I first heard this played by someone else in a different arrangement, and it felt like a Chopin song to me. This threw me off because I thought it was some lost piece of his that I hadn't heard before... The way it's played in this video makes it more obvious, but would I be incorrect to assume that you're a fan of F.C.?
It's fair to have an opinion that differs from the composers own realization... this is what makes Classical music a great tradition -- multiple versions are allowed, there is no standard!
