    Adam, I found the review insightful and highly informative. Thank you so much for the review and the look inside. I have been interested in this book and the Encyclopedia of German of Tanks but both are ridiculously expensive.

      +TacticalJackalope I have that encyclopedia as well, it's awesome but it's only really worth it if you plan to build hundreds of these things.

    Great video as always. I've wanted this book for sometime now, but wouldn't spend the high price for it. This week I found it on eBay auction. Beginning bid $21.50 I paid $81.00. Happy with my decision to buy it. A couple of weeks ago on eBay I offered a guy $85.00 for his listed copy @ $109.95 HE SAID NO. glad he didn't take it I would have over paid.

      +ke1stcav $81 is bordering on reasonable for this I think.

    really awesome review Adam as always, that's why I watch your reviews I get what I need to know. Funny thing is I wouldn't pay 10c for that book, I have captured so many pictures from the Internet that I have the greatest tiger book in the world. all on three computers. again cool review.

    I bought this book when it was first printed. Its a great book which I always go to for Tiger info and where I first found out about Mr Surfacer....

    Its a supberb book
    Personally , its informative, great pics, inspirational and a Concensus, however yes, it can be expensive.
    If i can find it in print , over internet.
    Wham i buy it.
    I bought it when it first came out.
    It was printed by MMIR , Ampersand Publishing , out of print and out of business.
    But the month to month mag was for its time hands down the best Armor printed guide to projects, kits reviews ever in print.
    I would hope someone comes out with some kind of compendium again.
    Not online.
    On hands books.
    Research is maginificent .
    I was born before internet.
    To me in my humble opinion books , good ones are priceless
    I like your videos Adam and reviews
    I apperciate your views and reviews.
    I have a hardbound one , plus the Jadgpanzer one
    Cheers!!!!!

    Adam, I'v had this book since it came out' and I loved your review. It is interesting knowing what st right/wrong with models, your never going to get as completely perfect reference book as you know. We need to go back in time and take a photo of a vehicle and then come back and build that tank, we need doctor who to assist us "lol " keep up the good work and thank you.

    Got it went it first came out. Great book. Agreed it's over priced today. I understand the price increase for out of print books. Been looking for Panzer Tracts 5-4 on the Panther F & II. First sold for $19.95 USD. Sells today for $300 if you can find it. Seen it as high as $1000. For a 61 page paperback, stapled spine book.

    • @AdamMann3D
      @AdamMann3D  8 лет назад

      +BlitzGreigModelWorks That's insane. You can find PDF files of those books online if you look in the right places.

    • @BlitzGreigModelWorks
      @BlitzGreigModelWorks 8 лет назад

      I did find the Panzer Tracts one I was looking for as a pdf. It was on some Russian site of all places. My concern was the scale drawings and if they would actually print out to scale. It seemed, at least in this case, that they did. I'd still like an actual original book whenever possible if only for the scale drawings.

    This book along with some of their other guide books are handy reference guides. I've used them, along with other sources when building some of my WW2 kits. A friend from my local AMPS chapter built the Tiger 2 prototype in this Tiger book. I'd like to see them update this book, but put them in a three ring binder so that updates could be kept together.

    • @AdamMann3D

    The problem with DW to Tiger I is that it does not have line drawing for all variants and subvariants. Until someone writes that text, this book is indispensable.

    • @AdamMann3D

      +F.W. Sauerteig I agree, the drawings in DW to Tier I are not up to par.

    Adam.You never said the year it was put out.But at the time it was and still is the single best reference on these tanks for the modeler.The guys behind this book and others did MMiR which the modeling world is at a huge loss with out .Tho "now" nearly 20yrs later

    I really appreciate this review. Definitely buying the book. You remember those DS tracks you sold me? That build's done now.
    Quick question: do you build with resin parts? If so, how do you get the paint to dry the same colour (compared to styrene)/not chip off resin parts?

    • @AdamMann3D
      @AdamMann3D  8 лет назад

      +RandomCanEHdian I just did my first resin parts build on a Sturmtiger. Not loving it. But I haven't painted yet.

    It's one of my most used and favoured books in my library. I'm glad that I i bought it when I did and for the price that I got it for.
    I hope that one day they do a second printing or second edition. It's a good solid reference that only the wealthy can buy... so it's mostly useless. :(
    There's one for the Jagdtiger and variations of it for the Sherman I think, though they aren't as good I'm told.

    Interesting. I have both (MGTT and EGT) ) but never would have thought that the price would have escalated to the heights they have. And no they are NOT for sale - LOL!. I have found they were and to some extent are still great for their day...especially looking at the time they were published...correct?Thanks for all of your dedication. Have a super day.

      +Danny Herron it may sound stupid but haynes has made a workshop manual on the tiger tank ( and a number of other books including the sherman and the churchill tank) i use it a lot for scratchbuilding interior and the general technical data, not as comprehensive as the modelers guide to the tiger but good enough for me. The books are around 25 - 30 dollars on ebay

    Got mine like 15 years ago for all of 25 bucks and I still love it. It's a great book for 25 bucks, I can't imagine paying stupid money for it. The last 10 pages are model resources and and being 15 + years old I don't think they are very useful at all, I'm guessing most of the links are long dead and the products if available probably only on Ebay if you get lucky. That said with 3d printing and new kits that come with PE and turned barrels and die slide parts you might not need a lot of the stuff listed.

Anyway Its a great book most of what you need is in there but I agree its def not woth $100.

    G'Day
    Have just returned to modeling after 30+ years, or more yeah!
    Love afv's and yes am a tiger fan.
    Have thoroughly enjoyed your vids and am brushing up on info on kits and knowledge of such but after watching your series am more confused . Was a fan of Afrika corps as in Rommel. which of the tiger kits would be a good representation of his as there were not many in his panzer brigade. A lot has changed in techniques ie airbrushs recently bought Iwata smart jet with eclipse hp- bs .35 needle/ nosel can you suggest an alternate airbrush to compliment without breaking the budget? Again thank-you in advance and please keep the awesome vids coming

      +Adam Mann I sometimes go crazy and buy stuff like this. Paid about $100 for the first one then $29 for a good but used one. Then sold the original for $90+. So now I have a $29 one.( really a net $39 one). The most agravating part about this company is their attitude about order fulfillment. They just don't give a fuck. Subscribed to their MMiR about a year ago and have received one issue. One in a year. No commitment on when the next will be coming. They told me my annual subscription of 4 quarterly issues was really a subscription for 4 issues! Whenever ! What a bunch of ballsy nuts. All I get from them now are e mails trying to sell pre release special armor subject books. Like I am gonna send them more money! Jeeeesh!

  • @BC-fy1wn

    Yes it is indeed silly,they have other publications reprinted and PDF?,Anyway,I believe the original author may be the problem,perhaps his contract atates their rights to 1 print or he may not be alive.I could not find any current contact info on him.Keep up the nice work. Bret

    In a comparison between Rinaldi and Wilder i believe Rinaldi is far more experienced and produces better finishes with his style then Wilder.What Wilder can do with 7 different products ,Rinaldi can do with 3 . Wilder is just out to make money on any way he can,very greedy man and his stuff is way over priced like his books.

    • @AdamMann3D
      @AdamMann3D  4 года назад +1

      I have a bias there as I worked on Wilder's rebranding and image like 5 years ago, and Adam is a friend of mine. Rinaldi i have reviewed books for and get along with very well but don't personally know. Rinaldi is precise and a great layout guy/designer. Adam is unconventional but has a lot of raw talent. Guys like Martin Kovac learned a lot by working with Wilder. But I see your point.
