I remember a good time ago, Sonix lost to Desmona at a Coinbox, and bro said enough. He then tweeted something like "let me practice the matchup and I'll beat all the Steves one by one". Looks like he's a man of his word
Honestly it's sad how people treat sonix. To be fair he's played sonic for almost all of the time he's been in smash, he doesn't play sonic because he's good, at least not primarily. And he is a good player. Good job Sonix.
Yeah he's an OG Sonic fanboy with devotion to the character. He just happens to also have capitalized on Sonic's high skill ceiling. Even if some of the skill is "spin to win" and "play lame win game".

@@SussyBaka_irl I highly doubt it, he got a very lucky bracket path. Managed to catch Mute when he wasn't feeling well, then got a very good matchup against Skyjay because Incin can't do shit against Steve, then got AlexDisc who I don't even think is ranked and if he is he's not top 100. Then got Leo who has a Steve problem and doesn't really have good chars for Steve. Once his bracket luck ran out he got 6-0'd out the tournament and it wasn't close. He's a decent Steve but he's not likely he will be top 8'ing more majors
@@AshenDemon You can refer to bracket luck all you want, but it doesn't deny what occurred, plus what you're referring to is lighter seeding, given his lack of recent tourney entrances.
Mute is extremely inconsistent, despite possibly being Top 15. His inconsistency doesn't take away from his own skill, just as Many possibly catching this guy on bad day doesn't take away from his dub.
Similar with SkyJay, Incineroar is a fighter with a decent mu chart & is scary af when pilotated by him, yet encountering a losing mu doesn't deter from the dub, otherwise are we just gonna white knight say Sonix for getting double eliminated by ShinyMark, due to Pika beating Sonic?! Nah that's ridiculous on both counts.
Leo is like Tweek, someone with clear inconsistency in the Steve mu cause neither are practising as efficiently as possible, like Many is much worse than say Acola, a player Leo has wins on & yet an in-house Steve player with a different playstyle, a player worse than you, somehow defeated you?
Again that's white knighting a player whose already got Steve experience & dubs on the character, but wasn't prepared & ignorance of the opponent doesn't again, detract from the dub Many acquired.
ShinyMark labs like crazy, not being too dissimilar to Sonix, infamous for 1 of the most notorious grinders in the meta, so he'd naturally be ready for some of the most problematic fighters in the meta & Sonix is literally THE Steve killer, alongside Sparg0, so that's to be expected.
In fact, being eliminated from bracket by both players who made it to GF just speaks volumes to the capabilites of this player, but sure everyone had an off day, this dude is unknown & Steve carries, despite making 5th at an international Super Major...
