I’m putting my bets on the Mclaren Speedtail being the 1:8th scale car. It’s Mclaren’s flagship car, and it has unique shape and color compared to the other cars we got
Yea but if it was a speed tail what colour would it be? The other cars are all flashy and they all use their launch specs. The most Likely colour to be used is yellow and McLaren launched the p1 in yellow
Thanks for the clarification. This in my opinion looks like the nicest F1 car Technic has made at this scale. The colors look great and the proportions look much better than the previously released one. Definitely excited for the review as well as the Kawasaki bike as it's definitely on the list for March. Really curious to see it scaled with the previous bikes in the lineup. With Speed Champions and Technic sets headlining the start of March it'll definitely be an epic Month for reviews.
It’s realistically probably gonna be a McLaren p1 in yellow for many reasons. First it’s a hypercar and by the looks of the 1:8 scale cars, they are all hyper cars but with the exception of the Porsche however the Porsche was the first one and Lego never knew what would happen to the line up. It could also be a p1 because of its launch colour being yellow so perhaps a yellow p1 similar to the speed champions one and yellow hasn’t been used yet.The Chiron was launched in blue and Lego made it blue, the Sian was launched in olive green but Lego made it green, the Daytona was launched in red and Lego made it red and the 911 was launched in orange and Lego made it orange
Back in around 2017 all lego technic sets where like cool bulldozers and a lot of different vehicles, but since around 2019 lego saw that more ppl are interested in cars, so they made lots of lego technic car sets but where dit the function go? I was a lego technic fan pure for the function en mechanisms but nowadays its all just about looks and display, i wish we could go back to those set that had a lot of incredible function 😪
I am really looking forward to this year’s next 1:8 scale lego technic supercar. I think that e McLaren speed rail would be probably what we will get here this year, as it is one of the most iconic cars in McLaren’s lineup, and would be well to replicate. I cannot wait to see the review of the 10330 McLaren MP4/4, planning on buying it but waiting until a review comes out to make my final decision.
That wouldn't make much sense, because solus is a track car, so it would be if it would ever be in a 1/10 size category. All 1:8 supercars are multimillion road legal carsl@roopika1181
I mean, the box with 1:8 scale logo is kinda misleading, but, the piece count should be a sure way of telling people that the AMG Petronas isn’t part of the actual 1:8 scale group
Good point about the size of the suspension parts and wheels determining the overall size of the F1 car sets over the years. However, given current F1 cars are about 50% larger than they were 15 years ago, I wonder whether that growth is also shown across the generations of Technic sets from Silver Champion to 42000 to the 2022 McLaren to the new Mercedes.
The length difference is actually only about 20% between the 2022 McLaren F1 and a 2006 Ferrari F1 car (when 8674 was released). According to the measurements I found online, 8674 was in reality about 7.5:1 scale, while 42141 is about 8.5:1.
According to my source, the upcoming 1:8 scale supercar is gonna be a McLaren indeed! Allegedly, set number 42172 with 3893 pieces, to be released in September this year.
@@Sonderax F1 is just so much more iconic it would be so cool to have it in Lego 1:8 supercar form. If they can't do a good shade of silver then they should do the menacing black F1 GTR which literally won Le Mans outright. @@tren133Agree!F1 is so classic and has a boxy shape which is more easier for lego to capture. They have done a good job at Speed champion MF1. But traditionally lego would choose new car as technical flagship model😢,so it might be solus gt😢
Looking forward to the Mercedes but not as much as the supercar release - I agree with you, I am pretty confident it will be a McLaren - it totally makes sense as there is an existing license in place.
I have no idea why Lego decided to put 1:8 on this box. I kind of hope Lego would remove that from the box someday when this set is not a part of the Lego Technic Supercar line.
Honestly I think it will be a Koenigsegg, mainly because they would make a mclaren p1 and that was in orange, and orange was already done with the GT3RS. The Jesko has a red flagship (also is prominent in white) and they’ve yet to do Red.
People are really not that daft surely??? Which McLaren car for the supercar hasn't been released yet and won't till around June then released in August. The F1 in the video is coming out in March (for UK)
im generally a huge anti technic guy cause it just doesnt capture the same feel as true standard lego for me but that 1/8th mercedes is so cool, i might have to get it anyway. otherwise i cant wait to get my hands on the maclaran f1 speed champion
The 1:8 Supercar has already been leaked. It's a McLaren and its cost is simlar as Ferrari SP3, Chiron etc. The thing is... which McLaren? Knowing that LEGO is using same licenses for different scale cars, and that McLaren car roster is not enormous... McLaren Formula 1 from modern era, like speed champions and last years technic? McLaren Honda from Senna? Or the glorious McLaren F1 road car? Maybe we could hope for a McLaren F1 LM Longtail
If the rear tires for this are still the same width as the front then this will be a hard pass. Chinese brand CADA have already surpassed LEGO with their officially licensed Alfa Romeo F1 car with proper tire proportions.
I'd like a Range Rover for the supercar set this time, or a bentley or rolls royve. Something fast and luxury. Also, why all those F1 sets? I HATE all motorsports that use vehicles sthat dont even resemble a car anymore. I know, other people like them, so they cant just please me but a bit of a spread would be nice
Depends on your country, in Europe you can already pre-order it. I assume in other countries there won't be a pre-order, regular sales begin on March 1st.
If the 1:8 super car is a McLaren my mrs will go mad as Im supposed to be banned from getting any more large Lego sets....Wont stop me though as a McLaren fan!
The upcoming 1:8 supercar won’t be a McLaren, no way. In the line of Porsche, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Ferrari, it will not be an (with all due respect) insignificant brand such as the McLaren. My guess will be more likely another German or Italian supercar.
So this one would be the successor to the Porsche RSR, the Ferrari 488 GT3 and the Peugeot 9X8? If so, it's a shame not to stick to the theme of endurance (I don't like F1...)
I bet the next 1:8 supercar is a "non F1 manufacture car builder" - because Porsche, Lamborghinni or Bugatti has NOT build a F1 so it could be a Koenigsegg or a Pagani - and the 2025 F1 i see a RedBull ;-)
I really dont care for the 1:8 F1 cars as Lego didn’t bother to make the rear wheels and tires bigger than the front and this ruins the whole look for me. What a stupid decision.
It should be obvious that it is not the next 1:8 scale supercar for two reasons. First, the set is not a supercar, it is a Formula 1 car. Second, the box of the set does not look fancy as the 1:8 scale supercars. It is just a yet another boring 18+ box design.
Honestly the mclaren didn't need it, neither do the older ones... the mercedes possibly wil do not as great because of how badly it performed and the fact lewis hamilton at the time the primairy driver at amg f1 is leaving mercedes for ferrari at the end of 2024... and so the left a very bad taste in the mouths of mercedes/lewis hamilton fans..

I’m putting my bets on the Mclaren Speedtail being the 1:8th scale car. It’s Mclaren’s flagship car, and it has unique shape and color compared to the other cars we got
I don't think it will be. That car is a few years old now, normally they do something brand new for the 1:8 supercars.

'Building and filming practically non-stop' poor guy! 😂
I want a McClaren speedtail in dendilion shades, or a Koenigsegg jesko in gunmetal gray chrome to be the next 1:8 lego supercar
I wonder how would they make the 3 seats, no more side mirrors 😂 and the flexwing

I agree with a yellow colour. They could use new yellow colour parts on construction vehicles later.
