As an Arsenal fan, I feel those trashing the Havertz transfer forget that Xhaka, a player who was not known for his goal scoring or assisting in previous seasons, slotted into the 8 role and put up 14 G/A. If Havertz can show a similar aptitude in going forward that Arsenal need from that spot, I think he’ll put up a respectable tally. If his pressing is as good as advertised, he’ll be a perfect Arteta player.
The problem with Havertz isn’t scoring goals it’s the fact he is such a different profile from xhaka, who would help in build up and cover left back and always be available to receive the ball, Havertz isn’t that player
he's not a midfielder at all. cannot help control in 1st/2nd phase and cannot block space, two vital attributes of any LCM i really feel his long term future is at CF
there is a reason rice is playing as an 8 now , havertz doesnt work at all . to be midfielder u need to be able to retain possesion , create chances, be press resistant and havertz isnt that at all
Weird, I always pegged Xhaka as a creative player, and that the managers were wasting him by forcing him to play as a CDM. Guess what happens when he is given the freedom to roam and create? Best season of his Arsenal career. As for Havertz, I will slate that transfer irregardless of whether he is a good player or not. It is a bad transfer because Arsenal is doing Chelsea a big favour by paying them so much for a rotational player, helping bail them out of the massive FFP sinkhole they dug themselves into. (Looking at Mason Mount to MUFC too). Heck, you can get ESR to rotate with Odegaard, so if it were down to me Havertz would be shunted out to the right wing to play second fiddle to Saka. And if that's the case then it is a massive waste of money. You could have gotten Moussa Diaby or James Maddison, who've since moved to Aston Villa and Spurs respectively, for 15-20 mil less. If MUFC can get Mount at 55 mil after English tax, 65 mil for Havertz is downright appalling.
i think there will be like 9 teams clearly above the rest (brighton, villa, spurs, newcastle , chelsea, man united, liverpool, arsenal man city) and then brentford and palace in there and the rest can be decent or anyone one of the 9 rest can relegate. and sheffield is gonna be relegated
Think Nottingham could really struggle due to the fact, they’ve massively weakened at gk going from keylor navas to matt turner is an ugly change. Also think my spurs could surprise people, we either push top 4 or really struggle for top half this season, i cant see any stability as of right now

I think west ham picking up Ward Prowse have them looking more solid and dangerous on set piece with alavarez and slab head too. They just need a decent striker, maybe a Lukaku could slide in since no one else wants him apparently
putting chelsea 4th and then saying their squad isn't good is crazy lol. united in 3rd is also crazy because when you deep it their squad isn't that good either
As a United fan taking third? NO. I have a feeling we will be ruthless this year, i dont think rival fans understan want Onana brings to a Ten Hag system... the only thing that is frightening me is possibly Höjlund not being good enough and the inconsistant form of our wingers
Absolutely nailed the whole Caicedo prediction Spen! The Henderson and Fabinho money really opened the door to spending over 100 million that otherwise would not have happened
I'd out Fulham above Forest, Bournemouth and Everton ... mainly because i believe it's those three teams that is primarily a part of the relegation scrap (together with the relegated) before the dust settles
United fan here, and I just want an improvement for us from last season. I want us to get more points than we did, maybe some silverware, and hopefully a better style of football. So whether we finish 2nd or 3d or 4th, as long as we see improvement in those areas, I'll be happy. And then a serious title challenge in the next season.
After watching round 1, I changed my mind about Wolves. I had them going down, but they were better then United. Everton are going down, they did not play well. I know it's round 1, but it looked awful
West Ham fans, you guys will love Edson Alvarez. I’m surprised Liverpool didn’t go for him, his value was cut in half in comparison to last summer & he’s the “6” that they need.
Agree with nufc 7th, but for different reason, Think we'll drop out of champions league then go far in the europa, those Thursday games will be a killer!
The weirdest thing about a lot of the football you tube predictions for next season is Chelsea climbing 6 or 7 places. I get that people rate Pochettino but they have sold some very good players and their main 2 strikers are Lukaku (wants out and is poor at best anyway in this league) and Sterling (couldn't score if he was in an under 8's game these days). I get no European football being a factor but i think it's delusional having them finishing top 4. Spurs finishing top 6 is a bit mad as well when they have a League 1 level manager and a side who without Kane are probably on a similar level to West Ham. Going to be an interesting season
I think I'd swap Liverpool and Chelsea, just cuz I think Klopp is a world class manager, and is gonna want that top 4 spot more than Chelsea. I do rate Pochettino as a manager, but I also think his squad isn't that good like you said Spen, and it will take time for him to implement his style of play. I honestly think Tottenham is finishing 8th this season, I think the whole situation with Kane going on and I'm not really familiar with Postecoglu, I know he did well at Celtic, but he's a generally unproven manager in the big stages of football, and I don't think he has what it takes to manage a bigger team like Tottenham (no disrespect to the other clubs he managed). Unpopular opinion: I think Burnley's getting relegated this season instead of Sheffield United. I know Burnley did exceptionally well in the championship, but I've seen teams do very well in the championship and then be unable to stay up in the prem. I don't know if Vincent Kompany's style to play is suitable to keep Burnley up in the prem nor do I think they have the players to keep them up. I think Sheffield United is staying up barely, idk something tells me they'll barely do it. I think forest is getting relegated instead of Wolves, I think their manager isn't good enough to keep them up, they barely stayed up after spending a lot of money. Other than that, I think the list is pretty good.
As a united fan I’d be very happy with 3rd but just with more points and maybe mount some what of a challenge but 3rd I’d be happy with, the transfers we’re making are defo drawing us close to starting to challenge
@@harrisonmartin1134yes mate but we’re still not up to the quality of city/arsenal in depth, it’ll come as ten hags doing good things, especially if glazers leave
I'll take 3rd because Ten Hag clearly needs 1 more transfer window. 1 fit striker who's 20 and inexperienced. 3 centre backs with Varane getting on. No Casemiro successor. Squad isn't at the level of city and the top teams yet.
I love ur predictions videos Spenc! Been watching em the last couple of seasons. A new idea for the next season, it would be fun if u could also predict who is gonna promote from the championship. I think leicester are gonna win it this season🤔
The fact that spencer predicted chelsea in top 4 even before we signed caicedo and potentially lavia! Thnx mate, I truly think we are competing for top 4 this season
I mostly agree tbh perfect breakdown n predictions on paper other than I don’t see Chelsea doing that well n as an arsenal fan I honestly think we have more of a chance this season than last and like u said it all crumbled once saliba got injured but with timber I mean just seeing him play in pre season shows how much of an impact he’s gonna be to the team and could fully well win us the league❤
1 more season with Harry Kane is worth a lot more then Selling him for 100+ million. That money does not change the club. Kane could still be the difference between 6th & 4th. Kane could still be difference between winning nothing.. or winning an FA Cup, League cup. This is a long shot but there is even a world in which Spurs win a trophy, finish in the Top 4 and Kane decides ''You know what, I am happy to stay now, finish my career here'' Daniel Levy knows what he is doing.
I'd bite your hand off for third. We've improved a lot but so has a lot of teams and I think NEXT season will be the season we really, really challenge.
United fans are too funny. Spent so much money just to compete ‘next year’ when you’ll have to replace Varane, Casemiro and others, whilst still questioning if Onana and Hojlund are good enough
@@bobf1267 Why would we have to replace them next year? Varane is 30, Casemiro is 31. We finished 3rd in a league where a few times were in transition. Those teams are far stronger now. Spurs, Chelsea, Liverpool etc. Arsenal have strengthened and City are city. We still don't have guaranteed goals, if Hojlund gets injured we have no striking option as martial is made of wet tissue We have indeed strengthened in two areas midfield and our keeper, especially the latter. But it doesn't guarantee anything? Also as the second biggest club in the world if we spent 300m every season that would be our right to do so. But we've not even spent 200m this season and are on the verge of selling 130m worth of players.
@@declantill8864 because they’re declining? Age isn’t an exact science. Fabinho declined at 29 whereas Salah is still going. Man Utd fan here...
Yes I would take 3rd 😂
I agree with you Spen. I think we’re in trouble. Lopetegui leaving, no signings, Gary ONeil coming in 🤦🏻♂️
We’ve all been waiting for this
putting chelsea 4th and then saying their squad isn't good is crazy lol. united in 3rd is also crazy because when you deep it their squad isn't that good either
As a United fan taking third? NO. I have a feeling we will be ruthless this year, i dont think rival fans understan want Onana brings to a Ten Hag system... the only thing that is frightening me is possibly Höjlund not being good enough and the inconsistant form of our wingers
West Ham at 10th is crazy and this is coming from a West Ham fan
Absolutely nailed the whole Caicedo prediction Spen! The Henderson and Fabinho money really opened the door to spending over 100 million that otherwise would not have happened
Love that spencer has kept this series going
YESSS been waiting for this one. Was gassed when i saw it 🤩🤩
I'd out Fulham above Forest, Bournemouth and Everton ... mainly because i believe it's those three teams that is primarily a part of the relegation scrap (together with the relegated) before the dust settles
Been waiting 🎉🎉
Here for the culture as always spen, love the vids
Liverpool aren’t going to charge for the title but you can’t say transition year and then have Chelsea finishing above them
Noone in the comments noticing how he put wolves 18th and theyre 8th???
no, you’re only seeing it with hindsight
Great Premier League Predictions!, best I have seen so far,I hope as a Arsenal fan we can win it or the champions league
lovely stuff from spendoggydog
Love the videos, man. Keep it up!!!
West Ham fans, you guys will love Edson Alvarez. I’m surprised Liverpool didn’t go for him, his value was cut in half in comparison to last summer & he’s the “6” that they need.
Great vlog Spencer and I think you might be right on your premier league predictions and bring on the season. 👍😊⚽️
this gotta be my favourite vid every year
in before Liverpool signed caicedo
Agree with nufc 7th, but for different reason,
Think we'll drop out of champions league then go far in the europa, those Thursday games will be a killer!
Look forward to this vid every year wish we had more through season
"Big 6" bias even from Spen
as a United i would take third if we manage another domestic cup this season, preferably the FA cup and reach the QF in the CL.
I'd be happy with 3rd....I definitely wouldn't be very happy.
What’s happened to other united fans we surely should aim to improve so that’s coming 2nd or 1st
I think 2nd is realistic
Chelsea are not doing anything 😂
I do agree that Luton will drop but they’ll be above Sheffield
I mostly agree tbh perfect breakdown n predictions on paper other than I don’t see Chelsea doing that well n as an arsenal fan I honestly think we have more of a chance this season than last and like u said it all crumbled once saliba got injured but with timber I mean just seeing him play in pre season shows how much of an impact he’s gonna be to the team and could fully well win us the league❤
Do a champship one please
We still don't have guaranteed goals, if Hojlund gets injured we have no striking option as martial is made of wet tissue
We have indeed strengthened in two areas midfield and our keeper, especially the latter.
So entitled: you think you deserve to spend hundreds of millions every year and complain when you don’t, but when you do it leads to inevitable failure where you all complain and change manager. Boring.
At the end of the day, at least United won’t win the league or UCL for a minimum of 5 years.
@@bobf1267 Are they? Varane maybe, Casemiro will play top level football until he's 35/36. With us? No but he's fine for another 2/3 seasons. Modric is 39 Ffs.
What do you mean? Yeah we ARE entitled to spend money? Why wouldn't we be? We turn over billions, we spend what we make and still our owners suck money out of us.
You simply just don't understand football mate.
@@declantill8864 probably complain that city and Chelsea spend too much. You legit spend the most in the world and it’s not enough, yet you have no success on the pitch and likely won’t for another 5-10 years. I already said different players age differently. Modric may be good at 39 but what does that have to do with Varane and Casemiro obviously being washed? Should I expect Nunez to break the goal record because Haaland did it? They have no correlation lad.
Ironic saying I don’t understand football when every season you clap your hands at the transfer window then watch united get dicked whilst sitting on your sofa 🤣🤣🤣🤣 surely you understand that lots of the money you make should go to wages, debts and infrastructure? Oh no, all you care about is transfers. Please learn the sport
Good to see you're Still alive
The one video I wait for every year
The only thing that will go changing on Spence is his PL predictions😂
