      Not really. Most modern training systems are based of the Russian system. Periodization, volume, variations, phases of training. The majority of weightlifting programs you'll find incorporate these things. Bulgarian was none of that. Just snatch, clean and jerk, squat. Heavy, heavy, heavy every session, multiple sessions a day. Did it work? Absolutely. But it's just not a system that's sustainable for 95% of athletes

      @williamhall9204 Год назад

      @Leonidas No it is not so common. However there are many examples of great weightlifters that have employed the bent arms technique. My favorite example of that pulling style is Victor Solodov, former 90kg class world record holder. I’m pretty sure he did a 518 lbs. C&J at 198lbs. body weight.I will not comment about the thrusting motion because I’m not sure about that method. I’m only familiar with the standard so called- double knee bend method.Karlos is definitely using his own variation of the double knee bend technique. I do find it interesting however. I’ve got to watch the slow motion video repeatedly to attempt figuring it out.

      Clarence is cool, but he never achieved anything on an international level, gym lifts don't count. Klokov took silver at 2008 Olympics, which is good but not great. Internet personalities are not the best ever at this sport just cuz you know em.
