Man I teared up watching Ken, can't imagine that feeling. His son was in that crash and seeing the state of the car must be soul crushing for a father.

Glad he will be ok, it's obvious you love your boy, you remind me of my dad, I wasn't much older than Ben when I lost him tragically so if either of you see this, just know how lucky you both are to have each other, never take one day for granted. Much love from Alabama. 🙂👨👦

Praying hard for you, Ben and your whole family through this rough time, he definitely had someone watching over him. Seeing the aftermath of his car almost broke me down as well, he is definitely very, very lucky. Give him my best from me, and hope for a speedy recovery!
God bless him bud, thank god that he is okay, I have 6 children and none of them are old enough to be driving yet, but that could have been so much worse it's always a joy to have Ben in the video it's awesome to watch you 2 interact..

Glad Ben is ok now. My heart sank when I saw his car. My husband was in a car accident 2 years ago. He was rear ended by a drunk driver. Luckily there wasn't much damage to our car. I can't go into details because it is still going through court. He still wakes up every night at 2am (when it happened) and jolts. He hasn't driven since. He does suffer from severe PTSD because of it.
My heart feels your relief as a parent. I'm so very glad Ben is ok. Thanks for sharing your story Ken.

Ben is a lucky boy. My mother was involved in a collision a few years back and when I went to the car recovery yard to see the car my reaction was a little bit like yours. Complete shock and you can't help but shed a few tears. Luckily she was fine. Ben will be fine and at least we can take some positives from this situation. Cars are easily replaced, people are not.
firstly I want to wish Ben all the strength and encouragement during his recovery. it broke my heart when ken got to see the car. I'm going to try and learn to slow down and enjoy each day and the loved ones in my life. life is so fragile ...get well soon Ben your family is in my prayers
my heart goes out to ben even now. im about his age if not much older and i feel for him… being involved in the racing community up until i was 20 taught me that it can happen in a heartbeat at anytime. We put so much faith in vehicles to save our lives its times like these that remind us we arnt invincible… glad you made it out benny boy it makes me sad to see young guys our age wind up in these situations with their whole lives ahead of them…

Wow!!! Very emotional Ken. My son just got his license and started driving. Made him watch video. This touched me. Ben was blessed, could have been much worse. Much love for your family and hope he has good recovery.

I can totally empathize Ken, being a parent. He's gonna be OK, he was in a good car which you can see by the airbag, thank god he must have worn a seat belt. These measures helped save him and protect him from further harm. The fact he is going to be OK is down to a loving family bringing up a child to be safety conscious. You taught Ben to wear a seat belt and he listened. Great family, full of love.

I lost it watching this vlog. My Dad was involved in an accident at the Ritson Road off ramp in Oshawa. The woman behind him claimed she wasn't speeding but she drove his car up over the guardrail. She hit him so hard that the back rest sheared off and a bunch of other horrible things happened to the car. At that time he was a pharmaceutical sales rep so he needed the contents of his trunk. When he arrived at the wreckers, the employee wanted to know if Dad was related to the driver because there was "no way" anyone could have survived that crash. I think about that crash EVERY time I pass that spot... It was an 80s accident and Dad passed in 2013... There was a bad accident there just last month... The off ramp is too short and people come in there way too quickly... Heather xo

Whoa. Towing guy was right, Ben was lucky. Glad to see he is alive and kicking, I imagine he will be sore as hell for a while just from the whiplash effect. Cars can be replace people cant. Enjoy all the time you can together, and live everyday to the fullest

hey ken. iv been a fan for years. and i just came across this video and would just like to say that there is an angel over watching everyone. i was in a really bad car accident a couple of years back, and til this day i thank god for not letting me go. i hope your son gets better man.

My son turned 16 in July and got his first car. We both watch your vids and we watched this one together with tears in our eyes. I hope my son learned why I am always harping on him to be careful. Get well soon Ben!

Damn! Really good to hear he is doing ok. Things like a car can be replaced, so just be glad he got away from it as well as he did. All the best to Ben and you all in recovering from that. Pray I never have to experience something like that with my family.

It's amazing what you can walk away from! Many years ago, I loaned my then new 82 Firebird to a friend. After a light rain, she tried to pass another vehicle, lost control, put it over the curb onto grass causing it to go sideways into 12" square cement post that was supporting a wooden parking abutment. The post was pushed to a 45 degree angle launching the car into the air where witnesses said it flipped 2-3 times before coming to rest upside down. My friend cut her knee crawling out over broken glass.
Ben, the full impact won't hit you for a couple of days, take care guy!!!
Saw you on fb, I'm crying. As I said there, he had someone watching over him. Once seeing the passenger side, it's scary for sure. My Husband lost one of his friends on his bday (Jan 1st) to a horrible car accident. So seeing that Ben got hurt, and knowing he'll be Ok, was good to hear. Vehicles are replaceable.... A life is not. Prayer's for fast healing go out to Ben.
Ben was blessed that day. I am watching this video for the first time in 2024, and it felt like it was just yesterday that the accident happened. Despite the state of the car, it saved his life.

I know this vid is a year old or so but it's never too late to be nice. Your son was definitely blessed and protected after seeing the crashed car. You're a good man, a nice guy with a great spirit for life. I empathize with you as a father myself. That was so brave of you to go to see the car to try to find the phone, i was almost in tears just watching you reacting to seeing the damage. Glad Ben is ok.
