This is my first comment in your channel; though I just have viewed only a few of your videos, however, the word "ambient" in your channel name caught my attention; and after watching a few episodes I have subscribed your channel. I get to see and hear what you saw and heard during the photography; no contamination, no background music, no commentary; just pure enjoyment. You accompanied us with your journey. Kudos to you!
Hello sir/madam your channel is very the best for me . I am from Cambodia 🇰🇭 I hope one day I want to be Vlogger like you . Which camera do you use in video ?
Hi, @ambient_exploration, must've been about a week since I discovered not just your channel but this sub-genre as a whole. I never did like all the travel vlogs where the focus was on the vlogger instead of the scenery. So your videos have added something entirely novel to my life. If things go well, I hope to someday start doing what you're doing now. (Yes, that's how much of an impression you've had on me ❤) Could you please tell me a bit about how you make these videos? 1. What sort of camera do you use? 2. Do you use stands? Selfie sticks? Or maybe mount on your head? 3. How much editing goes in the videos? I've noticed there's basically zero cuts or transitions, the entire video's a single footage. But you probably work on colors, right? 4. Do you travel to all these places so frequently? Do you scout the route a few times before recording, or is it your first time too?
Hello and thank you for the questions. I too like to let the location be the star, and there is something nice about seeing what a place is like for a solid hour or two. Now about those questions... 1. This video was shot with the DJI Osmo Pocket 3. 2. I hold the camera in my hand with just the mini tripod that comes with the camera. 3. I try to have as few cuts as possible, though in this video there was a couple having an extremely strange conversation behind me as I approached Kiyomizu Temple, so I cut that out. I also edit color and sound. 4. This I think is the most enjoyable aspect of making these type of videos, finding and scouting locations then planning a route. This particular walk was somewhat of a scouting walk, I have been here many times before but there were some things I wanted to check for the next time. Usually I have either visited the location before, or will have scouted it beforehand. Sometimes the light is just right and there's no time to scout so I just go on instinct. If you're interested in making these types of videos I'd say go for it. It's great to have these extended unique looks into places around the world. Best of luck on your journey!
