, rarely get intercepted by it

Yeah the meta has changed a bit, the harriers are much less of an issue since they lost the air spawn.

Thanks Tim, I needed a good laugh.

Honestly the best thing about this plane is the looks.

just unlocked this thing and i am not a big fan, would be pretty decent if it could destroy at least 1 base per run tho.

I hope they add the interceptor version too one day to the game!
Omg this shit have a interceptor version?
Attack the d point!

Yaaaaa new video you deserve so many more subs
It's a really cool looking plane though.
Personally the Yak-28 is a lot better as a high altitude interceptor

yeah i always belly land and when it's below 100kph it can slide sideways & backwards because i force it to yaw
thanks for this. since seeing it, i go to 8k+ and slow down to around 500kph before i drop. pinpoint accuracy now. but JEEZ you gotta dodge harriers.
At the end of the video he pronounced gaijin like some fantasy book villain.
Gayagjin
Poor YAK-28B, DoA.
I think you could do work in ground RB, since you can't go mach on level flight and have to fly low.
Please do a video on the T90 shtora system and how it works in game and more specifically. What vehicles it works against and doesn’t work against.
Can you review the A32A? It's a ground attacker, but I use it in air RB.
Once I unlock it, but it'll be a while, I'm grinding for the J-35.
Bruh why’d they give av8 250 countermeasures as if it wasn’t crazy enough
6:55 this crash happens to me many times.
.. one of the reasons I try to mention the landing performance of the planes in these reviews :-)
ty for the video
Fab-3000... can it kill a base in one go? Does the Fab-3000 have 3000kg of tnt?
it has 1400kg of TnT equivelant. little more than enough to knock out a full base.
I barely play Russia any more - but I might enjoy that one.. Furballs egt annoying.. I like strike aircraft, fast bombers more..
Like if you read this Tim
**waves** I saw it, came up on my activity feed.
Well the thing is if you take away all the undertiered 9.3 and 9.7 planes, this thing would be total cancer to fight
You're not wrong. This review would have been MUCH different if the Yak-28B was at a lower BR.

Was the second round in rb or air arcade? Just wondering cus I saw a 3rd person bombsight and then saw the bombs that didn’t reload
All footage is air RB unless mentioned otherwise. The Yak-28B has the ballistics computer for the bombs.
@@TimsVariety ok thanks, I’m a propeller player currently grinding for jets so it was weird. Anyway thanks.
This thing's wings rip far too easily at low alt, it's basically useless
1 harrier watched.
Some fighters Cary more bombs than it 😂

Omg why i wasted my time on this... For arcade unplayable, for realistic 4 of 5 dead or miss base... Load is shi t
this thing is a heap of trash, but for some reason i can't get enough playing it as a bait. i guess it just runs in my veins
This jet is garbage, review over! It's really annoying to upgrade, and not only that but you need to research it to get tot he Mig-27
tldr: trash
i dont have any trouble making bombers work i get sick to death of all this bombers arent viable they need thier own game mode bullshit
