Seeing the various habs and other residential areas makes me think that Tertium might've been a somewhat nice place before all this. A bit crowded, but what big cities aren't? Certainly would love to see a non-desecrated cathedral, sounds like a good place for photos.
@@danivalvalsson8174 Technically we get to see the "middle class" area when we go closer to the atmospheric shield and beyond. Unless it's still low enough.
@@danivalvalsson8174 Could you imagine a map at the top of tertium. The heretics have successfully infiltrated the upper class areas and you have to fight on top of the spire? You could see the ship in orbit too.
The only thing that had me lay down my flamer is the fact that in most cases I'm the only person (for some weird reason) who can deal with snipers.. Even when there's more that one psyker in the group, or a vet.. kinda frustrating tbh
that is what is truly annoying about darktide. let me put it this way: its way too coop. its way too designed to depend on a team, i know this is the essence of coop games but i think darktide has exaggerated in that aspect a bit.
@@fluffymandy The game is designed to be a multiplayer experience and that's part of the point, it is not exaggerated, it is just not a single person rambo experience. You're playing the wrong game if you think it'd be better to just be able to do everything on your own, it is a team game and is supposed to be played in a way where you can rely on your team or at least need to in some aspects. If you can't work as a team or do so then you aren't a good teammate plain and simple
the flamer is so incredible when you get used to it. Can I ask, how do you try to use the combat axe? What is it good for, cause I find the eviscerators are a clear choice over everything else and I feel like I might be missing something. Also the thunder hammers are incredible but the fact that their powered up swings stop on the first target make them frustrating even tho they deal so much dmg, it's probably better that way, balance wise.
It might not be the only reason to use them - very fast attacks and mobility similar to the dagger - but I think one of the main reasons is the crit rate. It pairs very well with some of the feats the zealot has access to, mainly stacking bleeds, getting more crit chance from the bleed to stack even more, and the 75% toughness damage reduction on crit. Actually, that can be done to a lesser extent with other melee weapons by using your ult wisely because that will guarantee a crit which can then give the protection and add bleeds for extra crit chance.
@@gonkhead112 I tried using it and I'm having a blast, the knife is great too. Zealot has hands down the highest damage. Any boss completely melts on heresy just by one character and you see their hp just deplete rapidly. The thing is somehow all that damage doesn't translate very well to elites especially armored ones. It seems veteran and psyker are better at bulwarks and stuff but no one comes close to the damage zealot puts out on bosses.
@@NSFWTHICC as I said in my other comment, zealot has crazy damage on bosses but elites don't live long enough to use our bleed and crit chance on them, unless you crit on the first or second strike the enemy is pretty much dead, especially if there is teamwork involved. Im just not certain yet what is the best way to use that damage in conjunction with other characters yet.
@@DILLIGER90 generally speaking it's a pretty trash setup because as you said it's only useful if your first or second attacks are crit and most things will die before you can get true value out of the bleed/crit talent aside from bosses. Another big problem is the consistency of bleeds themselves with your ultimate CD talent. Aside from you hitting a crit randomly and ulting there are only 2 ways of generating consistent crits and bleeds (Aside from weapon perks) Ogyrn heavy talent and Vets Grenade bleed. That means 3/4 players NEED to run a specfic talent setup to make it valuable. If all team members are running synergies like this it feels amazing, without it feels like you are severely gimped.
i will say that the flamer I use for pushing sometimes, I'm able to use the burst to push back enemies and make them stagger, better to hold for hoards of course, but I love making some units useless
Any opinion on if Thy Wrath be Swift is worth compared to healback? Its effect is partially wrong as it also prevents full momentum loss/sprint interrupt from ranged.
Imo, I think in higher tier content, the healing is almost too valuable to pick over anything else. In a situation where you end up proccing the invul, getting all of your health back just from attacking is way too good. There is value in not being stunned while being hit, but health is far more important.
My thoughts are, the stun resistance can be good but maybe less consistent? Being able to heal like 100 health or so when you hit 1 health is really helpful, and if you stay alive for 90 more seconds you can use it again. If most of the damage you take throughout a match is just a little bit of health chip damage that gradually lowers your health, this is very valuable. The stun resistance on the other hand can be good if you are diving enemy ranged back-line and you don't want to be 100-0 by some random ranged enemies. From my 100 hours of experience, I find that the healing is just more useful in more situations than the stun resistance is. I think both can work though, but depends on circumstances and how good your team is. If you have a good team, you probably won't be in a situation where you need to worry about being stunlocked by a few ranged enemies.
why do you think so? they are more than viable and always a good addition to any team. i just think their skill tree is lacking and needs a rework. but their strong weapons make up for this at the moment.
same!! my flamer is built for tearing bosses. My tac axe with BM tears through the hordes. The next best weapon i'd dream to have is a knife with lacerate and HM.
Am i misremembering or is everything in darktide WAY tankier than everything in vermintide? Like i feel that the time it takes to kill one ogryn you can kill three chaos knights
Do it with veteran class and I'd be impressed...only class still with a toughness bug so you take instant bleed through damage.. also the zealots 2nd chest piece penance should be don't get hit with a single range attack not, don't use range lmao.. to easy
1. Why is he blocking ranged attacks? Can he do that? He's blocking even out of melee range. 2. Do all pro-gamers use axes instead of chainswords and chainaxes?
1. There's a blessing for it, so you can eventually get it on pretty much any weapon 2. One of the most important things in Tide games: Long animations can and will get you killed.
He's not actually blocking the ranged attacks. What he's doing is using side-dodges against ranged foes at short range, waiting for the "schwing!" visual effect from their rifle as a visual cue to dodge and finish closing the distance. You might ask, why not simply sprint forward while doing so? Why stand at a short distance away and block? Well, the thing is, focusing on the visual cue like that will tunnel-vision you and you'll get stabbed in the ass while you're looking for the flash. Single riflemen can only shoot once every so often, so it's more important to safely dodge the shot when it happens, rather than just trying to close as fast as possible. They're going to get one shot off whether you sprint in or stall like he does, so you might as well take it slow and safe. There IS a blessing for blocking ranged attacks but it specifically only rolls on the psyker's Force Sword.
@@rubbercable Yes, it makes you able to block ranged attacks. It does only roll on a psyker sword, but we need to wait for the re-blessings to be implemented to see if it's transferable. If it isn't, then I stand corrected. And yes, you can also dodge ranged attacks based on the cues.
@@BOnEhEAdD This right here is so true. I love the thunder hammer, but it's too slow when we get swarmed. Even with increased melee speed. Am disappointed with it atm.
I personally don't like the axes, the tradeoff with no cleave for increased single target dmg is not worth in my books. Since I usually don't use axes I don't really know the axes all that much. Why do you use this axe specifically?
It’s the only other weapon besides the knife that has high base crit chance so it’s the only other weapon besides the knife that works with Zealot’s bleed perks - which he took for this run. The problem with the knife is that it’s basic moveset is kind of trash and you struggle to kill anything unless you land a crit, whereas the tac axes can perform decently even if you get unlucky with crits. This one in particular (the Atrox) has some nice vertical swings that target heads easily. On top of all that, the tac axes have some amazing dodges so that he can kite enemies and dodge specials more easily. Of course the axe would struggle with hordes, but that’s why he has a flamer (and the flamer actually does a great job of killing elites too.)
I only use axes with the Brutal Momentum trait/blessing, which gives me the cleave necessary. i also prefer a different version of this axe with diagonal heavies
You don't want cleave when you already have a flamer. And running bolter is sub optimal at Heresy+ due to the sheer amount of elites/specials and the low ammo count/slow switching and reloading. You need a very high single target damage and crit, pref. top down swings. Daggers and Axes work nicely, it's mainly a preferance and your luck of getting one.
I don't know about you but I find changing left click attack to my mouse wheel way easier on my finger then left clicking 22,000 times a match as zealot 😂
I don’t like ranged weapons in this game . All of them feels completely trash in one way or another . Imagine a clutch situation ,hordes , specials , elites and you using flamer , bolt gun , any staff.. most of them has long swap animation or bad TTK (compared to vermentide 2 weapons )
Probably the worst weapon combo. The axe is quite good but the flamer is kind of useless - low range and useful only against hordes and in choke points and bulwarks apparently.
That may be, but it is a team focused game and the AI director punishes you for not being near your team with extra special spawns.
