Another very good video, I agree with everything you said. I own a 2017 Cobra, a 2020 Python and a 2021 Anaconda. You really have to see in person and shoot a 2021 Anaconda to fully understand how good of a job Colt did on this gun. The 2021 Anaconda may be the greatest double action revolver Colt has ever made and believe me....that is saying something.
@@TerryBenton I found two 4.25 New Anaconda models at my LGS yesterday. The first time I have ever seen the 4.25" version and Colt did an outstanding job. The finish is very bright stainless and has perfect fit. The balance, for being a large frame shorter barrel, is still very good and fits well in the hand. I was impressed with the ergonomics and balance on the 4.25" model. The factory stock sights and grips are crap, but don't worry - Wilson Combat has the new set of sights and Altamont has the nice wood grips. Overall, a very nice gun that would be well worth adding to your collection.
Great point about shooting your guns and not locking them away and never enjoying them. I was watching an episode of Jay Leno's Garage one night. He was driving his 1999 Corvette (I have a '98) and he said the following, paraphrasing: "I don't understand guys that don't drive their cars. A guy told me one time that he has a 1966 Ferrari with only 18 miles on it. I asked him; 'Is your wife still a virgin?" LOL!!!!
White Grips are just plain Badass. My brother owns a 1906 Smith and Wesson snub nose whith white ivory grips. My Colt Python 6 inch I'm picking up in December.
Wilson Combat makes a upgraded rear adjustable sight and upgraded front sight that really make the Colt Anaconda a superb revolver. Glad you put those on your Colt Anaconda. It is the best reasonably priced 44 magnum double action made. Period.
Hey Terry I finally got my Anaconda. A 6” one. My buddy got a 4” one. I purchased a set of Altamont grips made of wood with silver logo and a silver rampant horse and and they look great. I put a pic rail on it with an optic. I’m not sure I will keep the pic rail and optic. I own the 1st gen Anaconda that I purchased in 1990 which has a red dot. I also have a 1st gen python and will eventually purchase a new python. As I said in the past your presentations a very good and I enjoy them. Ricky from IBM Englewood, FL
That is super cool. I am glad you got it. I hope you enjoy it. They just released a new python elite with an unfluted cylinder. It looks pretty cool. Google it and check it out
@@TerryBenton WOW did not know that. My buddy will be very interested in that. When he was early in his LEO career he carried an original Python and has purchased one of the new versions of the Python. Ricky
Colt strengthened the frame and used a full 1.9 inch long cylinder on the new Anaconda. That means the 340 grain 44 magnum Buffalo Bore +P+ load and the Garrett Cartridges of Texas 330 grain Hammer Head hard cast loads to drop the biggest game animals worldwide.
I owned a older anaconda and I loved it. It was a great weapon I was shooting a quarter in group at 50 yards with open sights with factory ammo or with my reloads. It had a 8 inch barrel. I have a new one now and I love it also it has the 8 inch barrel also.
I own the 2020 python and love it .. but to be totally honest I also own the 2021 anaconda with 8 inch barrel and I actually think it’s smoother in the traction than the python colt may have had a few issues with the new python but wow they knocked the ball out of the park on the anaconda well done colt no one does a revolver quite like colt !!
I love mine. Just picked it up saturday. Unfortunately mine needs the barrel turned into the frame a touch more to line it up. Even with the rear sight all the way to the right, it's still shooting left.
@@TerryBenton no, didn't feel like dealing with sending my gun off and waiting weeks for something I can do myself. I have the tools and turned the barrel in a touch. Shoots dead on now with sights in the center. As it should have from the start
Colt definitely was riding off their military contract hence they were putting out subpar products and having the anaconda use the trooper MKIII/king cobra coil spring system!
That's a great finish. What do you use to clean it after shooting? Will certain chemicals damage the finish? What should be used to keep the original finish looking new?
I have the 8 inch model. I bought some altamont grips for mine but switched back to the factory rubber. I can't stand the gap between the back of the trigger guard/grip.
My 2021 Python was smooth after a couple of boxes of ammo, but the Anaconda takes it up two levels! The double action is slicker than whale snot, and the single action is so light that if you miss the bullseye, it's all you!
The "White Glovers" whispering so they won't hurt their safe-queen Snake guns. That's the funniest thing I've heard describing some of these collectors. I'm still laughing!
Are those still Boone Trading Company grips from your other video? I looked for smooth finish synthetic ivory and they only had the oversized plow style grips not the finger grooves. I ordered em anyways cause they look about the best other than say badger customs for $300.
How does the new colt anaconda's 44 mag smoothness of operation compare to Smith & Wesson's 357 magnum? And is the old colt 44 inferior to other manufacturer's 44? I'll be watching your comparison video.
The current production costs offer the Anaconda in 8 inch. The longest python they offer is 6 inch. I habe a couple of other videos on the other colt revolvers. Check them out

@@TerryBenton I shot it today for the first time. I do like the gun but the sights were off. I think I have them set for now. The Wilson sights are in my future. Also the trigger hesitated to reset twice. I only shot about thirty rounds. It's probably just something that got stuck in the action from shipping.
