Feeling utterly overwhelmed after exploring the Abeka website, I stumbled upon your video and it was a total game-changer! Everything finally clicked into place. As we've journeyed through gentle Sonlight preschool, I've noticed similar phonics challenges with my little ones. Your video was the missing piece I needed to understand how to support my child - thank you for sharing your invaluable insights and expertise! You've made a profound impact on our homeschooling adventure.
This was extremely helpful. I am starting K4 with my daughter next year and I’ve been digging through RUclips videos for a thorough flip through and organizing video. So thank you thank you thank you!!
I hold pre school loosely as well!!! I don’t use teacher manuals for that age but I was a pre school teacher!!! We just let my 4 year old copy letters when she wants to on a whiteboard!!! This looks awesome!!!
Before I stayed home and homeschooled, my daughter went to a Christian Day School. They used ABeka K4 and she LOVED it! She was very prepared for Kindergarten which Is when I started homeschooling. I am really thinking of using it with my little guy, but that’ll be a few years. Can’t wait to hear how the twins like their “school!”
So excited. We bought the K4 Abeka curriculum. Then I saw the logic of English so I was torn. We ended up with Abeka. I love your videos. Your channel is one of my go to channels for curriculum. So thank you so much.😊😊
Thank you. I am considering homeschooling my now four-year-old daughter who is on the autism spectrum as I’m not certain she will be able to go to our Christian school in the fall and I’m not willing to send her to our public school. We have a few more months to decide, but I’m trying to get ready. Thank you for this.
Love this - I’m hoping to send my twins to preschool this September but we are having potty training issues so K4 is my backup plan! I’m doing K5 with my daughter this fall as well so hoping it can all flow together if it comes to that!
We skipped k4. My kinder is 4.5 and we had done the Abeka preschool for 2s and the 3s so she was definitely ready to move straight into k5. However, I would have rather done Abeka k4 last year instead of the curriculum that I went with where I had to find/put a lot of additional resources together to make it a full program. If there had been a video like yours covering what was in k4, I absolutely would have gone with it. This was great
Thank you so much for this video! It was super helpful. I am currently doing the Abeka 3-year-old preschool program with my twins who are 3 and also my next child who is 2 (She's 13 months younger than the twins, but super bright and wants to do everything like her big sister and brother.) I am looking to move to Abeka K4 with all three children when we finish 3yo preschool. As long as they are able, I will keep all 3 working on the same level as it makes it so much easier for me timewise. I had been searching for videos but most of the Abeka reviews, etc. are all the about using Abeka academy rather than parent led. Your video had the info I was looking for. Thank you for showing how the teacher's manual works. Since I'm in Australia I can't go amywhere to look at any of the Abeka curriculum and materials unless I buy it and then that's expensive if I end up not liking it. Also great to see another mum of twins using the Abeka parent led program😁. Did you just get one set of readers to use between both or one set each?
I’m torn between k4 and k5. My son is currently in preschool, will be 5 in December. Can’t decide if I should skip straight to k5 or do k4? He seems to struggle a bit more with letter and number recognition. I feel he may benefit from staring at k4?
I would probably say K4 would be a perfect fit. Personally, I think Abeka is about a grade year ahead ... all of my kids are on the level below their grade and doing amazing!
Yes, we are just taking it slow and not worrying too much about it ... it does help that I have done K5, so I know how much review there is at the beginning. My plan is to just do as much as we can of K4, but if they stop progressing, I won't push them! Love Abeka + Sonlight!
Are the phonics charts and games instructions in the actual package of games, or are they in the teacher’s book? I was just thinking of buying just the games (and some of the flashcards) because I’m not doing the full program (I just wanted them more for supplementary games).
Hi! I am really happy with the program! Although, I don't hold to it too tightly, because I know that a lot of it will be covered again in K5 ... so that helps me really follow my kids lead :)

@@sciencemama you're doing amazing! 👏 👏
I still have Abeka items from 1st grade and my kids are now middle schoolers and one uprising 9th grader! I love ABeka.

I have twin girls and I am trying to decide between Abeka and Good and the Beautiful. Thank you this is helpful
So glad it was helpful ... homeschooling twins definitely has its advantages and challenges :)
This was SUPER helpful! Thanks so much!

Thank you for this! My second child is the same age as your twins. Do you have a comparison video of Abeka vs All About Reading?
Yes! ruclips.net/video/xw8r7zmUAlc/видео.html
@@sciencemama thank you!!

Love the idea of keeping them all together - one set of reader would be plenty!

Thank you for this video! How are you liking Abeka k4? We are planning on combining Abeka k4 and Sonlight pre-k next year as well!

Can the Abeka ABC 123 workbook be used on its own with out teachers guide nor the full curriculum? I would like to use it with other supplements…
If you have another program then you definitely don't need the teachers guide - the workbooks would be a great supplement!
Are the phonics charts and games instructions in the actual package of games, or are they in the teacher’s book? I was just thinking of buying just the games (and some of the flashcards) because I’m not doing the full program (I just wanted them more for supplementary games).
When finished with the curriculum are you going to sell it.
Hi. Thank you so much for this review. For the little readers, did you find that you needed 2 sets for the twins or were they able to share them.
They are definitely able to share :)
hi do you use the abeka videos for the lessons?thanks
No, we haven't ever used the videos, I've always done the teacher lead!
About to purchase some of K4 for my daughter, wondering if anyone had used the Art and Craft, if it's worth it?
We never did try the Art and Crafts from Abeka!
@@sciencemama I ended up ordering them, and they look fun! Hopefully the kids enjoy it 🙂
How long does it take to complete this curriculum?
We never completed it before just moving onto K5 ... my kids are more ready to learn this year :)
Can you give us an update?
Hi! I am really happy with the program! Although, I don't hold to it too tightly, because I know that a lot of it will be covered again in K5 ... so that helps me really follow my kids lead :)
This must be parent led?
Yes, definitely. I’m pretty sure if you were video led you wouldn’t have all the manipulative etc 🤷🏼♀️
