The drum in the beginning of Reflection is an electric Wavedrum. Danny uses a foot pedal which allows him to adjust the tone of the drum similar to the way a tympani can be tuned. I got goosebumps thinking about you going to the Tool concert. I just saw them for the 5th time at AfterShock last week and it was a truly magical experience. They played Rosetta Stoned for the first time since 2009 and I loved every second of it. I'm excited for you!
Great video. In case no one has mentioned it, I highly recommend taking a look at Tool's Salival album before continuing on to 10,000 Days. I don't usually like live performances due to audio quality but this is an exception. Cheers.
Great Reaction! One of my favorites! Tool is therapy for me, these songs are introspective. Intention gets me in a meditative mood to release your cares and watch the weather change. Reflection reminds us to not focus and cater on ourselves (Ego) and realize life flows through us into others. If we can crucify the Ego (I have to every day), we will not pine away (become thin and weak because of sadness or loss). Triad is the mental crucifixion of my Ego: the driving rhythms, screams of agony, twisting sounds from the guitar. Tool is a tool that helped me change for the better and how I think about others and myself.
Reflection is at the tippy top of the mountain for me!! Masterful composition all the way around, it's like its actually alive! You know it's an amazing thing to write this stuff but to make it sound like THIS, good grief man!! Love these guys!
You’re gonna love the concert in January! Saw them in Kelowna a few weeks ago, was an amazing show that left me with a new appreciation for their music.
