      More of a coincidence the one in Hawaii took 38 minutes to retract. Takes about that long to shoot down a missile

      qpaoziwu They would have been able to see and track the missle, the fact they couldn't and that the guy is apologizing are how the know it was a mistake.

      There are 5 steps you have to take to send out an alert that was not a false alarm in Hawaii

    NHK is apologizing after issuing a false alert that said North Korea had probably launched a missile and warned people in Japan to take cover.
    The false message was sent in Japanese shortly before 7 PM local time on Tuesday. It went out through the public broadcaster's Japanese apps and website.
    A few minutes later, NHK corrected the wrong information. There are no reports of problems caused by the mistake. NHK says a switching error is to blame.
    The incident comes just days after officials in the US state of Hawaii issued a false missile alarm and caused panic.

    Live in Japan, have a Japanese cell phone, got the last 2 real missile messages. Did not get a message today. (Do not have NHK app, but legit heard nothing on TV, or anywhere else either) Not quite sure (despite western coverage) this is legit... still doing research.

    In my opinion we are listening to North Korea or have intelligence there giving reports and the Intel gathered said they were launching missiles the first target was Hawaii but either the missiles were shot down or malfunctioned and now today with Japan the same thing happened. These are not drills or accidents I'd say these were real threats.

    There are redundancies built into the early warning system. The idea that a single person made a human error and accidently sent out a false alarm simply does not hold water. Two scenarios seem more likely to me. One is that NK launched or attempted to launch a ballistic missle that was subsequently shot down. The other is that NK hacked the system to incite panic or worse, to determine if they could control the system. In either case, it is plausible the government would not disclose either scenario to prevent even greater panic than was caused by the "false alarm. Three presidents (representing both major parties) failed in preventing NK from attaining nuclear war capability. Our current president, whether you love him or hate him, now carries the burden of resolving the most critical issue of this generation.

    • @oihaoihjoiwefjwef
      @oihaoihjoiwefjwef 6 лет назад +1

      I think the hacking is more plausible, notice that the alarm sirens in both cases didn't ring off...

    • @mikeloftis5919
      @mikeloftis5919 6 лет назад

      That's a good point. The question is who would be motivated to hack the systems? I don't doubt NK's leader is crazy enough to do it as a provocation but he's also sentient enough to know it would end very badly for his country. Chinese? Russians? Deep state actors? The list is long and we'll likely never know.

    • @oihaoihjoiwefjwef
      @oihaoihjoiwefjwef 6 лет назад

      Also, only japan and united states got the false alarm. Why not South Korea? One theory is because of the Olympic games; North Korea wants to participate to these, and it wouldn't be too wise to hack the host of the games...
