Love this great classic song from Ben E. King back in 1961. The Home Free guys did an awesome version as always. Love their arrangement on this cover. Great vocal leads by Austin & Rob. Tim's bass really stands out for me in this one. And Adam's tasteful vocal percussion is on point.

The guys all did a fantastic job on this song with harmonies that can't be beat! Like the "cherry on top", we had the beautiful duet of Austin and Rob! I would love to see those two guys make a cd/dvd together. Just Austin and Rob as they sound so good together!

First the LP, later I always had it on one of my cassette tapes, then I got the CD and in recent years I usually have it on one of my playlists. Although many versions had been released in the meantime, it was usually the version by Ben E. King or Otis Redding. But from now on it is the version of Home Free that is on my playlist and no other.😊💖 Alternating the lead between Austin's powerful voice and Rob's silky soulful voice just sounds so beautiful and fantastic. Then the unparalleled vocal percussion, truly phenomenal. The great bass and beautiful harmony are the finishing touch.❤

I always loved Ben E. King's original & I think he'd approve of their rendition. One of the (many) things I love about HF is how they let the music speak for itself. Their singing, harmonies & beatboxing are impeccable - the song would be ruined by theatrics. Thanks for playing this & your comments.

It's a good cover and they gave it their spin. However, like 99% cover, it doesn't hit me as good as the original which in this case is Ben E King. I highly recommend checking that out as well.
Is Home Free smooth, absolutely. But for me they are more into being technically perfect than they are making it real. I'd pick Ben E. King's version any day. It has heart and soul and stirs real emotions. No real slam to Home Free, they are really good at what they do... They're just not for me.
