I literally put my hands on my head when he inserted the bibliography. Obviously, I've been doing it manually making things difficult for myself. Thanks for the video
my mouth dropped damn
yes!!!! that was my reaction as well.
SAME!!! This will be so helpful. Now I have to find how to tell Mendeley to update my references if I remove a citation. Anyone know?
😂
Did your universities show you these programs? Mine didn't, and it's such a shame, lot of tedious work and time that could have been saved so easily. The ability to use this software really should become a part of the curriculum.
I've had Mendeley installed for two years now. Been using Word like the last person who commented...and now it's time to innovate my referencing methods. :D
This is the best introduction to Mendeley I ever had. Thanks, Derek
Great to hear that :)
Good luck with your research
Thanks Derek. Your tutorial just made referencing so easy. This is time saving. No more manual/analogue method of referencing
Thank you, Grad Coach for this brilliant introductory to Mendeley. I were unable to open in my laptop but with the help of your guidance I am able to work on Mendeley software now. Thank you so much for this informative video. Keep creating more videos like this.

Feel your pain... me too! Cannot do that for my Doctorate... I could never get the other ref managers to work properly. Fingers crossed that all goes well with this. Good luck your side.
Here's one more idiot, Me Me Me!! lol
hey bro ! We are in the same category.
And me. Lol
same here!
Thank goodness for Derek! Total newbie starting out on an MSc - this will save me soooo much time and energy - thank you!
Great tutorial Derek! just a note that the "Literature Search" feature in Mendeley is based on a community crowd-sourced research database, and not the original publisher databases. The implication here is that we shouldn't depend on the source entries to be accurate or complete. Just thought I'd add this here for the benefit of your viewers.
Great comment, Umar. Yes, one should always double check all info in each entry to make sure its 100%.
Then which other source we use for this purpose?
Before I watched your video, I don't have a skill of using software for citation. Know, I am benefited from your tutorial! Thank you very much!
Saved my life! Now I can finally write my thesis in a more optimal way. Thank you so much :DDD

Hi Derek, great Teacher, Keep it up.
Got two questions for you. 1. How do I remove "et al" from the reference list? Journals require all the authors to be listed, but Mendeley can only accommodate a maximum of three or four in some cases. 2. I have just formatted my thesis and I cannot add any more citations. Instead, am getting a message that " Citation/ Bibliography is wrongly placed in index area, please delete the placed citation/bibliography in index area"
great tutorial and very helpful. Thank you
valuable video, help me a lot thank you.
It has been a wonderful experience of learning how to use mendeley.

Awesome tutorial. Thank you so much. Just wondering two things: 1) I am completing a Doctoral thesis. I would like to use Vancouver (i.e. numbering citations in-text) with Harvard style reference list. How do I achieve this? I have 2 reference lists from merged documents (done manually) h ow can I merge these into the thesis reference list - with the Vancouver style. Hope that makes sense... Thoughts welcome.
Great video. It helps me a lot.Thank you very much!
