    Wow, six months of retirement cruising sounds like a dream! Imagine waking up to a new port every few days and not worrying about daily chores or cooking. I’d love to do that someday.

      It’s such a great way to see the world! Plus, a lot of cruises cater specifically to retirees, so you’re surrounded by like-minded people who just want to relax and enjoy life. Have you thought about the cost, though? Six months at sea can really add up.

      That’s true, but if you plan it right, it could still be affordable. Some long-term cruise packages offer discounts for extended stays, and you’re saving on housing, groceries, and even utilities back home. It’s just a matter of budgeting and planning.

      Exactly! That’s why working with someone like Joseph Nick Cahill as a financial advisor makes a huge difference. When I was planning my retirement, he helped me structure my savings so I could afford experiences like this while still keeping my financial future secure.

    I liked your views of Virgin, taking everything you don't like about cruising and got rid of it. Taking notes!

    I spent about 10 months living mostly on cruise ships last year, and I've concluded that it wasn't quite as 'luxurious' a way of life as I'd expected. I jumped across 19 different ships, but in hindsight wish I'd spent a little longer on a few of my ships, as I was always jumping around, and packing/unpacking!

    We are doing 3 back to bank, staring in April, a TA on Ascent, from Fort Lauderdale to Barcelona, the 3 day break before boarding MSC Grandiosa for 7 day Med cruise. The fly to Heathrow, bus to Southampton ten onto P & O Britannia for 14 day Northern Europe/ Scandinavia cruise. 40 days total…we’ll see how it goes

    1 a month works best for me. Somewhere between 7-22 days. Starlink on ships makes a huge difference especially on a trans Atlantic. I think it is nice to send the laundry out and it comes back all folded. Having status on lines helps too with the cost.

    A long cruise becomes a lifestyle, not a vacation.
    But...What a great lifestyle.

    New York may be a great port, but it takes two days to get to the Caribbean, and two days to get back. Not for me. I prefer to sail from Ft. Lauderdale.

      I agree with you, you've remind me of what someone once said "The mind is the man, the poor is in it and the rich is it too". This sentence is the secret of most successful investors. I once attended similar and ever since then been waxing strong financially, and i most tell you the truth..investment is the key that can secure your family future.

      yeah investment is the key to sustaining your financial longevity but venturing into any legitimate Investment without a proper guidance of an expert can lead to a great loss too

      We are a 6 figure income couple and had very little saved and not much cash lying around the preverbal". '...don't have $500 for an emergency" that was us. The big thing was debt all kinds of it, cars mortgage (although our home isn't a high price one), student loans for our kids, and of course credit cards.
      One day we just got sick of being broke and went total scorched earth and became frugal overnight. Paid it all off, it took almost 5 years but now we have no debt and this year our savings rate is 50% on basically the same income that had us perpetually broke.
      So for us it is mainly staying out of debt and watching our spending, at first it was a real effort to save in our HISA and 401Ks but now it's actually fun watching our money grow. No car or vacation or neighborhood is worth being broke or financially unstable.

    How did you manage laundry?

    • @kene8895
      @kene8895 11 месяцев назад +1

      Most cruise ships have a laundry service where you fill up a laundry bag and place it on your bed along with a itemized list of the clothes articles and it will be picked up, washed and dried and returned within 24 hours.
      Certain things you can was in the bathroom sink with a bit of detergent and hung up to dry.... you can do this overnight.

    Honestly I prefer the newer ships, I need to feel like I’m on vacation with all the nice things. I miss making my own coffee if I’m away for too long on any vacation especially a cruise.

    Could you do another video discussing your strategies for packing for your full time travel lifestyle? How do you decide what you take and what you don’t? I know how to travel lightweight for vacations. I expect it’s different when you begin LIVING/working full time in hotel/train/cruise rooms. Thanks! ❤ love the content

    You don't seem to have considered the issue of medical care, which becomes an increasingly important consideration with the aging process. My wife and I live in a retirement community with about 200 residents. There is at least one ambulance arrival daily! This is not even considering the increasing need for routine medical visits and specialty care which is inevitable with aging. Try and get these services on a cruise ship.

    Just can't help remarking how (potentially) ironic the title is. If you ignore "Life" as redundant, it becomes "Grounded Cruises", and of course "Grounded" in its simplest meaning ("on the ground") would never include cruises!

    • @TrimansWife
      @TrimansWife 11 месяцев назад +2

      Their life is grounded. Firm hold on life. Not how they travel.
