The Burroughs - Mt Rainier July 28, 2022

From Sunrise Visitor Center, The Burroughs trail is an out-and-back of nearly 9 miles, but can be done as a loop trail from the First Burrough. There is also a Third Burrough, with a clear trail, although it is not on any trail signs or maps. I hiked it the last week of July, and there were still several steep and slippery snow fields to cross, so check conditions with Park Rangers before attempting. A less-crowded way to get up close to Rainier, an alternative to the popular Skyline Trail that starts at the Paradise Visitor Center. Very exposed, so have sunscreen and lots of water!
