To "was he still using a Yamaha SG 2000".....absolutely...all his live hits after 1976, after Les Pauls, were SG 2000's...after that came Paul Reed Smith..PRS guitars...❤
W. O. W. What a great concert and TYSM to Our Host for posting this, especially one where the incredible Greg Walker handled the vocals, easily the best vocalist I have seen over 50 years of concert going.
I was blessed to meet Carlos, Gregg, Graham, Orestes, Raul, and Keith. All separately at different shows backstage and privately. Just good fortune 👌 Fantastic sound on this show. Excellent concert. Thank you 😊 💓
Awesome set! The Santana band 🙏 in this incarnation. An eternal moment in time. Flying through the universe. I play guitar and bass, and somehow I contacted Keith Jones the bass player, and went to his apartment in South S.F. and jammed and recorded with him! Great guy. An experience of a lifetime ✨ I also met and jammed with Orestes Vilato! At one point I played a riff, and he got all excited and asked me where I learned that! Totally improvised. Thanks for this great concert! A Love Supreme 💘
This tour in May 1983 also included the band's first appearance in Budapest where I was also present. The programme was also exactly the same. It was such a thrill to see my favourite artist and band perform in my hometown! (I have seen before, though, while I was living in Cologne, Germany).
Title needs to be fixed to say 'Santana Live at Zurich'. Carlos Santana and Santana are two different things. This is the Santana BAND, not a solo show. His full name 'Carlos Santana' was only used on his solo projects. Santana band albums and tours are just 'Santana'
Taking it a little seriously, don't you think?! Carlos Santana and his band, as its always changing with Carlos at the helm! It's ok, take a deep breath and enjoy 😉 Also, this set does include tracks from 'Havana Moon', so it's both anyway! A Love Supreme 💘
@chan333 Nope, not at all, having known Carlos and the band for many years, there was a very clear distinction beween what 'Santana' meant and 'Carlos Santana'. The albums and tours with his band were always just labelled as 'Santana' hence the giant logo behind them on stage saying that. Carlos's solo stuff would say Carlos on it, and his solo tours usually had a different mix of musicians. Yes this tour was in support of Havana Moon, but it was the full Santana band. I worked with them in the 80's. Sorry for the fact i know more about the band than you do.
I think around this period he was swapping between the SG and the PRS. Its hard to tell at times which one is which here. Tousaaint l'overture and Europa have that distinctive attack he got from the SG

Loved the World Is A Ghetto jam and Mudbone 😊👍
Wow! i didn't expect them to open with the blues. I saw them live in 1983 Melbourne. It was excellent and one of the best concerts I've seen.
C'mon Carlos.....release some of these 80's and 90's shows....so few LIVE albums compared to other bands who have been around this long..........
Unvergessen 👍
Watch Your Step
Tales of Kilimanjaro
Havana Moon
Mudbone
'Havana Moon' solo album released this year 1983! Cool he included them in the set.
W. O. W. What a great concert and TYSM to Our Host for posting this, especially one where the incredible Greg Walker handled the vocals, easily the best vocalist I have seen over 50 years of concert going.
SO GREAT.... I LOVE...
I saw that tour at The Albert Hall in London. Was lucky enought to see a few shows (inc 2 in one day). Great times.
No whew to run , my favourite track here. Great to hear tracks not normally heard.
Thanks for posting this gem from a time gone by.
I was blessed to meet Carlos, Gregg, Graham, Orestes, Raul, and Keith. All separately at different shows backstage and privately. Just good fortune 👌
Fantastic sound on this show.
Excellent concert.
Thank you 😊 💓
Au top 👌
A Gem !!
apreciar los toros desde la barrera es halago, pero los sonidos, para mi, escuchar el orden y apreciar un escenario es real agazajo'..

Thank you for this set list and ability to access 🎵 songs
I remember it as if it were yesterday - a most amazing concert in the Hallenstadion Zürich :)
No Where to run. Fantastic

An experience of a lifetime ✨
I also met and jammed with Orestes Vilato! At one point I played a riff, and he got all excited and asked me where I learned that! Totally improvised.
Thanks for this great concert!

Thank you for your effort in sharing this magic with us. Much love

The best Latin rock music ever played in this planet
Was he still using the Yamaha sg? Anybody know? Inquiring minds would like to know......
