This video clearly shows a 42-44 jump... Not even calculating the distance between Jordan's starting point to the highest point.
The rim height is 10 feet or 120 inches, Jordan's height is 6'6 or 78 inches... if you take 78 to 120, you have 42... so according to Math, Jordan was above 42 inches in that jump, he's holding the ball the whole movement and listen when u're not holding a ball, u have the freedom to move ur arms n legs w/o any extra weight or balance issues. That's why u can jump higher. But once u got that ball in your hands, it changes ur center of gravity, making it a bit trickier and palming the ball might not be enough. When u're going for a dunk, having a solid grip on the ball can make a big difference. Work on ur grip strength, and practice dribbling & handling the ball while jump-g. It'll help u feel more in control.
Let's say he lose 3 inches... he's at least 46 inches... not sure, he has ever jumped higher than 44-46, or at least, they haven't record it.
