I idea of the Mohawks and others using bows and arrows while sort of true is a bit of a historical misconception. Many Indigenous peoples of Americas armed themselves with muskets pretty much as soon as they could barter with them, and often times they had better guns than the colonists did because they weren't restricted by arms controls what guns they could purchase. If anything, colonists usually preferred to target the camps where the woman and children would be because they knew in a straight up fight with Indigenous peoples they would lose 9/10 times.
I enjoyed this and would like to see more, although I would prefer if you based it on actual historic research, not randos voting on the internet.
I could also add the Nepalese Gurkhas, among the fiercest and bravest warriors we've known. I think they'll be put in A.
Other warriors worthy of mention: French Musketeers, Ming Dynasty Warriors, Indian Rajputs, Swiss Pikemen, the Scots.
Absolute joke of a list
How can the Mongols and Roman Centurions not be S tier? They were the tools that shaped empires. Ridiculous ranking.
Half these rankings aren’t by actual power, but meme status. The Spartans had so many issues with their focus on eugenics that it pretty wiped them out as a society, and they didn’t stand at Thermopylae alone.
Meanwhile, the Aztecs had fucking obsidian swords that could decapitate HORSES. The Mongols could do seemingly impossible archery on horseback, and engaged in biological warfaref(and helped spread bubonic plague, whoops).
There are so many more incredible armies in history that AREN’T growling white men that need more exposure 💕

What do I think? I think this list is based off pop culture popularity and has nothing to do with the military effectiveness of each group, especially since every single group mentioned has been defeated in battle numerous times. Im surprised ninjas and pirates arent on the list.

important to note some of these soldiers were over exaggerated in propaganda old sources during the period, famous example is spartans
True. Their hayday was relatively short lived. For most of Spartan history they were something akin to an amusement park for the rest of Greece. A place where they could come and watch re-enactments of past valour of Greece.
As someone with a lifted truck with Spartan stickers on it, it was.
Same with Berserkers. They are almost mythological.

IMO, the warriors that use wood or stone instead of metal are more dangerous because they seem like the ones that could kill you with their bare hands alone and lack of gear.
I don't really even understand how one could rank these at all.

Why did you guys show Aztec or more so Mayan warriors from apocolypto instead of Apache warriors. I mean there's dozens of western movies with Apache warriors and there has to be at least 6 that have actual historical representation or actors of Apache descent that contributed to costume designs to show. I mean plains and north american first nation indigenous tribes looked a lot different than Aztec and Mayan warriors

Samurai’s aren’t S !?!?
Samurai were basically cops and never really fought wars. They were used to put down peasant rebellions. Every once in a while they would fight each other. They also lost every battle against an outside force.
Much of the abilities of the Samurai have been exaggerated. Not to say they weren't good at what they were primarily used for. That said they sacrificed armor for agility (as they were Martial Arts experts), which means against a foe with anything more then leather armor, they were basically useles.

Mongol warriors were clear S tier. Sorry. This is just badly done.
