How very fitting Elliot's Horror Journey began with Slenderman and it CONTINUES with Slenderman!
It began with Slender and it makes a comeback with Slender.
Whenever I hear SGB and Slenderman, I immediately think of the one part of the let’s play (SGB returns to Slender: the arrival I believe it was called), where Elliot had one or two pages left, decided to restart the level, WALKED UP to Slenderman so that he can, only for the game to treat it as if he got all 8 pages and have him proceed to the next level.
Even though he might be old fashion at this point, I’m still a big Slenderman fan. He basically paved the way for Marble Hornets, which sort of kickstarted the modern horror ARG.
There's a comment that just sticks with me;
_The scariest part about those pictures was it was in broad daylight._
And most of these games take place at night, but to see this...THING in the morning must be horrifying.

Well, then, I guess I'm a veteran now!
This is a real blast from the past. If I'm being honest with myself, I almost completely forgot that Slenderman was a thing, because it feels like he's just faded into complete obscurity in recent years. But, I was around in the early 2010s when Slender: The Eight Pages came out, and I remember how ubiquitous the character used to be on the internet back then. I also remember watching you guys play that game on the channel for Elliot's birthday (I think, I might be misremembering), and, well, there's really no better way to cap off Halloweenfest than with a game like this! It really does bring me back to 2010-2014.
That's actually a pretty good idea. The whole restaurant being themed around gaming with the food items being the main menu. I like that idea. Desserts cost as much as DLC items. Oh boy.

I remember watching the original playthrough while I was in middle school. And I've earned the veteran's discount, it seems. I had a great laugh at the original Slender playthrough, back... 11 years ago...

I remember watching the original Slender video on this channel way back when and getting properly scared by it because I’d not watched games like this before. Time flies. So glad that you’re all still around making videos

Wow... I was kind of expecting this honestly! The remaster of the game I speedrun. I go back to watch the old StA videos from time to time. They're always a fun time. :)
I’ve preferred this playing a little of a lot of games to the way it used to be of doing full playthroughs of horror games that might not always stay exciting on a full playthrough.
That being said I hope you haven’t pushed too hard getting all this extra content out, it’s been so good having SGB back and I didn’t realise how much I missed it and would be a shame for any burn out to set in from feeling obligated to commitments of all these extra videos.
If next year you only alternated with the main let’s play or just stopped those entirely until Halloween was over, I’d be just as happy

When it comes to the Slender games, (the few decent and good ones), with the premise of "dont look at him to close" and for years and I mean years people would say "hey I think I saw slenderman to the left" and of course they look to the left. It always makes me laugh like how did that even happen? If your goal to survive is to not look at hte monster, people do hte opposite.

The 2nd final boss in Sonic Superstars is a horrific experience to be sure

Contrary to popular belief- halloween is not the scariest holiday. Thinking of new years traffic and christmas in retail I shudder to think that maybe we should keep going with Halloweenfest

seems like this overhaul kinda ruined the feel of the game imo, it’s way too bright. like that part with the little burnt dude running around in the corn field, (around 50:30) you could barely see him in the original. but here, there he is just cruising around
and the first level with the 8 pages, you can see like, *perfectly,* aside from when elliot went inside the building

Ugh, speakin of someone not understanding how a game works, almost 10 years ago, I was on a skype call with a couple I was friends with, and the girlfriend was playing a game, I forgot which one, but I had played it before, and she was somewhere right after the end of the tutorial stuff, and in the area she was in, she kept trying to get to a ledge that you cant actually access until later in the game when ya get a certain upgrade to move an object to act as the platform needed to get on the ledge, and after like, 30 minutes of me telling her that she cant get to it until later, she got all mad saying the game was shit because "if she's able to access the area with the ledge NOW, then she should be able to get to the ledge NOW" and she rage quit the game and never played it since. Ugh, I'd hate to see her play a Metroidvania
So the reason Slender sends you to the next chapter without all 8 pages is because Elliot is playing on easy mode.
Man this is quite the call back, what's next Super Mario Blue twilight?

Great Halloweenfest guys! Likely the best one yet. A ton of choices for games to continue, probably not seen until next October rolls around but no biggie. Also can't wait for the old LPs to return, with Greg added on for extra hilarity~

Applying for SGB Veteran's Discount
Called it in the previous video, I said Slender would be the final game.
Tears of the Kingdom would not be 50-60 hours without side content, lol. If you literally just do the main story and dungeons it's probably like a 15 hour game or less.
I'd like to apply for my Senior Club Card.
I'm totally cool with it doing nothing, I'd just like to have it.
Maybe then my mom would be proud of me.

I remember dropping into a certain area in Tears of the Kingdom and then realising I was locked in with Gloom Hands, felt so much relief when I killed them… briefly….
My first exposure to HIM was a cave that had a Shrine on a higher cliff and no enemies around except for those Hands. Thinking it was some sort of puzzle, I fought them and eventually won, only for the true horror to arise

ngl, the sound design in the factory and hearing footsteps back and forth between the left and right channels REALLY fucked with me lol. I couldn't imagine what it would sound like playing it knowing something is following. Especially on the first playthrough when you don't know that there is only one girl stalking you.
Did my dude really try to say Silent Hill's graphics weren't fantastic for the time? SH2 and 3 hold up better than probably 99.99% of the PS2 catalog, graphically.
But real talk, next year..... can you guys do sonic superstars?
