    I was going to get this around Black Friday but wasn't sure cuz of the price. You just sold me on it. The difference in temps will be amazing for my laptop during the summer here in San Diego SoCal.

    Medium fan results are INSANE. I'm picking up the 2024 model of the ROG STRIX G16 and while it has really great temps, it gets pretty hot here in Jamaica, so this will be a HUGE help. Thanks for making this video my friend.

    I bought one of these and it arrived yesterday. Beau avoids testing at louder fan noises because of the excessive noise, but I was a brave boy and gave it a try at max speed. 😂 In BG3 at the later more graphically demanding levels, with my Slim7 set to Performance & graphics cranked up to Ultra, it was able to keep the GPU

    Great review. I recently bought the IETS version, the GT600. I like the hold down clips better, less intrusive, and the foam has embedded magnets to help hold it in place. The cooling is impressive. I seldom need to go above 1000 - 1200 on fan speed to keep temps in the 60 - 75 range.

    Great info! I watched another vid where the reviewer "had some serious concerns" about recommending this one based on the noise, and the hapless comments section seemed to be warded off by it. That reviewer failed to mention what this one highlighted, that you don't need to run it full blast to see benefits, and that the quietest setting cools better than any of the cheap alternatives. As for the loudest setting, it's not the unit's fault -- moving lots of air just makes noise. I probably wouldn't set it to max, but it's nice just knowing it's there.

    • @TechGuyBeau
      @TechGuyBeau  8 месяцев назад

      Makes sense; I definitely wouldn’t be running it full speed. It was scarily loud. But even low made a big difference. Half I guess is good if you have a beefy boy laptop

      @@TechGuyBeau I just got mine today, and at max levels it reminds me of my dad’s 1970’s Super-8 projector, which had a massive fan for cooling the extremely hot bulb. But it’s a consistent sound, so active noise cancelling headphones should help. Just for fun, I wonder how much I can overclock my slim 7 with this at max.

      It’s not too bad if you take your time. Be sure to disconnect the battery immediately, you may want to ensure you were not all static electrically charged. And then when you disconnect the heat sink take your time and be gentle. Make sure you disconnect any of the fans That are connected to the motherboard

    Also, I noticed when upscaling video if you just minimize the screen to your taskbar so that only the desktop is showing, you can get a few degrees lower temps on the cpu.
    But yes I have one of these and @ only 600rpm's my cpu stays in the high 70's low 80's while upscaling vs 90+ degrees without. And the gpu stays in the 60's at 600rpm while upscaling.

  • @andyakarudolfhessiansack7936

    I have concerns.
    What ive deduced is that although lowered temp benefits in relation to the GPU and CPU, there are possible unforeseen dangers to laptop longevity.
    The heat being dissipated has to go somewhere. And just because the heat to the GPU and CPU is reduced, where is that dissipated heat going? Inadvertantly it is possibly being shifted to other components which are not designed to get excess heat. These fans "could" push air out of the laptops designed air flow routes and spill over to other "heat sensitive" components.
    Im hesitient to use such a generic product on a 2k + device.

    • @TechGuyBeau
      @TechGuyBeau  8 месяцев назад +5

      The heat comes out the vents. Basically what this is doing is helping the laptop intake air. If you watch HWINFO you can see that really all the components run cooler

      They are basically the exact same. The gt600 is not a lot better. The only thing I'll give the gt600 is that it's nice having the magnets hold the foam in place, and it can elevate a little more. Personally, I'd rather have the scroll wheel of the llano than the push button of the gt600.

Does this llano tech cooler does get your keyboard hot on gaming? • @TechGuyBeau
      @TechGuyBeau  8 месяцев назад
