@MikaelArkangilaight but the context of this song has always been more than that. The Jacobins were about the furthest left faction that had existed since the diggers in the region and La Marseilles was a tune of choice sung by basically every socialist revolutionary from 1848 to 1917, often adding their own lyrics. The international is playing so well because I think those words were put to this tune before the one we know it for.
Also: bourgeois revolutions from monarchy are absolutely a thing to celebrate and a key necessary step to reaching socialism. The USSR failed at every stage because they skipped that stage and had a nation of people unaccustomed to democracy or Liberty so they demanded neither which allowed it to take the shape of a red dictatorship which has hurt leftist progress.
Cheers, Comrade Jack! For you bring life into the old songs of the proletariat. We are grateful to you and your wonderful talent! Let the red flag of the emancipation and brotherhood shine across the Earth! One day...
Absolutely beautiful. You’ve sung each lyric with such passion and care; it’s absolutely brilliant. I have been dealing with a lot lately, and now I am currently dealing with becoming homeless in a few weeks. However, this song and the way you have sung it lifted my spirits and is inspiring me to keep fighting. Thank you for all that you do and for helping push the human race forward with your music.
Absolutely glorious. As the French communists used to say : let's push the French Revolution to its final conclusion. Rousseau and Robespierre all the way !
This is just fantastic, i always wondered what the original international that was sung to the tune of la marseillaise sound sound like, and this is just amazing!
This one is out of the world, omg... The combination of these two inspiring song is marvelous, and I can really feel the emotions ín your voice. I hope the protestors of France will succeed, because it cannot be considered a law that is not directly approved by the people. Greetings from Hungary! Vive la revolution, vive la France!🇫🇷🔥
Always love your music. and will often find myself coming back to Einheitsfrontlied and Which Side Are you On in particular. There's just something about your delivery of the lyrics I can't stop listening to. Love your stuff, always will.
So nice to see you singing the Internationale as it was originally meant to be sung, well done comrade! This time I recommend listening to the Italian socialist/communist song “Lo spaventapasseri”, it’s an anti-war song dealing with the face a scarecrow is way more useful than a general!
Not L'Internationale, but listeners may like to hear Serge Gainsbourg's reggae version of La Marseillaise. It created a controversy back then, a bit like Jimi Hendrix's version of the US anthem.
By and large my favorite of yours, maybe close 2nd would be "Aint Been Called a Red" or "Hold The Fort." Though i have to say this ties for me with "The Last Internationale" this to me is the rousing call, "Last Internationale" is a more somber song, a final call out of desperation. On another note, could you do Unsere Panzerdivision? I always loved the song, and wonder how it would sound in your style. You are an amazing musician, cheers! Edit: I now realize Last Internationale is the artist who made the song, and Jack was covering it. The song is actually "Workers of the World, Unite!" I apologize for this mistake.
Arise, ye pris'ners of starvation! Arise, ye wretched of the earth! For justice thunders condemnation! A better world's in birth! A better world's in birth! No more tradition's chains shall bind us! Arise, ye slaves, no more in thrall! The earth shall rise on new foundations. We have been naught -- we shall be all! 'Tis the final conflict! Let each stand in their place! The International Union shall free the human race! 'Tis the final conflict! Let each stand in their place! The international working class shall free the human race! We want no condescending saviors to rule us from their judgment hall! We workers ask not for their favors, let us consult for all! Let us consult for all! To make the thief disgorge his booty! To free the spirit from its cell! We must ourselves decide our duty, we must decide and do it well! 'Tis the final conflict! Let each stand in their place! The International Union shall free the human race! 'Tis the final conflict! Let each stand in their place! The international working class shall free the human race! The law oppresses us and tricks us! Wage-slavery drains the worker's blood! The rich are free from obligations, their laws the poor delude! Their laws the poor delude! Too long we've languished in subjection; equality has other laws! "No rights," says she, "without their duties, "No claims on equals without cause!" 'Tis the final conflict! Let each stand in their place! The International Union shall free the human race! 'Tis the final conflict! Let each stand in their place! The international working class shall free the human race! Behold them, sitting in their glory: the kings of mine and rail and soil! What have you read in all their story but how they plundered toil? But how they plundered toil? Fruits of workers' toil are buried in the strong coffers of a few. In working for our restitution, we will only ask our due! 'Tis the final conflict! Let each stand in their place! The International Union shall free the human race! 'Tis the final conflict! Let each stand in their place! The international working class shall free the human race! Toilers from shops and fields united! The Union we of all who work! The world belongs to us, the workers! No room here for the shirk! No room here for the shirk! How many on our flesh are fattened! But, if the noisome birds of prey shall vanish from the sky some morning, the blessed sunlight still will stay! 'Tis the final conflict! Let each stand in their place! The International Union shall free the human race! 'Tis the final conflict! Let each stand in their place! The international working class shall free the human race!
Can you do a woody guthrie cover? Hes the best socialist musician in american history. Would really like to hear a cover of "miss pavlichenko" since its his most explicitly antifascist song. Plus there isnt a decent cover of it.
Biblically accurate Internationale
More like Bibically accurate Marsiealle, the song is literally about class revolt against monarchism and for democracy
@MikaelArkangil I was talking about the song

Ever since I first read that the Internationale was originally meant to be sung to La Marseillaise I’ve tried to find a version of it. Amazing!
i would love to hear this sung in french as well
Same
Very soon

L'Internationale, Sera le genre humain.
Wow! That piano quality is fantastic! What a beautiful rendition of such a rare version of L'Internationale. Thank you, comrade!

Very upflifting and nicely arranged👍
Beautiful, Jack! You are a true comrade, and I thank you for your art!
OMG I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS SINCE THE SHORT!!! Beautiful keep it up!!!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is what the Haymarket martyrs sung as they were hanged.
Vive la Commune! 🚩
hello Jack! I'm from Russia, I want to wish you good luck, you are great!
Based, or even better, basé
Absolutely fantastic, I've been waiting since the practice video! And victory to the French strikers!
So this is what you were working on, internationale: extended version.
Wow, that was much more amazing than I thought it'd be! Congrats!
I've been excited for this since I saw the short and its so beautiful.
How is it that all these years Monsieur Jack has NEVER recorded a song that isn’t fantastic? Must be the power of Anarchy, best guess I can give 🤷♀️
Thank you for this! I was just trying to figure out how to sing this and then you popped into my feed!
This is such a beautifully constructed compilation. This makes me feel things so deep in my heart, and wet in my eyes ;') ♡♡♡
Thanks for this beautiful song !

I did this when I learned the tune! Glad to see it done by such a great musician like you! ❤

Coming back to this today for no particular reason
How profoundly based, merci beaucoup!!

You should make a version of version of einheitsfrontlied or whatever revolutionary song using Ain’t I right
that would be funny
Broke: Ain't I right?
Woke: Ain't we right, comrade?
"Ain't I right?"
More like "Ain't we left?"
WOO!!!!

this is good, the subtitles are a bit off though
My brain keeps expecting the next line to be in French then I get confused then remember it’s the Internationale

How long have you been playing piano for? How long did it take you to learn? Just curious
Which version is this?
These are the American lyrics sung to the Marsailles

Even more explicit than "all you fascists bound to lose" and "tear the Fascists down" because those are hard to get more explicit than.
