I LOVE Yanni!. I remember watching this Live At The Acropolis performance on PBS. You are the first reactor that I know of who has reacted to anything from Yanni. Please do more reactions from this wonderful composer.
Don't you think it is quite "odd" that so many reactors won't even come close to Yanni's music? Every single piece is stellar. Maybe they're "skeert" to get lost in the massive cave that Yanni has built. You can go a long time on his joy and also his tenderness.
Thank you Shawn, awesome reaction! I'm so glad you liked it. I meant to say "violin dual" instead of "violin duet" between the two of them because it is like a friendly dual😊. He did tour the United States in 2021 I believe on a "Live at the Acropolis" anniversary tour. I'm not happy that I missed it! But I believe he'll be back around again...
Bravo, hey I’m Greek so I’m always ready for any Yanni ( means John in Greek music) and the violins were stellar and to see a concert at the Acropolis, which I’ve been to at 3 times
You have fallen into the great, bright, shimmering light of Yanni. Do not stop climbing. You'll get lost, but you're going to be FILLED with joy. Yanni does not read music. He has interpreters write what he has written for his educated musicians. There is SO MUCH.
Man, Yanni was my thing back in the day. Could not play this album enough. What a freaking talent, and the band he played with were absolutely the top notch musicians in the world.
Thank you so much for playing Yanni. Your reaction was great. His music is incredible and puts you in a positive mood always. I hope you could possibly play “Standing in Motion” live at the Acropolis. He writes his own music which is so uplifting.
He took the world by storm … people just cud not watch enuf of him … truly amazing … U shud take the time to listen to all of his work … put ur feet up, sit back, relax and let ur mind roam … u will NOT B DISAPPOUNTED Take the Yanni dive Be well 🐥🇨🇦🐥 Hugs to all❤❤
Shred ! Sometimes it truly feels that pop/rock world fails to realise, except when calling them nerdy and geek with weird reserved to metal, that there are other genres with superb musicianship that fill the arenas and sell millions worth of music.
This entire concert is INCREDIBLE. Part of the reason I love it so much is that everyone involved is having the best time of their lives and their joy is so infectious it just fills you with this beautiful energy every time you hear and see it. We had the whole thing on VHS and I grew up watching it on repeat. Thank you for the wonderful reaction!
See Marching Season at: ruclips.net/video/UKdVu5ViGpU/видео.html Specifically, drums with his buddy Charlie Adams (they were in Chameleon together). So many, SOOOOOOO MANY. His newer violinist, Samvel Yervinyan: ruclips.net/video/aZhSJE8M1u0/видео.html Until the last moment (written in memory of his parents) He doesn't appreciate being lumped with "new age", but deals with it. This man has so, so much out there to enjoy.
Charlie Adams (Drummer) & Yanni were in a band called Chameleon in Minnesota... They were regional heros (Upper Midwest) & I got to see them in my late Teens. Charlie would play Drums in a wheel that went upside down & sideways & he never missed a beat! Yanni was Keys of course & have stayed close friends since. It was Awesome!! Glad they stayed friends!
My favorite (and most familiar Yanni compositions) include the following: "To the One Who Knows" (Dare To Dream) "After the Sunrise" (Reflections of Passion) "Quiet Man" (Reflections of Passion) "Swept Away" (Reflections of Passion) "Reflections of Passion" (Reflections of Passion) "One Man's Dream" (In My Time)
You have now been handed the key to Yanni's universe. Don't miss any of it!!!!! I've been watching him and have been to many concerts since 1989. The man doesn't read music but writes all of it. He has interpreters to convert his shorthand to music that can be read by the professional musicians from around the world. Don't miss any of it. Don't miss ANY OF IT. By the way ... he lives in S. Florida and has a studio on his property. My suggestion for now is Niki Nana (he wrote that as a child, in Greece). This is a great link for that performance: ruclips.net/video/mA9Y4wC7t8M/видео.html

Wow! Excellent performance! Talent!!! Thank you Shawn and whoever gave the donation request! 😀
I've heard of Yanni before but never listened to him, but really enjoyed this clip! Thanks for introducing me to his music.
A bit of trivia...Yanni played in a local band in Mpls called Chameleon back in 1984.

Always has been a FAVORITE over the years! YANNI is the guy in white. A new age artist that had a huge following! ❤
That's the conductor she's dueling with. I love the look on his face! He's having so much fun...😊

Wow, totally forgot about Yanni. I want to say, Yanni was involved with Linda Evans an actress. She was on TV show Dynasty.
When they separated, he went through a long period of soul searching and I'm guessing, depression. He didn't write or tour for more than five years.

those people witnessed ART in the making, best of their craft!
My favorite from this concert is “Standing In Motion.” You get props for being one of only a few to react to Yanni. More!

Yanni ... converts to "Johnny" in the U.S.
It sounds like most of the song is in 7/4 time.
Yanni was nice, and nothing more. I mean, we are not talking about Vangelis, right? Cheers.
