    Walking around in soaking wet clothes must have not been ideal, but I must say- the smiles remain the same on the Jersey Shore to this day...

      Yes Sean...it looks like people were having just as much fun at the shore 100 years ago as they are today. Even with the wet clothes, lying directly in the sand, and no beach chairs. 😃😎

    Ten yards of flannel were required to make the average bathing garb for a woman in the late 19th century.
