This is exactly what I did and it did not stay what so ever. So I decided to just put it on, put gloss on my lips without placing anything on top of the patch and pressed my lips together. Stayed on for a few hours. But had to change every 3 hours like stated. Wish there was something more when it comes to cold sores. Working in the food industry it really is noticeable
I get larger hydrocolloid bandages and cut to size. I cut them bigger than the hydrocolloids that are marketed for cold sores, and they seem to stay quite a bit better. It's def more noticeable visually, but they've been making my cold sores heal a lot faster with far less pain, and they do an amazing job of reducing the swelling. I find if I cut it too small, the cold sore fills the hydrocolloid w/ fluid way too quickly and it won't stay on very long at all. I cut mine in an oval shape that's slightly larger than a nickel, so it covers close to half my bottom lip(havent gotten a sore on my upper lip since trying this method out so idk how this method will work for upper lip), and it stays on alright as long as I avoid eating, talking too much, etc. So I only use them either at night or when I have no real obligations to speak lol. You can often find the bigger ones in bulk for cheaper too, so having to replace the bandage after eating/drinking/talking/singing is less obnoxious since it won't draining ur wallet so fast lmao

Green concealer then skin colored concealer! That is the best way to cover because green cancels out red. I use Maybelline Master Camo Color Correcting Pens in Green then my Loreal Paris Infallible Concealer on top. Wishing you all clear skin.

Use Lysine vitamins at the first sign you're going to get a cold sore. My first dose I take 3,000mg then 2,000mg every 8 to 12 hours. If I take it at the first tingle or any sign whatsoever my cold sore will be tiny and only last 2-3 days whereas they used to last 2 weeks. These are too thick and noticeable. I tried putting makeup over it but it just looked ridiculous.
