- This is a video from me, DarkspinesSonic A.K.A Da1AndOnlySonic, showing an S-Rank run of Classic Rooftop Run on Sonic Generations for the PS3. This is one of many S-Rank videos to come for Sonic's 20th Anniversary celebration video game, which will include every act as well as every boss and rival (both on hard mode). Enjoy! ^_^
Note: This video was captured using a DBTech USB Video & Audio Grabber, priced at $16.99 at the time of this video being made. I decided to snag this device and give it a go after seeing it was relatively new to the market while boasting a low price with the ability to not only capture composite and s-video, but also component at up to 480p (or 576p for PAL). Despite some tearing (primarily in areas where a lot of white is present) and a bit of what appears to be color bleeding, I doubt you'll find anything that can capture 480p at this level of quality for anywhere near the price.

Sonic's S rank dance is one of the best parts of Sonic Generations.

I think it´s an unwritten rule for all videogames: always put the best/most iconic/most awesome item in places you cannot really use them. Happens all the time.

the main reason I like this level is there is a glitch where if you do the right movement you'll be moving 3d in a 2d world and if you go past the certain checkpoint and die you get a close up of classic sonic

My one fucking complaint is that they put the Flying Battery into Generations as a stage hazard and not an actual stage

Flying Battery would fit perfectly into Generations
I'm pretty sure that ain't flying battery. I think it was just an Eggman blimp that happen to be floating around Spagonia. Flying Battery would be MUCH bigger and have a the color scheme it had in S3&K.

A very pretty game, but I do question the city architects who decided that there needs to be a billion ramps and loops everywhere so no real reason.
One of the greatest levels nice to see it done well.
i just ordered this off of amazon and i was looking for recordings that were used by the DB usb thing nd i cldnt find it but now i did and nice gameplay

I found S-Ranking in this game to be quite easy.
I don't understand how s-ranks work in this game. What I mean is how can you get a high score. I thinks it's all luck really. Nice S-rank run. :)

The classic sonic music is so off. It doesn't sound like classic Genesis music. It doesn't even sound retro it actually sounds more modern
Charles Millay dude you're right since I've posted this Forces made me realize mega drive music in a modern game isn't great
Let it be known that Genesis/Megadrive music can be done well. The composer just didn't use the best instrumentation for all of Classic Sonic's themes in Forces. In fact it's kinda rare that you see someone in general make Genesis/Megadrive styled music that sounds like it could authentically come out of a Genesis/Megadrive game.
