    My sister bought an echo show for my mom, but it’s under her name since she bought it. Will the set up you show work the same on the show? My mom doesn’t have a smart phone, just a basic flip phone will it still work?
    Also can the other people set up on there see your messages and calls you are making, or is it private?

    Levin, can I have my wife listen to music on Amazon Music through her dot while I listen to DIFFERENT music in my office using Amazon music on my dot by using profiles? I dont really want to pay for Amazon Music just for one account. Is there a solution for this. Curious if there's a video.

    • @LevinsReview
      @LevinsReview  Год назад +2

      @Steffan Piper Thank you for the great question!
      I used my Spotify account to test it out. I have Echo dot 3rd get in my bedroom and Echo 4th gen in my office, with the profile setup as I showed in this video. And during the test I could play only one song at the time, each time we ask from Alexa to play other song, the new songs played from the both Echo devices. So the answer would be no, this profile setup would not meet your requirements.

    is there any way to link diferent spotify account in every profile so it doesn't mix up

    • @Not-just-doing-I.T.
      @Not-just-doing-I.T. Год назад

      Exactly why I am here ... I suspect there is no reply as the answer appears to be no! Spotify have simply said it is a 3rd Party issue ...since 2017. As far as I can tell, Amazon has allowed developer access to voice profiles since 2022, but maybe they have not allowed the integration to competing services (in this case, Amazon music). Who knows who is to blame, as nobody is clear about the situation. Given the restrictions on Amazon Household (one additional adult + kids only on Echo), I suspect it is Amazon causing the issue.
      NB Amazon Household allows an additional Adult. This appears to be the only other profile allowed, ie asking Alexa to switch profile. My wife installed Alexa app on her phone using her Amazon account, which is part of 'my' household. From the App, she adds Spotify. We can now switch between TWO profiles and play Spotify. Very frustrating it is restricted as I cannot add my two 'young adult' children, and have four profiles with Spotify.

    • @DanangWidiantoro
      @DanangWidiantoro Год назад

      @@Not-just-doing-I.T. I don’t think it's about competition, coz amazon music is not available in indonesia. I can’t even use apple music in my alexa too. the only option is spotify. that’s why I have family subscription so we can have diferent playlist for each member. the only think we can do is we have to setup echo in bedrooms with diferent amazon account, so we can play music from our own playlist but we can’t use announcement feature

    Is it possible to use geofencing routines for the multiple profiles? Like for example if your wife leaves the house then alexa would turn off a certian light?

    • @LevinsReview

      Alexa has basic automation compare to other system like home assistance. But it does possible to create routines by location
      Go to more choose routines , press on create routine, under when it happens choose location

    I linked my Spotify account and I created my daughter her own Spotify account, but when she would asked Alexa to play music my music would stop playing to play in her Alexa device in her room. This was so frustrating. I think I just need to download the Alexa app on her phone, log in with MY INFO, press on SOMEONE ELSE (that’s what I didn’t know), and then, link her spotify account using her Alexa app on her phone in order for her Alexa app didn’t use my Spotify account to play on her Alexa device. I think that is what I was missing. I’ll try when I get home and I’ll let you know.

      I don't think you can link a different Spotify on the same Amazon account even if you use different profiles. I found one solution is to create a different Amazon account and add it to your household so you can change accounts on Alexa when you tell her to.

      Thank you for the great question,
      You can do this, but alexa will give you the info only about orders from amazon.
      Also, alexa will search for this info only from the main account.

      Well Currently it's not working that way both profiles also has an Amazon account so my question to you is how do you get this done and if so you think you could do a video walk through on the steps.

    • @osvaldobarrera9309
      @osvaldobarrera9309 Год назад

      @@bugsyard I think, the person that is not the owner of the main account has only has to have his/her own profile using your account. Otherwise, I think the other person will have to use your Alexa devices as a guest.

      hi, thank you for the question!
      If you are connected to the app press on the three stripes where is written "More", then choose settings, scroll down until you see Sign Out. Press Sign Out. Log in with your Amazon account.
      Skip the stage of adding phone number by pressing not now,
      On the screen what is your name you will see your account name and beneath it you will see a blue plus button, press it to enter the name of the secondary user, then continue with the process I show in the video.
      Let me know how it works for you.

    When you have set up profiles how do you play separate Spotify accounts

    • @LevinsReview
      @LevinsReview  Год назад

      If you want to set up multiple Spotify accounts on your Amazon Alexa device and switch between them, you can follow these steps:
      Open the Amazon Alexa app on your phone.
      Go to the "Settings" section.
      Tap on the device whose Spotify account you want to change.
      Scroll down and tap on "Music and Media."
      Tap on "Link New Service."
      Select Spotify from the list of available services.
      Follow the prompts to log in to your Spotify account and link it to your Amazon Alexa device.
      Repeat these steps to add additional Spotify accounts to your Amazon Alexa device.
      To switch between accounts, you can simply say "Alexa, switch to my [Spotify account name]" or go to the "Music and Media" section in the Amazon Alexa app and tap on the account you want to switch to.
      Let me know if it helps

    I have done everything you have mentioned but still no joy. I want my wife to be able to play HER music through MY echo studio. Q. Does she sign into MY account to set up her voice ?
    Q. Does she answer the questions to her PHONE or to MY echo studio ?
    After doing all of this she still wants to use her own echo dot AND be able to use my echo studio - will that be possible as she will be signed into her own account ? Thank you.

    • @LevinsReview
      @LevinsReview  Год назад

      @Ashat Mashortz Thank you for the great question.
      1) In order to work with a shared Echo Dot device, you need to create one main account.
      After your registered the main account with Echo Dot, take the phone of your wife and login into the Alexa app with the same email account you’re created.
      After you logged in, you will be asked to choose a profile, now press on “I’m Someone Else” and start creating the second profile. At the end of the setup process of the second profile, each of you should ask Alexa: “Alexa, Who Am I? ”
      If everything is right, then Alexa should recognize each of you.
      2) About the music, to give you the best answer, it would be great if you could tell me which music platform you are using? Do you have a family account or each of you has a separate account? And do you mean that each of you wants to play their own playlists?
      3) As for the divided Echo dot.
      Do you have two separate amazon accounts for each echo dot? And if does, is there a reason you choose this setup? ( it’s not the ideal setup for echo devices )
