Crazy level from Rafa... one of the greatest level of tennis by any player in any era of tennis. Electric foot speed, superior physicality, tremendous forehand and maneuverability on court.. any version of any player would've been beaten soundly by this version of Rafa. Man, I'll miss him dearly after his retirement 😢
I don't know. 2011 Djokovic, 2015 Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz, and Bjorn Borg all would have legit shots at winning.

Just wow! You are just a treasure for us fans, mate! I have never seen this match is such good quality! It seems stupefying for me that especially now with what will surely be the last time Rafa and Novak participating at RG together, the RG channel has not uploaded their first trio of consecutive matches on their channel, the 2006, 2007 and 2008 ones. Djokovic did well in the 3rd set to not receive a bakery product, he got to the point where he was a set point up on Nadal but Nadal too clutch with a good jamming serve into the body and then ran away with the tiebreak

When it comes to a particular tournament and court, this 08 Nadal would only be challenged by 2010 or 2012 version of Rafa. But even then, I think this one comes on top. It's just absurdly good mix of skills, confidence, youth and not being beaten still definitely helps. He was always good here, 2017, 2020 are some other good years, even 2014 he was brutal in the semifinal and the final. But 08 to me stands out the most.

Nadal at his absolute best here. Perfect balance of speed, power, agility and aggression. Combined with never say die attitude.

Nadal won all the games in straight sets. Djokovic though was the second best player at this tournament, though he did not make the finals. Roger was the one who took terrible beating in the final. Djokovic at least was little competitive in this game.
