I have the “regular” Tiguan R, and boy do I love it! I have to kids, so rear seats and boot space were critical. I love the Dr Jeckyll and Mr Hyde personality; by a simple press of a button, I can safely and quietly drive the kids to school, and then boom; I can enjoy a sportier, dare I say meaner, drive on my way to work. What a car!
Just picked up my T-roc R 468km’s old and I’m in heaven ❤❤❤❤❤❤ditched my SQ2 order for the T-rocR 3x the equipment and $23,000.00 less……3stage heating on the steering wheel wow.
Amazing car. Was shopping for the new Nissan Z and ended up swinging to the TROC R. Performance is top notch and no compromise in practicality. Good ground clearance too which is great for Australian roads. After test driving the Nissan it wasn’t pleasant with all the potholes/ steep driveways. Also the acceleration is understated by VW. Expect about a 4.6 to 100 👍
All very well, nice cars but whoever designed the entertainment system, especially the haptic and slide buttons should be fired! I went Skoda and very happy! Sort your cars out VW and go back to the old dials to adjust things!
@@carsales 2016 Polo GTI . Tuned around 160kw and definitely felt quicker off the line. That could be the fwd or the tuned dsg I don’t know but I was not impressed at all with Troc.
@@colonelangus2580mate if you were not impressed with the t roc r, compared to your polo, then you definitely must not be impressed with your polo, because it is slower!

Traded my 4 year old Golf for a T Roc. Absolutely love it.
In four weeks driving the Tiguan R I'm yet to accidentally hit a button on the steering wheel. With familiarity they're quite easy to use. Great cars!
I’ve been driving mine for 8 months now, I can’t say that I like these touch capacitive knobs and buttons, but it’s fair to say that I’m used to them.
T-Roc R looks like a great value. SUV practicality and near Golf R performance for significantly less money.
Still rather have a Golf R

Great review. Put a volume control knob on the T-Roc and I’d buy one tomorrow. Haptic touch volume controls are infuriating
Thanks for the positive feedback!
Great review but I also wanted a drag race at the end!
Great review, quite helpful!
I haven't had any issues with the steering wheel. Not sure what people are complaining about all the time. Hold the rim not the center arch.
1:59 how did they get the paint to look so orange-peely?
I want to upgrade but My 2018 Tiguan high line seems to have more features than the new ones 😮
Great video! Are both these models manufactured in Germany?
Thanks for the feedback, glad you liked it. Was a fun comparison, I won't lie. Okay, the Tiguan R is built in Germany, the T-Roc is built in Portugal.
At Autoeuropa VW’s Factory in Portugal (Palmela). All T-ROC’s come from this VW’s factory. same quality as German factories
Good cars but my preference would be a JCW Mini Countryman
Anyone know if golf clubs will fit into the t-roc R? 😅
Yes golf clubs fit comfortably in the back
21” wheels and lowered sport suspension, very SUV
Can get my head around a SUV that has been lowered, find it strange😅.
Stupid touch buttons and ugly seat textile not worth for the R Version and its price. Still cool cars
No spare wheel in the Tiguan? Wtf?
VW needs to chill on cost cutting
Get a golf r wagon if you can find one
discombobulating @4:58. dude, you must have been born in 1800s😂

He was fired!!!
You can get these in the uk 🤣🤣🤣
I must have test driven a dud T-Roc R because I thought it was garbage, my tuned Polo gti is quicker.
Which model Polo GTI? And is it quicker, or does it quicker? Polo is lower to the ground so probably feels quicker. Who knows?

@colonelangus2580 much lighter car, smaller turbo, the polo would feel zippier off the line .
Did you seriously compare a polo with an SUV. Your better off comparing with the Golf R

paying that much for a 4cyl haha yeah rather have an electric car
