I been watching videos all night and this has been the best one so far I have a very important meet tomorrow and I need that extra push to be in the top 3
I think I see what I've been doing wrong. I've been throwing from the top down instead of starting with the feet, legs, hips etc. Bascially, I've been doing arm throws. No wonder I can't get beyond a certain distance. Thanks for the clear instructions.
at about 2:03 yes your hips and legs should rotate but if you want speration from the lower body to your upper body (rotational wise) you need to keep your chest back. if you pause at 2:03 it is obvious that you "opened up" in the middle of the demonstration which would lose all the(what little :P) rotational energy you can have. albiet you do have the lift part of the throw down pretty nicely. overall good vid :)
if you have a stronger back its better to unhinging with your back and then throw, not your hips first. but then again i can dead lift a shit ton.. using my back i can power position throw 40 ft. with a 12lbs shot, hips only around 35

So heavy it is a orange
The orange look's a little heavy for you. Lol
What if I'm using a real shot? Not an orange?
Actually it is illegal to throw the shot. You have to put (originally spelt putt) the shot.
It is obvious what he is trying to show, it is obvious that you're not suppose to throw the shot
Kappo Indeed. Therefore the word throw should not be used.
At 0:30 am I the only one that thought it was an orange?
