- 🔥🔥 How to fit Stove Rope. Very easy to fit and makes such a difference compared to the old one that is frayed and hanging off! Make your stove efficient again.
This took about 5 minutes to fit, more time to clean all the old adhesive off but so easy. You need to leave the cement to set for 12-24 hours though. For hardly any money and just a little time, make your stove burn efficiently again.

You should always put the joint at the bottom of the door according to the manufacturers
Brilliant thanks. Got my rope. Having a bit of trouble getting the adhesive locally but soon as I have it it will get done.
Just a little tip, i clean my glass with the ash from the fire either with news paper or paper towel No effort at all.. thanks for showing how to replace rope.

Useful video! I had a go at doing it myself on a stove i use outside in the garden as a patio warmer and i put some 10mm rope around the door like you did but seemed that the door shut but not as fully or easily as it should.
Is the rope diameter too thick or do you want it to be larger than smaller?
I had the same issue recently. The rope diameter does make a difference. Have a look at the hinge side though, you should be able to unscrew the hinge bar from the inside to let it out a little more so that the door fits flush across the front. If not, then yes, get a thinner rope unfortunately

How do I adjust the door like you have mentioned?
@@mattseymour8637 If yours is anything like mine, you lift the door off the hinge then the bit that stays attached to the stove will probably have a bar going through the stove itself. This bar will have two nuts on it, one on the outside and one on the inside (they basically clamp the hinge to the front of the stove). These are what you have to loosen to move the hinge out slightly. If you are struggling with it or don't want to try, step down to an 8mm rope perhaps. I will say, you have to play around to get the door level if you start messing with the hinges.
Is there a difference between the gasket used for woodburning stoves and oil burning stoves? Can i use gaskets made for wood burning stoves, for an oil burning stoves?
If it is just an air seal, you should be fine

No, just cut the rope with a sharp knife and try to make sure there is no gap between the ends 👍🏻😁
