Yup Yup!, Today I headed down to town to capture the last alive Thunderbolt on Oahu! I came down here mostly due to celebrate 2 years since I last filmed this beauty, and to celebrate hitting 100 subscribers! Thank you all! :D
Just like the last bolt' I've been to, the start up on this one also got me worried for a second as the chopper turned on then off then the blower kicked in whilst it winded down then roared to life doing a 1 minute alert. Other than that weird start up, the test was successful and she worked like a charm and golly you can really feel the vibration of this beauty! I felt the ground and my body vibrating a lot during that wind down! Whooh!
Unfortunately, since I had arrived pretty close to the test time I couldn't prepare so, like always, I had to do the old and VERY obnoxious run around the siren type of recording. I really hope I can get a tripod (and a new camera) one of these days lol...

I like thunderbolt sirens as now this will be remembered because even though it was last month this was my first ever siren test
Nice video! Dang, never heard a thunderbolt have a wine-up like that. Lets hope its okay and get fixed instead of replaced. ❤

This thing is much MUCH louder than you expect
Glad it’s still running strong, every month is literally a gamble with legacy sirens.
Yup! I plan to try film Aiea Heights next month. Hope she’s still alive
@@MahalohaEthan808unfortunately Aiea Heights thunderbolt does not work as this is the last thunderbolt that actually has a chopper working as aiea high schools blower only works the chopper don’t work
@@tracing114I’ll try see next month. After all it has been reported so hopefully they done smth abt it.
@@MahalohaEthan808There is a slight chance that the Aiea ‘Bolt failed due to a contactor acting up within the controls, similar to the Thunderbeam back in January. It’s 50/50 hit or miss at this point. But I’m hoping for the best

I have bad news, this is coming down NEXT MONTH, i got ahold of the guy whos in charge of the Hawaii's Siren system and the last 4 legacy sirens are coming down next month and being replaced to Modulators. they have the funding to do it and theyre gonna get rid of em. I may be able to save them
Hmm you were able to contact the head director at HI-EMA via Email? Well, that sucks to hear they’ll be all gone… Though I do hope you can save this or Aieas Thunderbolt. Tbolt7000 tried getting ahold of the I-Force at Maunalua Bay but was unsuccessful.
@@MahalohaEthan808 I talked to them in a call at a meeting actually on WebEx.
@@RealRedWolfHmm interesting. Though I think EMA should focus more on replacing the dead sirens such at the Alewa Heighs, Maunalani and Aiea High School.
@@MahalohaEthan808 hopefully. But apparently they dont have the resources right now to. I found out theres 57 dead sirens on Oahu and only 2 are legacy sirens, the others are Modulators and DSA
I just saw it go off on the first of this month, perhaps they will keep it up for a little longer, it seemed to be in perfect working condition.

Very loud, you could even feel the ground vibrating a lot near it.
Im guessing it's a chopper 6 running somewhere on 210V? Or it's chopper 3. Also it's a B series because of the windup.
Close, B-Series Tbolts are the later versions of the Thunderbolt and the main head is off-set from the rotator box and this one runs off single phase power, which would make it a 1000BT instead of a B-series loll
@@MahalohaEthan808 The "B" series you were talking about was on a 1000. I mean why wouldn't you call a 1000T "B" series?

@@thunderbolt1000Tguythe reason why is because a 1000T B Series would be called a 1000T B Series, but a 1000BT is a single phase running power supply, thus 1000BT Thunderbolt sirens are not called a B series.

I recon you do! It’s quite a fun experience and she’s the healthiest and possibly the only working Tbolt on the island as of now.

chopper 4 thunderbolt 1000t. its not a 1000bt
It’s a b series t just means it’s dual toned but it is a b series
So it is a 1000bt
@@tracing114 The reason this is actually called a 1000BT is because the power supply runs on single phase. 1000ATs use 3 Phase power whilst 1000BTs use 1 Phase power. Also this is just a regular Tbolt not a B series. Those have a very off-center horn from the rotator box compared to a normal bolt.

Yeah, but I’ll say this was pretty dang loud. 4Ms I’d say are just as punchy as 5Ms ngl.
5M’s aren’t earth shatteringly loud like everyone says they are. Just a touch louder than 4M.
