  • Stretched the hammer spring to see if it made a difference to the power. It did but not by much. Average before was 178 mps and after was 180 mps using 8.05 grain marksman pellets.

Insert a small spring inside the hammer spring.
Change the airchamber spring for a weaker one.
Dril the tp up to about 3 or 4 mm.
Polish everything like hammer, trigger....just all.
Remove fabric grease and clean then insert high quality grease.
!!last but not least enlarge the gaschamber with 5mm in dept with a flat bottom...importent.
Made my cp1 from a toy in to a little beast😎😎😎
    Succes

@@mrbrown1.084 hey man i have a question, do i only need to drill the brass TP or do i also have to drill the other 2 holes that brass TP connects?

Received wisdom (TR,Robb) is no more than 3.5mm for the 177, 4.0mm is for the 22. If you are going to drill, use a reamer, drill bits are inaccurate, slightest off-centre and they drill wide.
If you want to improve regulation sleeve the valve chamber as with the Crosman 2300S to reduce its volume. Greater power will not kill vermin if you keep missing it.
What we have with the CP2 is in pistol configuration as with the CP1 it seems intended as a 10m target pistol, which want 440-500fps with a wadcutter. >3.5-ft-lb to >=4.5-ft.lb. Which is more than enough to kill a rat if you can hit it. That spec rather limits the rifle performance; it is not a

In my new CP2 Camo pistol/rifle kit, I took the original
hammer spring and stretched it to 90 mm long.
This gave modest increase in powered shots.
Then I inserted an equal length compression spring which fitted inside
the stretched original spring exactly. Now a big increase power.
Now make clean holes thro' the bottom disc of a steak tin can and shreds
the rest of the can, no dints ever, just straight thro' the metal.
By fitting a Red Dot sight I get tight grouping on paper targets, easier then
using the fixed sights. Note the plastic stock basically is not long enough
to reach a mans shoulder. Best small sized gun slip appears to be the
Crosman 2240 Ratcatcher " Ratbag" --- but its out-of-stock at most Dealers sadly.

Wouldn't stretch the spring why not just put in a stronger one

Its just a tad over the limit in pistol form.. Its doing slightly over 6flbs of energy with a 8gr pellet.

silverbackdp that’s what I thought. Its 8 to 9 in rifle form from stock isn’t it.

Hi Philip, have you any plans on doing a quick video on replacing the valve body o ring and where it goes?

  • @phantomshtter

Stretching a compression spring does nothing but weaken its tensile strength. It will go right back to how it was originally turned and have a shorter life span now. You can't alter a spring with any gains but congrats on fucking it up I guess?

  • @TheGijow

Well, maybe a stronger spring will raise power?

      Giovanni Junqueira Lemes
Yes, I will be trying a stronger spring when I can get my hands on one. I may try a smaller spring inside the original spring first. Had a look at the transfer port this morning and the valve, barrel hole and transfer port have the same diameter hole, so may look at enlarging those after the hammer spring is sorted. 600 FPS is pretty good and I only use the gun to shoot targets and cans, but I like to try and up the power if I can.

I spent out on a stronger spring, rather than stretch the original, made barely any difference to the FPS, but did increase the trigger resistance....waste of time!
