No game is perfect and CoD Ghosts definitely had a few flaws on show at the multiplayer reveal. I sat down, played for a few hours, and found some things I didn't like. This video goes over what I think is good about the game, what is bad, and what is downright ugly about it. Hopefully, the bad and ugly parts can be fixed before the final release.

Watching in 2016 strangely makes me want to play this again, possibly because I haven't played it in so long and it appears fresh and new, but also because I didn't hate this game as much as everyone else did.
I loved this game, but then again, i liked EVERY cod... Even AW
I've only just started on Ghosts (never got round to it). I like it...but...shame the current online numbers are few and far between (on 360 anyway).

I did same thing,I like ghosts tho. I think it's funny he said Riley was balanced in this,then in game we see he's annoying as hell.I still enjoyed Ghosts tho
I like Ghosts too, it just didn't turn out the way they portrayed it to be since the RUclipsr's/Pros make it look much more enjoyable. This game and these advanced mechanics may scare a lot of the more casual fans, and I fear that there will be even less mobility with these silly new sights and advanced IED's
Cal of duty hasn't been good since the original black ops. It had a great campaign and the best multiplayer gameplay and maps ever. Now it's just a bunch of weird perks and guns where it gets to the point it's hardly even a FPS. Personally when it comes to multiplayer I'm a huge battlefield fan and will by cod only for the story mode. I The campaign was good in ghost, but in the modern warfare series it really did have a sense of "epic-ness". It had great characters and the final mission of MW3 really had, for lack of a better term, a "badass". Tone to it. Personally I think it would be really cool if the ghost sequel has a task force 141 connection to the ghost squad. Maybe even captain price as like a general?

It really boils down to the maps and spawns. Since BO1, the maps in CoD had been getting smaller and smaller with each installment until they reached their tightest configurations in BO2. Ghosts comes along and suddenly the maps are rivaling Cod4 and even WaW in terms of size. This wouldn't necessarily be a problem if the spawns were sensible, but they were not. The spawn system was horrific early on with rampant revenge spawns.

Infinity Ward always made the best CoDs. I love the modern warfare series for sniping/quickscoping and Ghosts is my fav cod to pubstomp

You're funny. Just today I saw a guy with a tent, grill, and hot dogs ready to go on the grill on Favela. He invited me over when he realized I wasn't looking for a fight. I hung out with him until the round ended. But really? There are more Snipers running around than fish swimming away from you on that water level.
You on Xbox or ps3? Also its pretty easy to tell where ppl camp on favela its the same map as mw2 and the same camping spots as always the same exact houses and corners. I'm gonna say yeah there prob is some camping but not as much as before.

The MAAWS was an anti air rocket launcher. It fired 2 missiles per shot so it could shoot helicopters better. It was also a little lower than Air Superiority because it is something handheld that you have to be able to use in order to get anything out of it. In terms of combat, it is pretty much a stronger version of the free fire rocket launcher.
Also, they did put in an indicator for the lean bars. If your gun flicks sideways, you lean to that side. If the gun stays straight, you don't lean.

2 years later this game at least runs better than aw connections because AW dedicated servers such so much is unplayable
This CoD (MP MOSTLY) would of been good if there wouldn't be as much campers with silenced LMG's. I find myself being killed every 2 minutes with some guy camping in a tower with a fucking tracker sight or thermal. There should be modes like (Camping Preventing) so if you stay in the same spot for about 15 seconds without moving you would be automatically killed. If this were to be implemented, this game would have some hope.

Sticky Rice Nobody wants a game like that. I am friends with people who are associated with war and when they jump on video games they just want to have fast paced action games like CoD. When people camp like they do in battefield with some motherfucking LMG pisses me off, because it ruins CoD's image

Let's just say, the multiplayer, yeah it was ok. But the campaign (which I normally play COD for is excellent!)
I like how there is a really family in the game. Elias the Dad, Hesh and Logan the brothers. Into the Deep was great plus LOKI
Imo maps are waaay to big for 6v6 and on PS3 at least there is no ground war, when you get maps like stonehenge or whatever the name is on 6v6 all it really is is running through a whole enemy team sniping from some location that you cannot reach... it would take 3 minutes of running...

Yea, I've noticed that people who used to play ghost are playing ghost again because they say for some reason that advanced warfare sucks and they don't like it after owning the game for a month now. I still play ghost on xbox currently
It's not that advanced warfare sucks it doesn't at all in my opinion cuz all the new features are pretty cool but im getting a halo vibe from it and idk I just can't get into it same with halo 4 and 5 now there becoming too much like cod so now I lost the feel for that whole series. There's something about ghosts tho that stands out for me.

I both love and hate Riley. I love having him assist me and get revenge when I get killed, but he should not be an instant kill. No dog in the world just bites your arm and then goes for your throat with an instant death. You should at least have the chance to fight him off once and get one more second when you get up to shoot him before he attacks again. Right now, he's OP at close range.

To add more salt to the wound, Even if someone has Juggernaut armor. Doge can go up to that person and bite him once and he will go down no matter what. I really hate that.
Yeah, they should do what they did with Campaign in Modern Warfare titles, where you get a chance to knife after it jumps on you
Also, shoot someone in the face with a pistol, 2 shot kill, knife their foot, instant death.

Seriously this game sucked very badly. And before people start calling me a Battlefield fanboy hear me out I started off on cod waw (best cod game ever my opinion) I used to be such a fanboy for cod until I played battlefield 3 (Half a year after bo2 came out) I was just amazed, but I still liked bo2 very much but then I saw the trailer for ghost it was horrible but I decided to give it a chance so I bought it (sadly) I was extremely disappointed ghost was worse than mw3 it was just horrible it looked nearly exactly like bo2 (graphic wise) and there was too little health extinction was okay although but over all I would put it as the worst game I've ever played (bf4 was also bad) I think all BIG next gen games were bad (is said big because of games like knack and others that weren't big and they weren't that bad) If you want a good next gen game wait till Borderlands 3 comes out in a year or 2 (Borderlands is just so awesome) (this is my opinion of the game and most peoples opinion please do not hate although it's the internet so people my age are very immature I know because I used to be like that until I realized I was being idiotic so obviously there's gonna be hate and there are also fanboy's who can't tell what a good game is just please don't hate)

I feel like I'm the only one (out of all my friends I am atleast) but I prefer ghosts over advanced warfare idk but after all the patches the game seems to be fixed compared to when ghosts was first thrown at us. To me tho it plays smoother and I prefer the multiplayer. Ghosts campaign was a weak one but still had cool events happen but seems very recycled. Extinction was ok the map packs added variety to it which added more fun compared to the original boring extinction.

I though AW was better because it broke the element of COD but held on to what was needed for it to be a COD game. I also preferred the AW single player because it was a ton of fun with exo suits.

darthoiPhone its a famouse joke that went around while ghosts was being programed because the devolopers where so hyped about that the fish during campaign had the AI of a potato and they swam away....later i found out that they swam away in rocks and boulders if i chased them....

the maps sucked. they were HUGE and unplayable. the campaign was terrible. like just plain bad. The shotguns sucked, snipers were really wonky, I didn't like the graphics (everything is blue and orange) it's just a little weird. the people who played it were less than enjoyable to play with(didn't go for objective, just cared about K/D). I did pretty well at the game but I didn't play it for more than a week before I was just plain mad and wanted my money back. :(

Lots of people says you die so fast, no one really cares that Treyarch hit detection is so awful, in my opinion. Treyarch: Graphics, zombies, the games name. Infinity Ward: Campaign, gameplay, MLG instinct.
wazy NE I actually liked AW better than Ghosts. I have both and Ghosts just played weird to me... I wasn't a fan of any of the older ghost maps, and the new maps were just ok. I think the game is like a 5/10 for me just because, it was nothing new, some things were good ideas in reason but just didn't come through. AW however was like a 7/10 for me. It was new and exciting. The double jumping and exo movements were fun for me, until i got tiered of them like two months ago. BO3 looks really good to me.
When the gameplay switched from Ghosts to Black Ops 2 I realized just how amazing the Ghosts graphics are
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is the worst Call of Duty ever, and here's why.
Graphics:Black Ops 2 has some of the most bizarre graphics I have even seen, far to colourful, everything is too shiny and to clean to be anything like a real battlefield.
Gameplay: Knifing in this game is impossible, trying to knife someone else WILL result in instant death. Many guns are way to overpowered, same with killstreaks. They removed my favorite game mode, Hardcore CTF!!!! Recoil on alomost all guns is way too little, requiring no skill to shoot far ranges. Too many kids under 17 in this game that are very annoying and ruin the game for everyone. The lag in this game, when online, makes it an unplayable mess.
All the good things in this game like the campaign, pick 10, perks, and maps are overshadowed by the other, game-breaking problems that I explained.
Ghosts has better severs, better balanced guns and killstreaks, better animations, improved pick 10 style system, more realistic sounds(footsteps, gun sounds, enviroment sounds) and more realistic gun recoil. All this with the look of the new engine, makes Ghosts a much better game. (In my humble opinion)

I loved black ops 2, and i can explain agianst most of your points.
First, i think that bops Being colorful is a good change, and adds a little more fun then if everything is grey and boring and dull (kinda like ghosts)
Next, knifing is actually not hard, it doesn't look the prettiest, but is very good when used correctly.
Also, there are over powered guns and score streaks. I can see that point!
About the kids, that is not the games fault, and you can mute them.
As for lag, almost every game i play i have 3 bars, and don't lag one bit.
I stand by some of what I said but i do believe that the colours are not that bad and the stupid little kids can be muted. Lag may vary but I find that a lot of people say that the lag can be game-breaking. I do see what your saying.

Reasons I hate the Call of Duty franchise
1: After Call of Duty 4, in my opinion the best of the franchise and one of the best shooters with balanced game play of all time (if you have a problem with juggernaut and the M16 that is a discussion for another time), I feel as if the developers since then have made either unfinished games or just bad games in general. For example at no point in MW2 was there not a unbalanced part of the game play during its reign with 4 patches/updates (Models, Spaz, and Danger close).
2: the obvious that was mentioned IT COMES OUT EVERY GOD DAMN YEAR. Please for Christ sake i know you can make a good effing game if you took a year or two to freaking make it.
3: The game itself is shipped intentionally unfinished and releases the other half of the game through DLC. From what I can tell COD started this trend of selling one game for the price of two. It is frustrating because of the success it gets and how it has pretty much showed to the video game industry you can do it. (Battlefield)
I mean ship out the whole game and then take two years to make dlc while working on the next game and not just have all this content made already and just sit on your hands salivating at the next opportunity to suck your blind fan base dry. Don't get me wrong I am victim of DLC bleeding, just not for COD, I bought every DLC Mass Efffect and I know most of it was pre made material. But my god I would of paid another 100 dollars for the Citidale DLC just because it was THAT GOOD,(just nerdgasimed over my keyboard)
4. My last reason I dislike the Call of Duty franchise is my biggest reason of all, it is the reason I will never log onto League of Legends for the rest of my life, THE COMMUNITY! Call of Duty community, for the most part, is just a giant piece of antagonizing, self absorbed, self righteous, biased, racist, ignorant, childish, tyrannical, sadistic, Napoleon syndromed, disgusting, alpaca shit. It is just terrible. I know that many of the people who play this game are not like this and many of you are the people who don't talk or just sit in party chat with their friends but the people who do sit in lobbies are just assholes who enjoy to make other people mad or frustrated instead of just having fun playing the game. Like come on there is no need to be a dick head because some one is not as good as you or because you are not as good as someone else at moving pixels.

Great video. This is the kind of video I was looking for.
Ghosts definately brings quite a diffrent experience to the table. Stealth is much more important than in previous CoD titles. And if you're playing on next-gen, then you have to be awesome at CoD to not get trampled on. (at least until more people buy the console) At first I didn't like it, but then I saw how the stealth factor fit in with the theme of the game. It takes some getting used to, but it brings an all around great experience to play.
Nice video Drift0r. Pretty much agree with all your points. But I have a question that Im hoping you could answer. You said that 80%/85% percent of the game was unavalible to you, does that mean that we will get some more weapons and killstreaks that didnt apper in trailers and demos?

I agree with all of these things. Especially the part about the game-modes. When there are 75k players all on TDM, there is no communities for the rest of the other modes. All of the others( Hardpoint and Capture the Flag for example) all have hardcore players and full teams in the lobbies, who all love that game-mode, making it very hard to switch things up and keep the game fresh.
My only complaint is the spawns and snipers. Killstreaks are balanced with less worry about what's in the air. The Helo pilot wrecks!

Back in 2013, I thought I was the only one who liked ghosts. All the comments were something like Oh my Gad, Ghosts suck ****, Ghosts is the worst COD ever, I hope they don't make a Ghosts 2! but a few years later, I started to see waves of nice comments about the game. Many pointed out that it was the last COD that stuck with boots on the ground
The explosive problems in mw2 wasn't danger close's fault, it was the fact that blast mask was nerfed to near pointlessness. Even with blast mask on, you could still die in one hit to a non danger close explosion, let alone one with it on, unless you were at the very edge of it, there'd be very little to benefit at all. Providing a proper counter measure, how ever would only leave yourself to blame for not using it. It would have really helped the game out in general.
Thats just my personal opinion on it anyways.
I have a question. Even though you aid they locked out a large portion of content from the build that you played on, how many guns, perks, (camos, reticles maybe), attachments, character customization options, maps and game modes were there? Did the option for customizing your player card return and what about the emblem creator? Is it default like MW2 & MW3 or can you create your own like in BO 1 & 2? And how much content do you think there will be when the game is completed?

DO NOT BE WORRIED ABOUT BEACH HEAD STUDIOS. Beach Head Studios are the people that post the results of a clan operation and who wins. They also monitor the people while they are playing so that they can see if they are boosting or not. They are very fair and really good at what they do from my perspective at least. Just thought i'd clear some stuff up.

Drift0r makes a great point about the player ratio to game modes available which explains why Heavy Duty was taken out because NOBODY played it. But who really plays hunted or for that matter the FFA version. Come on IW. I would have loved if Demolition was in this game
The launcher he was talking about is not the ODIN strike. It's called the MAAWS Launcher. You fire, and the missile splits into 2 more and follows your lazor. Also, ODIN Strikes can only be used in the map Strike Zone.

Is it just me or does the character only press 6-5-1 in that same pattern when planting the bomb? And also, the character wears gloves while typing in the code that I'm pretty sure are not touch screen gloves :/ .

My biggest annoyance with Ghosts is its 30 seconds countdown for multiplayer game to start. It only takes 10 seconds in BO2. Also Ghosts has way too many campers. I played Ghosts for about 1 week and then decided to go back to BO2.

Funny the thing you were most impressed with (double rendering) is the thing that most people care about the least. I wish they took the man hours spent on double rendering and put those hours into removing the IED, RILEY, Ballistic VESTS, ridiculously OP Support Squadmate, etc etc...

I agree Driftor. That deadeye perk will be way to strong for good players, especially with specialist. Also most kids who play cod can't get a uav so I am not worried about the maniac.

I played Ghosts, and was not impressed. There is something about the format and lay out of the game that is definitely much different than Treyarchs take on the game. It also is a lot different in layout than Modern Warfare was. I think there are multiple things wrong with Ghosts, it's hard to pinpoint each and every single one. But to sum up, I have much more fun playing Black Ops 2 than I do playing Ghosts. Ghosts is the last CoD Title I will ever buy, and hopefully the last they make.
Ghosts may be a great game for professional CoD players, with the levels, and strategic team-play possibilities, lots of guns,etc. But for the average joe, it doesn't seem like it offers the most enjoyable gaming experience.

Developers usually don't push the absolute latest build for a public event, that build could've been months old and most likely was.
Hey Drift0r, if you ever get a chance to talk with the game developers again, tell them to add an announcer notice system of the spawns switching. It would be great if they installed that because you would understand if you play domination and other certain game modes...

The truth is, no matter what mode, gun, perk, streak or package they come up with, it all comes down to connection.
Not just COD but every other online multiplayer has this issue.

I heard rumors that there was a two second delay between scoping in and being able to shoot on an sniper in this game.
Ghost's multiplayer is OK except for the maps, these maps have building interiors that are the size of rust(in map terms, Its a bathroom compared to the other maps but in ghosts its a small bedroom
Have fun. It's gone. BTW the build he played was ALPHA which was before Quick Scoping was Heavily Nerfed/Removed.
My skill at this game is very distinct even though I usually get like an hour of multiplayer gameplay.
I won't lie, I enjoy CoD and liked BO2 (albeit I never owned it because I felt there were more worthy game, but rented it from Redbox whenever I felt like it), but Ghosts feels like there's so many problems in the player connections alone. Whenever I would get killed by someone it would seem like they only hit me with one bullet, but when it switches over to the kill-cam, they were apparently filling me with bullets for a whole second. When you die is actually the worst part of the game imo, just because of that blank screen that pops between when you die and you see the kill-cam is just such a disconnect that it pulls me out of the game.
When you watch Ali As video on this map, you notice that he's the one sprinting around in the Maniac suit.
The good: Campaign
Campaign is super exciting and fun. there are cliches yes, but it still is super fun going around underwater, through jungles, etc. etc. (no sarcasm intended)
The bad: MultiPlayer
Where do i start? The maps are bad (Besides Strikezone, Frieight, and Octane, three very fun maps), the guns are ok, none really "OP". but the whole currency thing like from bo2? just no.....
