Love that Jesse Challinor project bag. Beautiful material. As I've said before, your quilts are beautiful and you are very fortunate to be able to venture in to making bags. Isabel
Hello Karen, so happy to see and hear your excitement about Sampler Symposium. Beautiful stitching as usual. I haven’t stitched on perforated paper yet but think that’s on my ‘to do’ list for this year. Best, Steph from Cheshire, England 😊
Wonderful video, Karen! I could feel your Attic excitement and energy through the screen! I visited there last April and I know exactly what you mean about walking through the door! It’s amazing! I am so lucky to have met Jean while I was there. What a beautiful light she was in this world! Hope you got to meet her while you were at the Symposium. Thank you for all of your sharing. I just love your quilt wall in your sewing room, too! ❤
Thank you so much for your kind words. I appreciate your constant support! I was lucky to meet Jean too. It was such a great experience to be with so many stitchers and to visit The Attic. Happy stitching. Best, K
Thank you for sharing your joy at the symposium. For those of us who can't get to retreats its such a pleasure to experience them through your reflections. Your WIPs are gorgeous, as usual. Happy stitching!
Thank you so much for your comment on my video. I hope you will find a retreat that is local to you someday. It is always wonderful to meet other stitchers. Happy stitching. Best, K
Thanks, I think so too! I'm really happy with how it turned out. Again, it came from stash. I am happy to have so many choices available to me. Happy stitching. Best, K
Your FFOs are beautiful. Congrats on finishing all the Beatles pieces. Ann Gott is just lovely. I really enjoyed hearing your first time experience at the Attic, and am glad you had a wonderful time. And yes, stash enhancement is very important! lol Your quilt wall is pretty. Take care, and happy stitching, Arleen
Karen, it was a pleasure meeting you at SS. Wow, what a weekend. The presentations were all so great. So glad you were able to see the Attic - hopefully your viewers can one day visit it also. This weekend has been hard to stitch but I did start Jean’ s Ersilia’s Sampler yesterday in memory of her love for red and 56ct. Til we meet again my friend, happy Stitching
It was so nice meeting you at the Symposium too, Susan! I hope to see you again at another event in the future. How appropriate that you are working on Ersilia's Sampler in memory of Jean. I feel fortunate that I was able to see her in person one time before she passed. I know there are many stitchers who have attended many Attic events who had really developed a friendship. Can't imagine how awful they feel. Happy stitching! Best, K
Your finishes are gorgeous so glad you had a great time at the retreat the quilt is also beautiful enjoy the videos will see ya on your next video take care
Hi, Friend, So glad you were able to attend Sampler Symposium. What a treat! I was sad to hear of Mrs. Jean's passing. She would want us to stitch on and keep encouraging others through our stitching. Take care.
Merritt, Thank you so much for your comment on my video. I am so happy that I was able to go to The Attic in time to see Jean once before she passed. I haven't seen you for a while. If you ever want to ride with me to Georgetown, let me know. We would love to see you. Happy stitching. Best, K
Hello Karen, I was so impressed by your sharing from the Sampler Symposium retreat. I could tell how much it meant to you - meeting your followers, reuniting with cross stitch friends, seeing Jean, God Bless Her, hearing the lectures and stitching with your table of friends. I saw that you had changed. Something in your countenance shifted. Your voice also was different. These were very subtle, but I did notice them. How wonderful for you and for all those people who could meet you too. I think because of your deep experience there, this was one of my favorite videos you have done. Thank you so much for your sharing. I am so glad to hear and. see this. Also I loved the Pineapple quilt behind you. Beautiful colors and marvelous piecing. I am not familiar with paper piecing, I have looked at it, but shied away because it requires a different way of thinking and y brain is not a flexible as it once was. I should probably do one just to stretch my brain's thinking. Thank you for sharing your quilts, your haul and your wonderful time at The Attic!
I was so happy to share my experience at the retreat with you, and thank you for noticing my change in demeanor, it was truly an amazing experience. I hope you can experience a retreat like that sometime. I would encourage you to give foundation paper piecing a try. It really gives a perfectly stitched finish to your blocks. The Fat Quarter Shop has many different blocks available, and they come in different sizes. The pineapple is a relatively simple one. I will be using Square in a Square on an upcoming quilt. I will try to record a tutorial. See you again soon. Happy stitching. Best, K
Your Jessie Challinor project bag is absolutely perfect! And Ann Gott isn't one I'd have chosen from the photo on the chart, but seeing it come to life - it's so stunning! And I love your verse. Have a wonderful weekend.
I was so looking forward to hearing about your experience at Sampler Symposium & it did not disappoint. Your face was beaming the whole time you talked about being there. I'm so glad you had such a good time. Made all the more special on this day that Jean's passing was announced RIP. I'm like you, having no LNS, so my dream someday is to visit a shop to see & feel fabrics in person. I have been disappointed with pieces I've got online that don't match the pictures. I absolutely understand how difficult it is to accurately present colours. Love the pineapple quilt behind you & your wall looks great. Take care, best wishes from 🇮🇪
Welcome back, my friend. So happy you could join me again. Your comment is so sweet. I debated about whether I should delete my video after I heard about Jean's death, but decided to just add a note. I did not want to be disrespectful, but also thought that my joy about being at The Attic was my best tribute. Happy stitching. Best, K
I feel very fortunate to have met her, and I cherish her memory. There are many stitchers who have attended many Attic events and developed a real friendship with her. I imagine they are feeling like they have lost a member of their family. It was a wonderful experience to attend SS2025. I am so happy that I went before she passed. See you next time. Best, K
Fun video, great quilting, I'm glad you were able to attend the Symposium & see dear sweet Jean. She will be missed by so many, yet always in our hearts.
Sarah, Thank you so much for your compliment on Yellow Submarine. We both put up videos before hearing about Jean's passing. I thought about deleting mine, but thought that my excitement over going to SS2025 was the best tribute I could give to Jean. See you again soon, my friend. Best, K
So glad you were able to go to the Attic. Thanks for sharing your experience, I am recovering from foot surgery and you have brightened my day with your beautiful stitches and quilts! Thank you for sharing!
Donna, I hope you have a quick and uncomplicated recovery from your surgery. I am happy to know that my video could give you a little relief. Take care of yourself. See you again next time. Best, K
Thank you for sharing your experiences at Sampler Symposium. It is wonderful to get together with other stitchers, and The Attic is on my list of places to visit! We had a LNS in my area that I found inspirational every time I walked in, seeing all of the finished pieces displayed. Your Anna Ohman is fabulous. Yes, stash is essential to my peace of mind. Happy stitching!
Thank you so much for your kind comment on my video. I really hope that you do get to The Attic sometime. There is nothing like seeing antiques and models in person. I am glad that you agree with me about stash. Birds of a Feather. Happy stitching. Best, K
Thank you for this wonderful video! It was lovely meeting you at the Sampler Symposium! We were so blessed to have been able to say hi to Jean! My reaction was to start crying when I first entered the Attic lol! It was overwhelming!! I agree - stitching on a plane is difficult with zero room!
It was lovely to meet you too. I hope we will cross paths at another event in the future. I am so happy that I got to see Jean before she passed. See you again next time. Happy stitching. Best, K
Hi Karen great FT your trip to the Attic and the Symposium sounded like so much fun, your yellow submarine is a fabulous finish,I have mine kitted up and ready to go soon, your quilts are all gorgeous as always,Thankyou for sharing from NZ🪡🇳🇿❤
Thanks so much for your sweet comment! I'm really looking forward to seeing your Yellow Submarine when you finish it. 😊 I used all DMC. Are you going to use the called for? I appreciate hearing that you are watching fro NZ (a place that has been on my bucket list for years). Flosstube does bring stitchers together from all over. Happy stitching. Best, K
Sounds like you had the most wonderful time at Sampler Symposium. I saw you sitting and stitching in one of the other flosstube videos but I don’t remember which one. Your quilts are always amazing too! Happy stitching!
Holly, We didn't have enough time together. We have to meet up again soon. Thank you for the compliment on my video. I recorded it before I heard about Jean's passing. I don't think I could have gotten through it if I had known. I hope you are settling well after your move. That is a major life event. All my best to you and your family. Happy stitching. Best, K
Hello Karen congratulations on your FFO’s. I love the red sampler. Are you stitching the moon series? Another gorgeous quilt you are so talented. Thank you for sharing and happy stitching. Do the spool of the stitch’s.
Thank you so much for your comment on my video. I am not doing the moon series. I am really trying to concentrate on the reproduction samplers that I have kitted up with just a sprinkling of fun smalls. See you next time. Happy stitching. Best, K
Hi Karen ,as always beautiful cross stitch work ,and your project bag is just beautiful.l wish that l could make a bag like you have made ,just love the colours .do you use some sort of a frame to hold your perforated paper ? Or do you stitch in hand ? Always in awe of your talent for making your quilts .happy stitching Karen .🥰
Thank you so much for your lovely comment on my video. I thought I would have to come up with some special way to hold the perforated paper, but it is surprisingly resilient. It is more like a plastic than paper. I am just holding it in hand. It is working great. Happy stitching. Best, K
Hi Karen, thank you for another wonderful Flosstube video! I fell in love with your changed wordings on the Ann Gott sampler ❤ Is it possible that you share the chart for the wordings with us? Happy stitching🪡🧵
You are so welcome! That verse is charted and included in the pattern. The pattern is from Needlework Press. You shouldn't have any trouble finding it. Happy stitching. Best, K
Ha Ha Ha. Noooo not a quiz. Remember in school when the teacher would say she was giving a pop quiz and the whole class would groan? I haven't thought about that in decades. Thanks for the memories. 😉
Karen you sound like you're still on a retreat high! how wonderful. I'll never make it to The Attic but love to live vicariously through all the Flosstubers. Stitchers make the world a better place. 🪡🧵🪡 My stash of wool for rug hooking also makes great backings for pinkeeps and stuffing. My quilting cottons are gathering dust.
I am on a retreat high. It has been dampened by the news of Jean's death. I recorded before I heard the news. I probably couldn't have gotten through it if I had known. I agree, stitchers do make the world a better place. Can I help you out with those quilting cottons? LOL. Happy stitching. Best, K
Thank you so much for your comment. My quilts are hanging on a curtain rod that we installed just above the design board. There are spring clips on the rings, so changing out the quilts is quite easy. I learned the hard way that fully finished quilts are too heavy to pin to the design wall. Happy stitching. Best, K
That pineapple quilt is gorgeous!!!! So glad you got to go to The Attic!!!
Beautiful framed pieces.
The Pineapple quilt is gorgeous!

Thanks, I think so too! I'm really happy with how it turned out. Again, it came from stash. I am happy to have so many choices available to me. Happy stitching. Best, K
