- Infrared (IR) spectroscopy works based on the vibrational transitions but interestingly all these transitions may not IR active. Those transitions that result in a net change in the dipole moment can only show signal in IR spectroscopy.

very strong intuitive discussion of IR spectroscopy basics. One note: please avoid using the same variable (mu) for both dipole moment and reduced mass. There are conventions in physics and chemistry that avoid this.
Wonderful explaination
Blessed to have people like you.
I wish you grow a lo5
Thanks for your support. Keep watching.
Thank you sir
Very clear explanation......
Thank you
Sir please do more videos of instrumental analysis especially spectroscopy
Super sir
Gpat is near please make some vedio sir ,it gonna be very helpful 🙏
Thanks
Excellent explanation
Very useful ❤❤
more than great! 👍🏻But I hope that the translation will be available
How we will find the ir spectroscopy to these inactive molecules
Thank you sir...for your best & easily understadable description...🙏
You are most welcome
You nailed it sir
Is infrared spectrophotometry and infrared spectrophotometry are same
CO2 can be made IR active bcz of asymmetrical and bending mode of vibration...This type of vibrations create temporary dipole moment which make CO2 ir active..!
And hence co2 is Raman active
Wrong
✌️nicee
Thank you.

Which app u used for this bro

at 11:22 why didnt u consider c-H bond!!!
In alcohols O-H stretching and C-O stretching are more important and characteristic to identify the functional group. C-H stretching is more important in compounds like alkanes and aldehydes.

why CO2 has an IR spectrum if is not active?
