Briggs theres usually a demon in an isekai that says roughly about what being said up too there⬆️. In every manga where it happens, the bad guy accepts and loses to hero who decided not to. WELL IM CALLING BULLSHIT! Prove all those shit authors wrong and take the demon powers.

Why does Cody give off that vibe of the extroverted kid who just adopts introverted people as friends? Like the way he tries to talk to Norman is cool, and how Norman tries to seem cool in-front of him by drinking and putting the bar to sleep. And Old Tony’s and Shark’s interactions are amazing too, both being diametrically oppose on their views on killing but the idea but it’s obvious they have some level of respect for each other and are on equal playing field (judging by how the shark will at least humour some of Old Tony’s ideas and to my memory doesn’t flat out insult him to the same degree he does to Cody (“are you Irish”)). Additionally Tony’s phone is kind of is the great equaliser in their dynamic as sure Shark has a bat and the power to send someone’s legs flying ; but Tony has a phone, this ‘god box’ which can seemingly do anything in the eyes of shark. Great Rp, Great dm, Great viewing experience. Can’t wait to see and more and ramble about this to friends.

I love the fact that Tekking's and Brigg's characters are the total opposites of their One Piece characters in every way.

I feel like Brigs wanted to have no restrictions for big brain plays without being called "meta gaming" and i love that. People gave him flack for somewhat meta gaming in One Piece dnd and now atleast it's somewhat in character

Without any prior knowledge, I would assume that people were recommending the series to him when he was either in the middle of a series or not in the mood to receive recommendations.

Unfortunately, what actually happened is that when he gave his takes and theories while reading the series for the first time, some people responded to anything they perceived as wrong by spoiling things for him to "prove him wrong". It was to the extent that they were messaging him spoilers on platforms like Instagram. Definitely not cool.

I find incredible that something as overdone like isekai is, Rustage managed to make it 100 times more interesting adding the whole aspect that all players are from different time periods.
Incredible episode 1, I am excited to see where Rustage takes this campaign especially how less limited he is with his imagination.
If you like this concept, try out Drifters. It's where legends of different times and ages are summoned to a fantasy world. Technically it's an Isekai but legitimately nothing like one lol. Here's the intro if you'd like a lil exposure.

As the other comments pointed out already this concept isn'nt anything new and let's be honest if new concepts is what it took to make good isekai every new isekai is good becuase all of have some new hook like oh look at this, the mc this time is a slime or the mc this time is a sword or something else. Isekai aren't good because of thier bad writing. Something that isn't here.

@@merlinsbeard778 I guess my point was that having them being from different time periods spice it up a bit more but also the massive gap with their ages and what they do than all 4 being nerdy teenagers. Even Norman that kinda falls into that, he is actually an adult.
The thing I am looking for the most in this campaign is how they interact and grow together since the characters are so different from eachother. This is way more interesting to me than a normal isekai or "isekai but is slightly different because X" since like you said, even with the added "twist" the story still falls flat.

My takeaway from the pcs:
Tony: I'm not used Tekking being the moral compass, but I'm about it.
Norman: ngl Ragnar is my least favorite pc. (he's good, but like the least good) So I was excited to see what briggs would do. And I wasn't disappointed
Cody: His design and personality are great and I want to see more.
Shark: He's the best by far. What do I say that everyone else hasn't.
Specially true for tekking cuz his alternate persona william has a pretty good record of killing elderly people and he even made it cannon 😂
But Ragnar is a bear :(
It's interesting to see how chaotic group dynamics can be by comparing one piece dnd to this. I feel like with tekking as the established leader, the flow of the initial episode was smoother. But shark going on a rampage and fighting racism was cool lol

An Isekai where the MC is from medieval Europe and he's like a serf or something and he gets put in a normal fantasy world would be really cool since they don't have any concepts of fantasy worlds like we do.
They believed in magic and monsters, though, unless they were Enlightenment elites.
Slightly sad that no one got the beautiful embrace of truck kun but otherwise, this is the start of another beautiful adventure!

I can really see Cody and Old Tony being a funny duo. though Cody is younger , Tony lived through the 80s , so I can see them relating to each other in a few ways.
A refreshing concept especially considering how straightforward and similair all Isekai shows are by now.
My opinion on the players and there characters.
Briggs and Norman- he was kinda overspoken by others I'm looking to see more.
Tekking and old Tony- so wholesome the party has nice dad.
Green and Shark- deliciously dark I love it favorite character.
Shwabidi and cody- Broooooooooo

I will say rustage, norman can't use magic missile and hide in the same turn. Because hide is an action unless you are a rogue. There might be a feat for it though.
I know don't worry!! I was gonna explain in the episode i didn't realise he was ALSO gonna make an attack and shouldn't have asked him to do the stealth check - but it's a minor thing so i let it slide

I did not know what to expect. But this is such a banger. Love the energy of this group.
I love how so much more diverse the characters' temperments here are compared with the 'One Piece' game being played; not saying either game is better than the other, however. What I enjoy is how for one guy this situation is the perfect answer to his otherwise absolutely crappy life (I feel for him, and mentality-wise would be in the same mindset as Norman). Then there's Tony who is enjoyably down-to-earth and so he just wants to find a way back home, but is willing to accept that this bizarre situation is now his reality. Cody comes across to me as the chilled and calm individual who can often be the badly needed voice of reason when Tony's age induced potential leadership role fails him, albeit to me his hyper 'gym-bro' attitude would be a little disturbing. Finally, the Shark's insane level of pure brutality sitting beside his solid refusal that this situation can possibly actually be reality is the perfect fourth cornerstone in this evenly matched and equally strange group; his near villain attitude I can see causing everyone potentially A LOT of problems later on when things don't revolve around combat. Watching this first episode has got me to thinking of my own character in this particular set of circumstances, so I can't wait to see where things go from here.
