My husband and I both have it.. I have been medicated before, but came off the meds because the symptoms werent being helped much and I was used to having the symptoms all my life, I am 32 and was diagnosed at 30. My husband was diagnosed at 17 and went through just about every single medication until they had him on 15 different medications including 900 mg of clozaril twice a day.. He detoxed off his medications and is only on wellbutrin and an anti-depressant now. His symptoms are worse than mine and come more often, but he learned how to manage too and is doing so well. He said his symptoms never disappeared on medication and he learned to deal with them anyways.. My heart breaks for anyone put through the gambit with these doctors because it is still such a misunderstood diagnoses and has changed vastly over the past several decades. I've been watching you channel for a while and I'm glad to see youre doing so well and I really appreciate you sharing the medicine you're on.

Just went down a rabbit hole watching your videos. I just turned 30 and have always had some minor anxiety issues, but last September experienced psychosis and was not myself for days. It’s hard to explain but I felt like I was put under a spell. Was prescribed hydroxazine & fluoxetine. I also don’t take my hydroxazine mainly because it doesn’t do much for me. My fluoxetine, however, has saved my LIFE.
Started seeing a therapist & was diagnosed with OCD. Extreme obsessive thoughts on repeat and it is debilitating. Thank you for sharing your experiences, it’s helpful to know we’re not alone ❣️

Fluvoxamine is a different one with a similar name that also helped me with repetitive thoughts I couldn’t get away from. Glad something is working for you!

Thank you so much for sharing your list of medications it is very helpful! My 23 year son has been diagnosed with bipolar and we are having a really difficult time finding the correct meds. He has about 4 manic episodes per year and if we don’t catch it soon enough it goes into a full psychotic episode. They gave him Abilify in the hospital and it was like magic. It pulled him out of psychosis and he was great for 7 days but he started having feelings of internal shakes and he had to stop taking it. He is now taking Zyprexa but has gain about 35 pounds in a couple of weeks.

I suffer from depression and my doctor did a genetic test to see which medications work best with my DNA compass. If anyone is interested please reseach it or ask your doctor. We kept trying different meds that didn't work or would work for a while with awful side effects. Come to find out none of those meds were any good when it came to my body metabolizing it. This test truly helped me, tremendously. I Hope this info helps someone out there. We got the results and it has saved us time and many years of trial and error. This genetic test has heen used by psychiatrists for the past 10 years and I am 100% thankful my doctor suggested it.

A tip for everyone with schizophrenia or bipolar disorder - you can take a low dose of Olanzapine as a mouth-melting pill and it works in 15 minutes. It takes away my anxiety, calms me down, make me less irritated etc.
It's an antipsychotic/antimanic medication, but in low doses it's used against anxiety sometimes. I am on a stable dose every night for my bipolar disorder, but when needed I take this freeze-dried version that melts on your tongue - and it works so quickly! To me it's been a lifesaver, I take that instead of self-harming or going into big arguments with people online/offline (when I'm in mixed episodes).
I believe it works very well too if you have an episode of more delusions or hallucinations, since that's what it's designed to work against. For me it's mainly the calming anti-anxiety effect I strive for. Also it's not giving bad side-effects if it's only taken when needed!! 5 mg is the lowest dose in my country, and that's what I use when needed.
Talk to your doctor if you're curious! It's not addictive like benzodiazepines, and in my opinion it works WAY better.

Hydroxyzine is actually an antihistamine (they are used for allergic situations) but as you said it can be used for anxiety also it helps for sleeping. I used it without a doctor’s suggestion and I think it’s only effect was making me sleepy. It helped my anxiety but only a little. Xanax or ativan is much better but they are risky because of risk of addiction. I thought you are gonna say xanax instead of hydroxyzine when you started to talk about hydroxyzine.

My son also has jumpy legs. He always fidgets. It's just normal now. It's the new normal.
I heard vitamin B complex is good to take for anxiety? I wonder if hydroxyzene might be good for sleeping. I actually read that you can lose the effectiveness of the antipsychotics if you go off and on them.

Yeah yeah this shit with weight gaining is normal on this medication. I gained 40-50kg during 2020-2023. I stopped the medication completele about 2022 because it doesnt helped. So I started my own research and tried at least Benzodiapine. What should I say it finally helped because it helps against panics, fears and other things. The voices asked me even in my dreams if the medication helps you and I said yes it helps me to forget a lot of negative things that happened, it stops negative thinking, it pushes you forward to do something. I loosed on myself 20kg in a half year. As next I will go again on therapy and it will be I hope the last time. 😉

it’s very interesting hearing different people’s experiences with different medications. like i take risperidone (for bipolar, i’m not schizophrenic) and it’s been a life saver, in conjunction with lamotrigine and a few other meds. i don’t have any side effects, i don’t feel like a zombie, i haven’t gained weight, in fact my mental health is so much better that i’ve managed to lose 100 pounds. i feel great. i guess i’m lucky, though, lol
