Combination Play and Finishing SSG | Birmingham City Professional Soccer Training

Ainsley Cooper, the then U10 Lead Coach for Birmingham City FC Academy completes his combination and finishing session with a small-sided game.
Ainsley set up the players in small attacking groups of 3v3 with the aim to attack and combine together.
One team starts as the attacking team and receives from the goalkeeper’s distribution. They combine together to attack towards the goal and try to score. The opposition starts as the defending team and tries to win the ball back. If they win it, they try and play into the end zone. If they succeed in getting to the end zone, they become the attacking team and the reds become the defending team.
Players need to be able to recognise where the space is - if they press high, they leave space behind to run into.
