Welp, as expected, Aiea Heights has failed today. I took the big risk came up here so I can confirm if she was dead or not. And sadly she is... Since she failed, I can now confirm it is offically dead and thankfully no-one else will ever have to revisit this siren again for another test and leave completely disappointed, Hooray!
Pretty much everything else is fine, Blower, Rotator and the antennas. This Thunderbolt has been dead since April of 2023 and it seems HI-EMA hasn't done a single thing about it over the last 6 months. If that doesn't tell you enough about HI-EMA, then Idk what will LMFAO. Then again fixing the chopper is maybe easier said than done.
Although it didn't work, I still had a pretty good time coming up here to film. I was also informed that this, Kalakaua Rec Center and all other remaining Legacy Sirens will be replaced sometime later this month. I'm very heartbroken to see the last of the legacy system go, but I'm happy that I was able to film the last of these legacy sirens when I still had the chance! Also, Enjoy some 5M ASMR Loll.

To End this video off on a more positive note, I have gotten a new camera and a tripod! Which also explains the stillness and a little better quality on the video. Im now using a Sony DSC-HX80, Which is pretty good for a beginners camera! This'll mean more better-quality videos soon! And I also plan to buy some of Edaans Mini Sirens, Paint a few brown and green and putting them up in my backyard so, the legacy system can kind of live on through these mini sirens loll.

This siren sounded during the strongest earthquake occured in Chile and starting a tsunami that nearly destroyed coasts of the Hawaiian islands.
The Blower sounds like a washing machine. It’s a shame that this one probably can’t be saved.

The chopper motor finally died. and so, the EMA finally called it quits for this one and is planning a replacement.
@@MahalohaEthan808 The new replacement 6024B will be located at Nāpuanani Neighborhood Park according to planning documents from 2011 via the TMK (Tax Map Key) and will most likely be installed in mid-2025 or 2026.
@@ParadiseSirens Ah, decent placement for it since it can cover some gaps that the bolt's left behind.

@@theplaneeditorstjpoharyant3107 Sort of true, but as far as money goes, were getting pretty low on money. It doesn't help that all of the state and our tax money is going to that dumb monorail project thingy which is up in the MILLIONS to just maintain... And since its not fixed I wouldn't doubt it if this one was on their bucket list to replace already.

I’m glad we recorded it back in 2022, this one will definitely be missed!! Interestingly enough, the HI-EMA map lists the lower Aiea High School Thunderbolt as active… which we both know is not the case lol. Looks like Kalakaua & Wahiawa are the last 2 mechanicals for the foreseeable future.
Yeah, truly the end of an awesome era. I wonder if they listed it as active because it received the radio signal and everything but the rotator and chopper worked possibly. Also I heard that Kalakaua, this and the last legacy sirens are being replaced sometime later this month sadly.
@@MahalohaEthan808 I’ll keep my eye out for any news releases regarding new sirens, have you heard if Wahiawa is getting replaced too? They also listed Moanalua Valley as Nonfunctional but I know it works for a fact since they sent a crew out there earlier this year to fix the bad batteries.
@@oahusirensI believe Wahiawa is one of the sirens being replaced later this month. Since the EMA usually replaces 3-4 sirens a year I think. Can’t be too sure though.
The beam is working right it cant be replaced

It’s not… they can simply restore the chopper and everything on it it’s not hard but it costs lots of money

The fact that their labeling it beyond repair is actually hilarious. Why don't they just get a new chopper from Westshore services?
Well they can’t get any repair from west shore since HI-EMA has a contract with Federal Signal themselves.

Yeah lol, Worth the risk tho. So others wont have to travel to this dead siren in future tests. RIP

@@RealRedWolf I sure hope so since TBolt7000 tried acquiring the I-Force at Maunalua bay but was unsuccessful. Hopefully It can fit in ur house too. Though I do remember hearing that they give the sirens to private contractors and who knows what they do with them, Id say they are most likely scrapped due to their condition sadly.
