This was good until you got to the last one about reactions. Many 9s are oblivious to anger and would not even recognize that's what they feel. I suggest in that section you modify or add a comment there because anyone who is stuck in being a 9 wouldn't relate to anger at all.
Yup, I'm with you guys as a 1. Until the Enneagram, I thought I was a head person (strong T on Meyers Briggs) and it's taken me a while to learn to listen to my body. Anger is not the first thing I feel when blindsided, I wonder what I missed, did wrong, etc. how to fix it.
lol im a intp 9w1 and for the last one I related to the 2nd statement the best (567) and kind of the 1st (234) but rarely the last one, so yeah maybe revise this.
It’s funny. As a nine, when bad things happen I usually just go all apathetic and unmoved. But when I think about it, when something really bad happens or if I’m forced to be involved I get very angry. As if I needed more affirmation that I was a nine. XD Thank you very much for this. It was very helpful.
I've always been more of an MBTI person, and just learned today about Enneagram. So in 3 hrs of research on RUclips but no real testing, i was feeling like a 4w5, and your video pretty much nailed it down. Thank you it was very informative.
I already know my type, but this did not match up. I’m a 9, and I had two of 5 different types (I tried to act as if I knew nothing). I think it’s difficult for 9s because we can see all sides, that we often identify with every type but our own
SAME! I’m a 100% 9 through and through but tried to act as if I didn’t know as well. I ended up with 7, 1, 2, & 6 after the first two questions. The last question I totally could’ve responded with all three of the emotions equally depending on what the situation was. But if I did choose anger, which was 8, 9, & 1, then my highest number would’ve been 1, and I’m not a 1 at all, I’m a 9 w8! 🤣
Thank you for this video. I have been struggling for a long time trying to figure out my type. Couldn’t figure out if I was a 2 or a 9 . Both seemed applicable to me from what I read, and the quizzes I’ve taken. However, after circling 2 in all 3 rows and not a single 9 I know I am a 2. I also think I figured out that I’m a wing 1 as that was my second most consistent number.
I have been discussing enneagram with some new to this learning. For me, the last of your 3 questions is a helpful place to start, to narrow the focus of category. The specifics of each type can overlap or get confused among others. Words mean differ the things to different people, especially when applying to themselves.
1. 1, 2, 5, 6, 8, 9 2. 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 9 3. 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 In conclusion = I am a mess of a person. But also a 6w5 , so this is accurate :) I did get three 2's but I feel that's a secondary part of myself.
Looks almost just like mine lmao and I’m a mess too. I believe I’m 6w7, and bounce back and forth with a lot of 2 as well. Haha. 1: 2, 6, 9 2: 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 9 3: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7
Because the Enneagram has a lot to do with defense mechanisms, I think it'd really be cool if there was a short test based on the "bad habits" of each type. Thoughts? When you're low on energy, what are some unhealthy habits/reflexes you default to?

OMG I stumbled on the enneagram years ago and after many online tests and repeated tests, it said i was a 7W8, i followed this video and i'm undoubtedly an 8W7, no wonder i didn't completely resonate before.... Now it resonates, fantastic video x
Once we stumble on our real main type, it changes everything. I was mistyped by a test multiple times, once I took the time to figure out what I was, it was awesome to see the growth that happened.
I'm attending a weekly enneagram workshop, and this video is 100 million times better at explaining the stances that anything I've heard in my class! ;)

I did this and I found the first two sections to be fantastic. But for the third one I act or react each of the three ways so I just chose them all. I already knew what I was before this test. And this test still worked quite well.💕
This is really interesting! I’ve been stuck between 4, 5, 6 and 9 for a while and I’ve been really confused which one I am. After doing this I had circled 4 the most but I’m still not sure if I relate to 4’s common hopes and fears (as I didn’t circle this one). In some ways I do but in other ways I don’t so I’m not entirely certain. Weirdly enough for the first question I’d circled 1, 7 and 8 which is really different to my usual results. This was a really interesting way to look into enneagram types though so thank you! 🥰 Update: After having a quick look around I feel like 4w5 might make sense. I’m still not sure if I quite relate to everything but it seems the closest fit to any others I’ve read about! 💛
I'm a 4w5 and I know what you mean about not being sure whether I relate to the hopes and fears or not! Are you an INFP? I watched 'Me, an INFP's video about INFPs as different enneagram types and when she explained the INFP 4w5 it all made sense to me. :)
I’ve noticed that enneagram types often correspond to certain Myers-Briggs types, which could possibly also help with finding your type. For instance, I am an INTP and a type 5, which seems to be a very common combination, as both are known for being very logical analysts, and are often oriented towards finding patterns and have a mutual passion for learning.
its true but can also be very confusing for people who aren’t stereotypical of their MBTI. for example, im an ENFP 3w4, which is not common with my type, its more common on Te doms or INTJs
It's probably better to think of this as a way to narrow the options (INTP could also be 9 or 6 for example) than a 1:1 correspondence. Rare combos do sometimes happen.
I am also an INTP and a 5. The enneagram corresponds to many things, personality disorders for example. An extreme 5 might also be a schizoid. I like that it doesn't pathologize things like a disorder spectrum or require a hard one sided approach like the mb. I am almost 50/50 with respect to N/S and P/J so never felt like the MB did a good job for me.
I already know my type confidently, 5 sx/sp, but here's my answers following along. A: 4 5 6 7 B: third option - 4/5/9 C: Fear/Mind - 5/6/7 The common answer there was indeed 5, though that first question is tough. Being a Christian changes your core desire, and before that, I had mental illness, a big one affecting this being depression from lonliness of being misunderstood - desiring to connect & wanting help in preventing tirggers, feeling helpless/trapped/coltrolled/violated when that wasn't happening. You can see how many in the first question fit into that.
I’ve taken a few tests and have always gotten an 5 which makes sense because I’m an INTJ but with this I got an 8 which I also resonate a lot with! Thank you!
omg thank you!!! i’ve taken like 6 different tests and i couldn’t decide whether i was a 4 or a 9. 4 was my consistent number and i still relate very heavily to 9s but i’m almost sure i’m a 4.
This was a great video! I thought I was a 2 and I got 2 and 3 in all 3 columns. I started learning about the enneagram during covid. Thank you for sharing!
Glad you liked my video! We have more teachings, resources and content on our website: www.theenneagramworkshop.com and over on Instagram @theenneagramworkshop.
This method is useful indeed; simple and smart. I've been figuring myself out between three types at least, and found the consistency with type 4 (with a big 5 wing, have to say). Thanks for sharing, I really appreciate it! 🙏🏻🧠💘
The third question is hard for me - it would depend greatly based on the situation. If it is conceivably something that I could have done to change, it's Response 1. If it's something that I could conceivably do something about moving forward, it's Response 2. If there's nothing I can do about it, it's Response 3.
You sound like an 8. If there is nothing you can do about it and your response is anger/action anyway, you're in the body triad. I was similar except switch 2 and 3. I take action only if I'm fairly certain it will help. If I think there is nothing I can do, it is the trying to understand, probably geared toward prevention. I'm a 5. We're not the most action-oriented bunch but, we do like to solve problems.
I loved this! Thank you. I have made others tests and the result of most of them was 5, but I still in doubt, now I can't deny I am a 5. I recognised myself in the examples that you gave. Thank you.

1: 1, 2, 4, 6 2: 4, 5, 9 3: 5, 6, 7 So for me it was a tie between 4, 5 and 6! I do relate to all of those types so much, though... I usually type as a 4w5 so I'll stick to that :))
awwwww - well, it has revealed one thing... a need for some deeper self-reflection (which we all need from time to time!) Hopefully thinking of the Enneagram through this structure - Triads, Stances, and Basic Fear/Desire can help you organize your self-observation.
I type as 4w5 with other classic tests. I did find this one to actually create more confusion. The very first question left me feeling like might have a lot of core fears and desires. And I know myself very very well. I do a lot of shadow work and self reflection etc. So I dont know..... I'll dive deeper into enneagram. I've been super focused on mbti and socionics but I I enneagram fascinating. Number4, ironically was the most consistent in all 3 rows. If I can afford your session jn the future I'll definitely connect with you !. Your presentation was awesome. GOOD JOB !
Thank you for making this video! It video helps confirm that I am a 1w2 so/sx. I circled 1, 2, 4 and 5 on the first question, circled the dependent triad and withdrawn triad for the second, and I related to the anger triad with the shame triad as a close second. This all makes sense as my first reaction to the unexpected is anger (though I usually try very hard to hide it) and then after the dust has settled I’m ashamed with how I acted and try to do something to rectify.
I am glad to hear that my video helped you find your Enneagram. We love to see everyone's thoughts/comments! We have more teachings, resources and content on our website: www.theenneagramworkshop.com and over on Instagram @theenneagramworkshop.
Row 1: 1 and 5 Row 2: 1, 2, and 6 Row 3: 8, 9, and 1 I guess I'm a 1 that's been mistyped as a 5 for years. What was very revealing for me was the second system about cores. I didn't even realize how dependent I am on feedback from others. I still relate much more to the description of 5 over 1. How do I know which one I am? Every test I take usually has me split pretty evenly between type 1 and type 5.
oftentimes it’s easy to mistype yourselves, and with this kind of summary of types it’s easy to get confused and have different understandings. for me, the easiest to learn about the enneagram is going online to Eclectic Energies. they have a great test (two versions - one long, one short) with loads of information on each type and what everything means. a lot of people are getting multiple numbers. basically, everyone is dominant in one type but many people have a wing (the one type that is next to your dominant type. for example, with a type 6, you could only have a wing of 4 or 5). another thing you may take into account if you’re getting multiple types, are the directions of growth and stress. better known as integrations and disintegrations. looking at the enneagram symbol, you can easily find your integration and disintegration. for integration, simply find your type, and move clockwise, following the line that leads to another type. going off the type 6 example, following that line clockwise leads me to type 9. do the opposite for your disintegration. so starting at type six, move counterclockwise, again following that line, to type three. integration is basically your type gaining the positive characteristics of the other type when you’re feeling your happiest or most positive. on the other hand, disintegration is taking on the negative characteristics of the opposite type when you in distress or most negative. it can be very hard to explain and understand but hopefully this helped a bit. if you have questions feel free to reach out to me or even do more research on your own!!
I got: Row 1 - 4, 9 Row 2 - Stance 3 (4, 5, 9) Row 3 - Can be response 2 or 3 depending on how significant the thing that went wrong was (so 5, 6, 7, or 1, 8, 9) So I guess that means I'm a 9? If so, that'd be pretty surprising, because I tend to test as either 4 or 5, and don't really relate to that many of the online descriptions for Type 9...but yet I can definitely see its peace-seeking motivation in me.
Ok - so you identified with type 4 and 9, and then got the withdrawing stance (which makes sense because both 4 and 9 are withdrawing) and your triad you are still struggling to settle on ... 4's and 9's can be difficult to distinguish between. There are some helpful resources on the Enneagram Institute's website that can aid in understanding the differences between 4 & 9. But you are SO CLOSE!! Don't give up!!
(Long post incoming) Here's the dilemma I have: Type 4 - I really have always felt like a square peg in a round hole for most of my life, and many times when I try to express myself and why I feel the way I do about something, others just look at me like I'm from Saturn & have 15 heads. But I didn't really relate to the Shame triad from your description of it (Question 3), I tend to respond more like a 1 or 6 when I'm really unhealthy (anxious, coldly angry, etc. instead of blaming myself). I also don't really feel like I have to find my creative identity *in my emotions and suffering* per se, but rather it's more of a relational thing. Kind of like my own style of synesthesia is the best way I can describe it. Type 9 - I am extremely conflict averse (especially face to face), I tend to feel continually over-stimulated & seek out quiet and calming environments, and am prone to daydreaming and laziness. But although I like to project otherwise, I am actually someone who feels very strongly about their beliefs and can have a hard time changing for others if I feel they're trying to push me to be somebody I'm not, and I definitely spend a lot of time introspecting and trying to find my true identity in this world. And BTW, I'm 99% confident I am a Withdrawn type, as I am nothing if not an introvert.
@@JFrombaugh "But although I like to project otherwise, I am actually someone who feels very strongly about their beliefs and can have a hard time changing for others if I feel they're trying to push me to be somebody I'm not, and I definitely spend a lot of time introspecting and trying to find my true identity in this world." Just to shed a little light on this part...this is 100% a type 9 sentiment. 9's have a VERY established and strong belief system and perspective, they just don't feel the need to convince others of it. If you agree, great. If not, fine. But 9's are quite stubborn and set in their perspective on things.
@@TheEnneagramWorkshop Okay, thanks for clearing that up, because I always thought Type 9's were, by definition, very malleable people whose opinions & beliefs kind of changed depending on the situation and who it is they're talking to...and that this was one of the key things that set them apart from both 1s & 4s. So I guess I am a 9 after all...and here I was thinking I was a 4 all along.
@@JFrombaugh They will merge in their ACTIONS but stay steadfast in their beliefs and stubborn about their beliefs. They simply fall asleep to their beliefs so they won't make waves, but eventually become resentful because their beliefs are still very strongly held.
Row 1: 1,2,4,7,8, Row 2: stance 2 - 1,2,6 Stance 3 - 4,5,9 Row 3: response 1 - 2,3,4 Response 2 - 5,6,7 So for me it is between a 2 and 4. Time to research a little more. :)
i got two nines and two twos, my result in the longer test was pretty close between two and nine but the result was 9 and i definitely do resonate more with 9 thanks its very accurate! helpful for lots of people
I went on Enneagram Institute, and took the type, and it was accurate. It was only $12 and it was amazing!!! There are so many resources on the site!!!
I've taken a few enneagrams tests and my ego wanted to be a 9 badly. This video was the first test I had taken and the result was a 9 but I knew better. Later, I had taken two more free tests and the results were 1 and 6. I decided to pay for a test and the paid test revealed I was a 1, which was concerning. After pondering over my won and lost endgames, I returned to retake this test, and my result went from a 9 to type 1. I'm currently striving to become a HEALTHY 9.

I believe I am a 6w7 SP (if that’s correct on how to write it out). I wanted to do this test to see how I’d score too. So First row: 2, 6, 9 (which is what I had guessed I was before taking I took any tests) Second row: I’m in between stances 2 & 3 so I had 1, 2, 6, 4, 5 ,9 all marked. Third row: again a bit of response 1 & 2 so I had 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 all marked. Commonalities were 2 & 6 which I’ve been really struggling with deciding between anyway. I have been watching several type 6 videos and a 90 min panel video that really resonated with me but I haven’t had a chance to watch the 2 videos yet. After lots of RUclips, a $12 test, & several other free ones, they all point to number 6 with number 2 & 9 as pretty close behind. I watched a wing video and also took the cloverleaf test and if I am a 6 I am DEFINITELY a wing 7, NOT 5, but again I haven’t watched any 2 wing videos yet either. Then of all the subtypes for 6s, self preservation definitely stood out the most. So all in all, I’d say this is a good test at least to get you thinking about 1 or 2 or even 3 numbers that could be you. I do sooooo much research before deciding on anything so after I look at the 2s videos more I think I should be able to figure out if I’m a 2 or 6 for sure. Side note: throughout all these tests and videos, I’ve found I’m a INFJ as well which is supposedly super rare. So of course I get that one. 😱🤦🏻♀️

Question 1: 1, 2, 4, 5, 7 Question 2: 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9 Question 3: 5, 6, 7 I really can’t decide between a 7 and 5. I suppose that I’m more likely to be a 5 because then I clearly have a 4 wing, but with seven I don’t really relate that much to 8 or 6.

Oh dear! I was relatively certain I am a 7, but in almost *none* of the answers I circled a seven 💀 I might reconsider for a bit! Thank you for the test
I also circled four on the first row (2,4,7,9) and I like to think about experiences as they happen, since I prefer the present. I do analyze them though. I'm a 9w8 so maybe youre a nine too?

Everyone tells me I'm a Five because I'm really introverted and seen as smart. On your test I got no Fives whatsoever. Question 1: Most closely aligned with Eight and Seven. I desire freedom and autonomy. I hate being controlled and will lash out in unpredictable ways to either individuals or societal power dynamics imposing their will upon me. Question 2: First stance. I like progress, actualisation of goals and bringing around a better future, and I'll make sure it happens. Definitely I'm very future oriented, always keeping my mind on a predicted future. 3, 7, 8. Matches up with being an INTJ too, with dominant Ni. Question 3: Anger most definitely. I often have contempt for superiors, especially when they do stupid things. "Incompetent" is one of my favourite words I find. I tend to be really critical of others, even teammates. It's my way of encouraging improvement. People tell me I'm often too harsh and abrasive. "It was the politicians and their corruption that killed my loved one through lack of funding from healthcare." would be my answer to your hypothetical situation. 8, 9, 1. I am an Eight, it appears in all three questions.
do you know Bout mbti? if you do, I would like to know your results I am an intp 9w1. intps and istp can come off as 5, but I and others are 9 (intps are 5, and 9s). the 8 type sounds like entj and estj, yet my dad is entp and type 8. I like learning both because they both explore different parts of our personality and you can learn even more
@@JourneyLT look into 5w6 with the skeptical 6 instead of the loyalist 6. I am a 5, and I relate to your dislike of incompetent authority as well as your desire for everyone to leave you alone and not control your focus and time with interruptions. Also a 5 had an arrow towards 8. I'm more of an INTP though, so take this with a grain of salt. Ian Cron had some decent comments about 6s.
Five is in my tritype, my Self-Preservation Eight tendencies appear similar to a Five, but do so to avoid being controlled, the core motivation of an Eight.
I couldn't figure out my answer to the first question. But I already know my Enneagram type. I'm a 7 so sometimes I have trouble looking deeply in myself, hehe.
wow so interesting! I was originally typed by a friend as an 8 based on some of my outward behavior, but the more I read into the underlying motives I felt it didn't fit. Lately I've been leaning toward 4 but still trying to stay open to 8 in my research. Based on this method, I typed as 4 or 2 ~ I've never gotten 2 before through any other method.
Thanks for your thoughts/comment! We have more teachings, resources and content on our website: www.theenneagramworkshop.com and over on Instagram @theenneagramworkshop.
hey there, I'm an intj and I got type seven, I'm pretty sure it is my right type and there are several reasons why I think I'm a type seven, but I saw people arguing on the internet that an intj could never be a type seven, what I totally understand because there's nothing much optimistic in me if you compare it to others, in fact, people call me pessimistic on my face and I agree because I'm not as enthusiastic as them. I'm totally new to enneagram and I don't understand how I actually work, first I thought it was about core fear and core desire but seems like it's much more than that. my behaviour matches with type five, however my fear and desires just don't get it right. I've been through some things that make me value living life fully more from an early age and I know this is never gonna leave me. I hate having regrets and any sad feelings. I have a grand history of being self-destructive and having serious mental issues and I totally understand if I have those desires and fear because of it. I just wanna be confirmed what type I am. can you tell me if an intj be type 7?
I would not have any of the responses to the last question. If something bad happened and I knew I didnt directly cause it, my instinct would be to think that everything will work out and we'll cross that bridge when we have to. And if, in the moment, that bridge needs to be crossed I'll think of practical solutions, but it typically won't have any emotion attached to it and it won't be focused on preventing any future situations or with any fear of something else happening. Simple practical solutions to the situation at hand with an optimism that it will work out. That's genuinely my gut reaction. I'm a 9w1 but test really high as a 5w4 too (I'm an INTP, so that's where the 5 comes from). Which my answer speaks in some ways to both my 9ness and my intp-ness. I don't have emotional responses to most things because I've spent my whole life trying to be in control of myself as to avoid disrupting my inner harmony and therefore I typically view everything with optimism, but I also innately approach every problem from a practical standpoint solely.
There are some scenarios that I can imagine reacting in either the second or third way, but they're few and far between and usually very dramatic and drastic and hugely impactful scenarios and you seemed to suggest the question wasn't speaking to scenarios like that.
I've now taken 2 enneagram tests (eclectic energies) and got a 2, then a 5. From this video, I had nothing circled three times, but 1, 3, and 8 circled twice and 7 and nine circled once. Thus, I have concluded that I either have no personality or am a 1-2-3-5-7-8-9.
I remember Robert Sheehan did a podcast on enneagram and while reading the types, he wanted to be a 4 - once he completed the test turns out he was a 7 (at least, according to that test). Maybe there's an affinity in certain aspects of both types: not wanting to be tied down, having freedom to be oneself. I think 4s would be more comfortable in melancholy and want to stay in that mood with music/art while a 7 might rather move on from it and not linger... I'm not sure, I'm a 4w5 :)
Hi! Are you still offering the video consultations you mentioned at the end of your video? I’m newer to your channel (though not to the Enneagram) and have really been enjoying your perspective. Thanks for making these for us!
What the enneagram does is point toward core motivations and offer a framework of growth/possible pitfalls. It's great for someone who doesn't feel confidence in their desires or doesn't have faith in their plans (or someone who doesn't make plans)-- But I've realized that, for a lot of people, knowing their enneagram is not important. They know what they want and they know how they want to do it. Following a path of growth can be damaging, even for people who enjoy expending energy, but knowing more about their core motivations won't necessarily give them more ammunition to fire towards their dreams. As a 1w9 that has expanded widely into various areas of growth to "be good" and lost sight of what I was doing along the way, enneagram was massively helpful to me to ground me around a singular mission (which is where I thrive)-- but that isn't for everyone. A very w9 thing to say, eh? XD!
Before watching: I'll probably get 5, but this is an interesting new way to look at it, I'll give it a shot. After: wow, I picked 5 for all of them *pretends to be shocked* That said tho, I usually test as 5w6 and based on this, I'm probably more of a 5w4 which is kinda what I've thought for a while. I also picked 7 for both 1 & 3 which surprised me, because that's never really been on my radar bc I'm such an obvious 5 lol
I came into this with the same thoughts, I'm a 5w4 and sometimes a 5w6... Came out as 5w4 in this one, but also saw two 7s come up which was new. Maybe we need to bring in the Harmony triads or countertypes or subtypes... Figured she was a 4 or a 3, before the video, not surprised by the end to hear of her result. And then laughed to think she made a video about a shortcut for enneagram typing, received several comments about her appearance, and then her appeal at the end offering services for hire. This is such a perfect 3 video, loved it.

Thank you! This was an interesting and unique angle. I thought I was a type 1 in my mid-20s, but in the last 5 years of exposure and sharing in local Enneagram groups, I have been unable to clarify whether I am a 1, 2 or 4. I can relate to a lot of each type and really find myself moving around depending upon day or mood. It’s possible you could help me pin this down, and that would be a very useful service. 🙏🏼💜🙏🏼
oh man I should get the enneagram type book, I'm interested in getting to know more about typology even as a slow learner Anyways on this video I got between a 4 and a 9. Although I had already known that 9 is my core type but wanted to try this out for fun.

Did it again, just to see if I changed Question 1 - 4 and 8. I like to have my own identity and unique form of expression, and I like to be free from power dynamics and be able to maintain my independence from power structures controlling me. Question 2 - Future oriented, let's make a better future and place myself in a position where I can do that. (3, 7 and 8) Question 3 - If someone in my life is struggling, I tend to respond in anger to attack what I think is causing that person to be in their current situation. (8, 9 and 1) Yeah, this is a good test, and avoids using stereotypes, "Hey you're introverted and smart so you must be a 5!" I think this clears it up to point to what I am. I'm an Eight. More specifically a self-preservation Type Eight INTJ.
My results First Row: 4, 5, 7, 8, 9 Second Row: First and Second Stance (Second over First) Third Row: Anger 1. 2 2. 1 3. 1 4. 1 5. 1 6. 1 7. 3 8. 3 9. 2 Overall Type: 7w8 or 8w7, But overall 8w7 because I use my Anger response over the Fear response
Row 1: 4,7 Row 2: 4,5,9 Row 3: 5,6,7 I believe I'm a type 5, but according to this test I could very well be a type 4 or a 7. Any clues why this might be?

I’ve always been typed as a 2, which is definitely not surprising. I picked response 1 and 2 for the last one because I do both simultaneously, but I’d say being a 2 wing 3 is very accurate! considering I got 2 and 3 in all of mine, I can agree. I read the book recently and definitely agree
Yeah no.. No consistency on my results whatsoever I was split on the second question and I resonate deeply with five types on the first question. 😔 I've always tested as an INFP or INFJ on MBTI and I've never fell in line with any enneagram type. I've gotten different numbers every time I take the test.
Same, I resonate so much with INFP, but don’t feel like I resonate with Enneagram. Like I have the same goal as type 1 since I want to be a good person and I plan a lot, but I just never get anything done. I also want to do something significant like in type 4. I like being free to options like in type 7. I share the goals and fears with like 5 types too. Hopefully I find my enneagram type because I feel like it’ll help me understand myself better
I really wanted to know which type I was but landed with two 3’s, two 5’s and two 7’s. No matter what with that last row….torn between 2, neither option got me to 3 of the same number. Funny thing is I had thought I was a hard 4 but now wondering.

If you selected one triad and one stance there would be at least one number overlap, but if you are undecided on your triad or stance I would suggest watching again, and pausing after the description of the three different stances and taking some time for self-reflection, I know for myself (and many others) it's a journey that takes time. And then doing the same thing after the description of the stances.
@@TheEnneagramWorkshop I have extensively studied the Enneagram and had a difficult time with the whole past, present, future thing. I'm a four who gets bogged down with the past when I'm in stress, in the present to the exclusion of all else when I'm in creative mode, and extremely visionary (imaginative) about the future. I found when I did this test, my wing or where I go in stress vs. growth were showing up.
@@SelfImageStylist I felt the same way at first. When she read future I was like, "oh that's me. Always envisioning things yet to come..." then she read the 2nd one and I was like, "oh, actually maybe this one is more me..." but then when she read the past one, I knew deep down that was 100% me. It felt like home...and if I had to choose one to live with, I would prefer to sit back and fondly or depressingly reflect on the good and tragic times of the past...lol. I am such a 4! (but I do believe 4's do all 3 at various times, it's just the past is a little more favorable)
For the first question I'd say 4, 7, and 8 (possibly also 9) stance 2 (I do day dream quite a bit, but it's rarely about the past and only sometimes the future. sometimes I feel like, while on a scale of what _time_ I am focused on, it would be the present. but often I feel like I'm not really focused on reality at all, not in the future, past, or present, but a whole other place, if that makes any sense?) 1, 2, 6 huh... that last one almost sounds like none of my reactions- I think I just have more of a... sadness reaction... or, perhaps denial? or more like... "oh, that happened.... I'm just going to go into another world now and forget happened" kind of reaction. like... "well it happened in this reality, but it didn't in another reality, and I don't think this reality is very important anyways" kind of reaction. I'd say maybe the "shameful/heartbroken feelings" one is closest, since it leans the most towards sadness, but I'm not sure this is a very good question because of how many different ways people can react to things like that. also, it's almost never tends to be just sadness or anger, it's very often a mix of both when it comes to things like that. also, someone could feel angry but feel shameful internally. At the moment, I'm quite sure I'm a 4w5, but this test doesn't really seem to align with it much. I've only recently began looking into the enneagram, though, so I could just be wrong.
So, I've taken the MB and HEXACO. And, although I had complex outcomes, they were consistent and, I feel, pretty accurate. But the Enneagram gives me the craziest results. Took it the other day and basically got three strong and two weak types, and the one they settled on (4) didn't seem to fit me very well, Just took this questionnaire and was all over the place, with only one 4. Even when I ruled out the "maybes," I circled a total of eleven numbers and got a 1, a 2, two 3s, a 4, two 5s, one 6, two 7s, and an 8. Does this test perhaps not work well with people who are neurodivergent, or multiple outsiders, or have cross-wired neuroregulatory modes, or people who show a particular level or type of complexity? Can't afford a session, but I was hoping someone in the comments might be able to help.
I used the enneagram tests , I kept getting 5w9 , which is not possible . But through this , I got a consistent 5 yet I am still unsure about my wing . I kept getting 9 on it , which is supposedly not possible .

My personal guess would be 3w2, because I could see 3s leaning into a more present orientation, especially with a 2 wing, but i would recommend doing some reading on 2, 3, and 4 :)

For the last two questions, i picked two answers and got rid of the types i for sure knew that im not. Now i have two types that were consistent throughout the whole thing
omg i got two 4's, two 5's and two 7's, would've not expected that hahah, i'm definitely a 4 though! but i loved this video anyways and it was great for people trying to narrow down to a few numbers/a number! great video☺️

9:58 Third row: centers of intelligence.
So, you’re an 8 then? 😆
First row: Core desire/fear
Thank you
Thank you.
thx thx ☺️
This was good until you got to the last one about reactions. Many 9s are oblivious to anger and would not even recognize that's what they feel. I suggest in that section you modify or add a comment there because anyone who is stuck in being a 9 wouldn't relate to anger at all.
Same goes for 1s. I never recognized the subtle anger/resentment issues I had, until i knew my enneagram type.
9 here. i came to say the same thing.
@@ar5795 I'm just learning about Somatic Work for the body type.
lol im a intp 9w1 and for the last one I related to the 2nd statement the best (567) and kind of the 1st (234) but rarely the last one, so yeah maybe revise this.
It’s funny. As a nine, when bad things happen I usually just go all apathetic and unmoved. But when I think about it, when something really bad happens or if I’m forced to be involved I get very angry. As if I needed more affirmation that I was a nine. XD
Thank you very much for this. It was very helpful.
I love how you broke it down and made it easier to find our main type.
I think it’s difficult for 9s because we can see all sides, that we often identify with every type but our own
I'm also a 9 and I mistyped. What type did you mistype as?
Agreed. I'm a 2. This mistyped me as well.
same im a 9 and i know exactly what you mean
Not sure if you know about Socionics but it sounds like Ne.
Nobody gonna talk about how ADORABLE this gal is?!?! 🤔

Kyley 150 only creepy if you make it creepy :)
She’s very pretty.
How is calling someone adorable creepy though?
Andy Gerdesmeier bc your a creepy creepoooooo
I have been discussing enneagram with some new to this learning. For me, the last of your 3 questions is a helpful place to start, to narrow the focus of category. The specifics of each type can overlap or get confused among others. Words mean differ the things to different people, especially when applying to themselves.
I already knew I was a 5 and this just confirms it even more
1. 1, 2, 5, 6, 8, 9
2. 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 9
3. 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7
In conclusion = I am a mess of a person. But also a 6w5 , so this is accurate :) I did get three 2's but I feel that's a secondary part of myself.
Rosebud, thats hilarious !
I haven't started this yet, but I strongly suspect I'm your sister hehe
Looks almost just like mine lmao and I’m a mess too. I believe I’m 6w7, and bounce back and forth with a lot of 2 as well. Haha.
1: 2, 6, 9
2: 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 9
3: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7
Because the Enneagram has a lot to do with defense mechanisms, I think it'd really be cool if there was a short test based on the "bad habits" of each type. Thoughts? When you're low on energy, what are some unhealthy habits/reflexes you default to?
Thank you for your thoughts! We will definitely look into your suggestion. We have more teachings, resources and content on our website: www.theenneagramworkshop.com and over on Instagram @theenneagramworkshop.
I've been using this method for a while. It is really helpful as weaknesses are the easiest to identify because they arise suddenly and noticeably.
@@natashasmith Absolutely, the same thing happened to me ... and them the penny fell xx

I did this and I found the first two sections to be fantastic. But for the third one I act or react each of the three ways so I just chose them all.
I already knew what I was before this test. And this test still worked quite well.💕
The most repeated numbers were 4, 5 and 9 so I guess I'm a 4w5. It was really nice getting to do a super simple yet well explained test! :)
Row 1: 2, 4, 8
Row 2: 3, 7, 8
Row 3: 8, 9, 1
Looks like I’m a type 8!
Update: After having a quick look around I feel like 4w5 might make sense.
Me being 8 and 5 and 3 🥴
I’ve noticed that enneagram types often correspond to certain Myers-Briggs types, which could possibly also help with finding your type.
@@andreaf8404 exactly, I got enneagram 5 but I think I am an ISFP hah
I'm an ENTP 6w7 and fuck this
It's probably better to think of this as a way to narrow the options (INTP could also be 9 or 6 for example) than a 1:1 correspondence.
A: 4 5 6 7
B: third option - 4/5/9
C: Fear/Mind - 5/6/7
The common answer there was indeed 5, though that first question is tough.
Just now coming to learn this after years of scholarly research in psychology and world religions. Thanks!
Welcome, it's a wonderful journey, I hope you enjoy it!
I’ve taken a few tests and have always gotten an 5 which makes sense because I’m an INTJ but with this I got an 8 which I also resonate a lot with! Thank you!
5s become 8-like while progressing. I'm also a 5, INTP.
omg thank you!!! i’ve taken like 6 different tests and i couldn’t decide whether i was a 4 or a 9. 4 was my consistent number and i still relate very heavily to 9s but i’m almost sure i’m a 4.
I circled two 2s, two 5s, two 4s, and two 9s 😂😭
Yash Dogra me, too
Look where the arrows take you and your next door neighbor. You might be tapping into your wing or where you go for integration/disintegration.
Mine were two 4s, two 5s, and two 9s...
You might be a 9!
I circled two 3s, two 7s and two 4s

This was AMAZING! So much better and instructive than the tests I have taken. Thank you!
This method is useful indeed; simple and smart. I've been figuring myself out between three types at least, and found the consistency with type 4 (with a big 5 wing, have to say). Thanks for sharing, I really appreciate it! 🙏🏻🧠💘
Thank you!! Much better than the online quizzes! I got mistyped as a 7 but figured out I am actually a 3. This confirmed that I am, indeed, a 3.
Thank you.

just want to let you all know that no matter what the number is, you are completely unique and God made your in a very special way! You are loved!
1: 1, 2, 4, 6
2: 4, 5, 9
3: 5, 6, 7
So for me it was a tie between 4, 5 and 6! I do relate to all of those types so much, though... I usually type as a 4w5 so I'll stick to that :))
I love the way you explained this!!!! Why can’t all teachers explain like you lol
This test cause me so much anxiety. I circled every single number on my paper. Not feeling good after this.
awwwww - well, it has revealed one thing... a need for some deeper self-reflection (which we all need from time to time!) Hopefully thinking of the Enneagram through this structure - Triads, Stances, and Basic Fear/Desire can help you organize your self-observation.
9: You're prrrrobably a nineee
If you were thinking "it depends; it depends!" on all of these, it might be a 6. Sixes can get anxious very easily and are very context-specific.
What's more, 6 is the most likely to worry about fitting into the right place of a formalized system.
Hope all is well Cherity :)
@@neiloswald2208 thanks for the insight

What is the so/sx/sp etc?
Row 1: 1 and 5
Row 2: 1, 2, and 6
Row 3: 8, 9, and 1
I guess I'm a 1 that's been mistyped as a 5 for years. What was very revealing for me was the second system about cores. I didn't even realize how dependent I am on feedback from others. I still relate much more to the description of 5 over 1. How do I know which one I am? Every test I take usually has me split pretty evenly between type 1 and type 5.
The best test you make it so simple amd easy to apply yet accurate and precise. True results always
oftentimes it’s easy to mistype yourselves, and with this kind of summary of types it’s easy to get confused and have different understandings. for me, the easiest to learn about the enneagram is going online to Eclectic Energies. they have a great test (two versions - one long, one short) with loads of information on each type and what everything means. a lot of people are getting multiple numbers. basically, everyone is dominant in one type but many people have a wing (the one type that is next to your dominant type. for example, with a type 6, you could only have a wing of 4 or 5). another thing you may take into account if you’re getting multiple types, are the directions of growth and stress. better known as integrations and disintegrations. looking at the enneagram symbol, you can easily find your integration and disintegration. for integration, simply find your type, and move clockwise, following the line that leads to another type. going off the type 6 example, following that line clockwise leads me to type 9. do the opposite for your disintegration. so starting at type six, move counterclockwise, again following that line, to type three. integration is basically your type gaining the positive characteristics of the other type when you’re feeling your happiest or most positive. on the other hand, disintegration is taking on the negative characteristics of the opposite type when you in distress or most negative. it can be very hard to explain and understand but hopefully this helped a bit. if you have questions feel free to reach out to me or even do more research on your own!!
I got:
Row 1 - 4, 9
Row 2 - Stance 3 (4, 5, 9)
Row 3 - Can be response 2 or 3 depending on how significant the thing that went wrong was (so 5, 6, 7, or 1, 8, 9)
So I guess that means I'm a 9?
(Long post incoming)
Here's the dilemma I have:
Type 4 - I really have always felt like a square peg in a round hole for most of my life, and many times when I try to express myself and why I feel the way I do about something, others just look at me like I'm from Saturn & have 15 heads.
@@JFrombaugh "But although I like to project otherwise, I am actually someone who feels very strongly about their beliefs and can have a hard time changing for others if I feel they're trying to push me to be somebody I'm not, and I definitely spend a lot of time introspecting and trying to find my true identity in this world."
Just to shed a little light on this part...this is 100% a type 9 sentiment.

Row 2: stance 2 - 1,2,6

I went on Enneagram Institute, and took the type, and it was accurate. It was only $12 and it was amazing!!! There are so many resources on the site!!!
Each question gave me a different answer.
Unique.

So
First row: 2, 6, 9 (which is what I had guessed I was before taking I took any tests)
Second row: I’m in between stances 2 & 3 so I had 1, 2, 6, 4, 5 ,9 all marked.

Question 2: 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9
Question 3: 5, 6, 7
I really can’t decide between a 7 and 5. I suppose that I’m more likely to be a 5 because then I clearly have a 4 wing, but with seven I don’t really relate that much to 8 or 6.

Weird question: did this give ASMR relaxation and tingles to anyone else?
You have a very calming voice 😊
SolarFan Wings lol
YES
Oh dear! I was relatively certain I am a 7, but in almost *none* of the answers I circled a seven 💀
I might reconsider for a bit! Thank you for the test
I circled 4 types in the first one ?
Also I like to observe and ponder but I'm not about reminiscing
I also circled four on the first row (2,4,7,9) and I like to think about experiences as they happen, since I prefer the present. I do analyze them though. I'm a 9w8 so maybe youre a nine too?
From the depth of my heart I say thank u!!!

I am an Eight, it appears in all three questions.
do you know Bout mbti? if you do, I would like to know your results
I am an intp 9w1. intps and istp can come off as 5, but I and others are 9 (intps are 5, and 9s). the 8 type sounds like entj and estj, yet my dad is entp and type 8. I like learning both because they both explore different parts of our personality and you can learn even more
I'm an INTJ.
I'm definitely a 2, and I got 2!also your voice is so warm and welcoming!
Thanks. This helped a lot to zero down on my type.
Based on this method, I typed as 4 or 2 ~ I've never gotten 2 before through any other method.

hey there, I'm an intj and I got type seven, I'm pretty sure it is my right type and there are several reasons why I think I'm a type seven, but I saw people arguing on the internet that an intj could never be a type seven, what I totally understand because there's nothing much optimistic in me if you compare it to others, in fact, people call me pessimistic on my face and I agree because I'm not as enthusiastic as them.
I just found your channel and I really enjoy it!
Solid type 4 here, tho I definitely wing 3 and 5 a bit.
yet again i'm stuck between 4 and 7, they're completely different so why do i get so confused?? though i'm almost sure that i'm a 4 by now lol
What's your mbti? Enfp? I have an enfp friend who is also confused between 4 and 7 haha
@@mbrunnen04 lol im an enfp 4w3 7w6 9w1

I remember Robert Sheehan did a podcast on enneagram and while reading the types, he wanted to be a 4 - once he completed the test turns out he was a 7 (at least, according to that test). Maybe there's an affinity in certain aspects of both types: not wanting to be tied down, having freedom to be oneself. I think 4s would be more comfortable in melancholy and want to stay in that mood with music/art while a 7 might rather move on from it and not linger... I'm not sure, I'm a 4w5 :)
This is the best test I found
Unrelated but your whole aesthetic is beautiful! You remind me of Tinkerbell with black hair. ✨
Hi! Are you still offering the video consultations you mentioned at the end of your video? I’m newer to your channel (though not to the Enneagram) and have really been enjoying your perspective. Thanks for making these for us!
I got left with 7 and 8 at the end. This is amazing because I’ve actually been typed as an INTJ 8w7 lol
XD!
Thank you I'm kind of had a hard time with this. I'm pretty sure I'm a type 7 thanks for your help. You're very beautiful have a wonderful day!
Before watching: I'll probably get 5, but this is an interesting new way to look at it, I'll give it a shot.
After: wow, I picked 5 for all of them *pretends to be shocked*
That said tho, I usually test as 5w6 and based on this, I'm probably more of a 5w4 which is kinda what I've thought for a while.
I just found out your video now, and i must say this is really helpful. I'm INFP with enneagram 8

oh man I should get the enneagram type book, I'm interested in getting to know more about typology even as a slow learner
Anyways on this video I got between a 4 and a 9. Although I had already known that 9 is my core type but wanted to try this out for fun.

Did it again, just to see if I changed
Question 1 - 4 and 8. I like to have my own identity and unique form of expression, and I like to be free from power dynamics and be able to maintain my independence from power structures controlling me.
Question 2 - Future oriented, let's make a better future and place myself in a position where I can do that. (3, 7 and 8)
Question 3 - If someone in my life is struggling, I tend to respond in anger to attack what I think is causing that person to be in their current situation. (8, 9 and 1)
Yeah, this is a good test, and avoids using stereotypes, "Hey you're introverted and smart so you must be a 5!" I think this clears it up to point to what I am. I'm an Eight. More specifically a self-preservation Type Eight INTJ.
My results
First Row: 4, 5, 7, 8, 9
Second Row: First and Second Stance (Second over First)
Third Row: Anger
1. 2
2. 1
3. 1
4. 1
5. 1
6. 1
7. 3
8. 3
9. 2
Overall Type: 7w8 or 8w7, But overall 8w7 because I use my Anger response over the Fear response
Thank you so much this was very helpful, I’ve been on the fence for a long time but this made me certain that I am a one.
This is great I clicked to see what type I am and still have no idea!
Row 1: 4,7
Row 2: 4,5,9
Row 3: 5,6,7
I believe I'm a type 5, but according to this test I could very well be a type 4 or a 7.

Question 1: 158
Question 2: 126 & 459 couldn’t decide between present & past
Question 3: 234
None had 3 matches. Closest was 2 1s, 2 2s, 2 4s and 2 5s 🤷♀️
This video was very helpful Vanessa!
Yeah no..
No consistency on my results whatsoever
I was split on the second question and I resonate deeply with five types on the first question. 😔
I've always tested as an INFP or INFJ on MBTI and I've never fell in line with any enneagram type.
I'm the same way! I'm INFP but I can't really get on board with the enneagram... It doesn't resonate with me the same way MBTI does.
You might be bipolar. I am.
I really wanted to know which type I was but landed with two 3’s, two 5’s and two 7’s. No matter what with that last row….torn between 2, neither option got me to 3 of the same number. Funny thing is I had thought I was a hard 4 but now wondering.
I'm a 6. Thank you for helping me figure myself out.
I got 5 and 7. But I couldn't decide on the second one and ended up circling everything because I just couldn't decide which one sounded like me.

@@TheEnneagramWorkshop Cool I'll check it out sometime.
I circled two 1s, two 2s, a 4, two 6s, a 7 (i considered myself a 7 lol) , a 8 and a 9

After a lot of reflection I finally identified myself as an 8w9 and came here just for fun. And what now? I ended up never circling neither 8 nor 9

Litterally none of mine repeated more than once
Maybe cuz you are just bad at self-awareness or don't have a mature/full personality yet and you're still developing.
I got Type 9, thank you so much!
For the first question I'd say 4, 7, and 8 (possibly also 9)
stance 2 (I do day dream quite a bit, but it's rarely about the past and only sometimes the future. sometimes I feel like, while on a scale of what _time_ I am focused on, it would be the present. but often I feel like I'm not really focused on reality at all, not in the future, past, or present, but a whole other place, if that makes any sense?) 1, 2, 6
huh... that last one almost sounds like none of my reactions- I think I just have more of a... sadness reaction... or, perhaps denial? or more like...

Row 1: 3|4|6
Row 2: 1|2|6
Row 3: 2|3|4
Not sure what the meaning of that is. Perhaps either 2w3, 3w4, or 4w3?
My personal guess would be 3w2, because I could see 3s leaning into a more present orientation, especially with a 2 wing, but i would recommend doing some reading on 2, 3, and 4 :)
I didn't have any that were all 3 numbers, but I had 2 of type 5, 6, and 7. Sounds like I'm type 6 with balanced wings?
Thanks, didn't know I had so much 4.

For the last two questions, i picked two answers and got rid of the types i for sure knew that im not. Now i have two types that were consistent throughout the whole thing
Guess im a 2w4/4w2 lmao
At first I circled all of them, but in the second one I chose 1, 2 and 6 and in the third one I chose 2, 3 and 4. So it seems like I am a 2.
omg i got two 4's, two 5's and two 7's, would've not expected that hahah, i'm definitely a 4 though! but i loved this video anyways and it was great for people trying to narrow down to a few numbers/a number! great video☺️
