The Ruins of Alph are actually based on ancient stone-slab tombs found in Asaka, Japan. Most importantly the Takamatsuzuka Tomb. The Unown are also speculated to be based on the dozens of keyhole tombs named kofun tombs found in Japan, named that way because they are only visible from the sky and appear as keyhole shapes.
BlueBoyPhin has a really amazing video essay on all of them.
04:00 actually those rumors were true, in the beta Erika was the leader of the Lavender Town Gym, and she was dead, controlled by a Vileplume and a Tangela, that were supposed to be ghost types too, also that's the reason why Vileplume and Gloom are a raffresia Arnoldi, because that flower stinks like decay flesh (another link to why Erika was being used as an empty corpse). That's the reason for the design of her kimono, and why Erika's first sprite and the Channelers first sprite have things in common (Those storiea are very common in Japan). All about that was scratched however, and we ended up having a Grass type Gym in the city with one of the most buildings, that doesn't make sense.

@@ianhabbie7201 Helix Chamber, all the data is there, Erika being the leader in Lavender Town and how her team was (I think Blaine was the Celadon Gym Leader and that gym had 80mBs inside), actually Agatha wasn't the Ghost Master, her team was different, with Eeveevolutions, a Tangela and a Tauros. But in the case of Erika's first sprite, it still showed up for the first games as it was intended, a dead woman with a kimono, then for Pokemon Yellow they changed it. Vileplume also kept his original ghost type for Pokemon Stadium, as Jynx, Vileplume actually was a ghost going out from those petals and Jynx an empty carcass, it's more obvious with the animation when both are defeated.

That Ruins of Alph theory is interesting but afaik there's just a cave around the middle of the area Johto is based on that has weird symbols carved into the walls

22:11 actually this is false. multiple universes in USUM contain humans outside of the Ultra Recon Squad: including one in the Ultra ruins, which you mentioned in the video, and an implied civilization (though only 2 appear) in Kartana’s dimension
The Twinleaf idea you presented is neat, but blatantly wrong. It’s clear he lost it on the Sea Mauville since that whole questline ends with an encounter with a Spiritomb
also the odd keystone isn't in twinleaf town it's in Route 209 , easily searched on bulbapedia.

32:12 theres another theory I'm seeing around that the paradox pokemon aren't actually from the past or future but rather they are the works of a mad scientist and their interpretations of what these pokemon would look in the past and future
Yeah, that theory makes sense to me because I don’t think Walking Wake, Gouging Fire, or Raging Bolt make sense at all. That theory is simply fact in my headcanon, at least.
In game dlc there is stated that they are not from past and future but rather from universe where all mons are dinosaurs or robots

It is actually stated in canon that paradox Pokémon are not from the past nor the future, they’re actually pokemons from a parallel universe being brought by the machine made by Sada/Turo.
Wether this alternate reality is set in a past or futuristic setting is up to interpretation because different universes might have different laws and patterns of evolution.

Not sure if someone mentioned it but. Yeah, from what I heard about that blocked door, you'd scan certain cards, that would allow you to face competitive teams used by Real life previous tournament champions or something.

I have the impression the all those worlds through the ultra wormholes can have a mix of familiar and unfamiliar Pokémon. It's a bit like how new Pokémon and forms can exist in a different version of the same region, even in the same generation in some cases

Let me disagree: Guyana isn't an island (but has islands). But... I believe you got the wrong Guyana.
The Guyanas encompass the ex- Spanish, English, Dutch, French and Portuguese Guyanas, which is now Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname, French Guiana, and Amapa in Brazil.
See how Guyana and Guiana are spelt differently. In Japanese, Guyana and Guiana are also spelt differently. Guyana is spelt ガイアナ _Ga-i-a-na,_ while Guiana is spelt ギアナ _Gi-a-na._ And they took the "Giana" one, as French Guiana.
*Mew originally comes from French Guiana, not Guyana, according to Japanese source.*
And it makes more sense for French Guiana to be where on earth it was found. Mew is said to be the origin of all life on earth (in the lore). It is a wink to a popular belief that life comes from outer space. Thus, its apparence in Space in the anime and Pokémon Snap. You know where European Space Agency have their Spaceport? In French Guiana.
It also explain Team Rocket's quest for Mew or Mewtwo. You may wonder why Team Rocket and their admin has rocketry name? Because, well because of the space theme, which is further link to French Guiana and its spaceport.

The SS Anne can't be the SS Cactus, not only because of the entirely different internal layouts of the ships, but because, as stated in FireRed and LeafGreen, the games take place at the sake time as Ruby and Sapphire. How could a ship that has been abandoned for decades on a sandbar in Hoenn be the same ship that just left port in Kanto.
S.S Anne can't even leave Kanto in Let's GO cause they turned what should have been a BIRDGE for it to go under that was the cycling road, into a basic land path

I’ve actually never heard of the Unown being associated with Arceus before-I’ve only seen them being associated with Entei before and didn’t understand why-but now I have a theory. This is just going off of random stuff I happened to hear and remember, and I might be remembering it wrong, but, anyway...
As I understand it, Entei, Raikou, and Suicune were just normal Pokémon that died when a tower they were living in burned down with them inside it, but they were then brought back to life-I think, by Ho-Oh-and this resulted in them gaining special powers. And it seems to me like Entei specifically was chosen to be something like Ho-Oh’s avatar on earth, because it’s the only one of the three that shares a typing with Ho-Oh (Fire).
Ho-Oh, of course, is a top-tier legendary, but I’ve never seen it talked about as having a connection to the creation of the Pokémon world like people talk about Mew, Groudon, Kyogre, Rayquaza, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Arceus, Uxie, Mesprit, Azelf, Xerneas, and Yveltal. But I recently learned about all the evidence pointing to Ho-Oh representing the sun itself, and life on earth couldn’t exist without the sun, so I think Ho-Oh must have been involved with Arceus on the same level as Pokémon like Palkia, Kyogre, Rayquaza, and Xerneas.
What I’m thinking now is that, since Ho-Oh has an association with Arceus, and Entei might be tasked with doing some things for Ho-Oh on earth, Entei may also deal with some things on earth for Arceus, including the Unown. But I don’t think the Unown are the “thousand arms” of Arceus.
Aren’t biblical angels and Lovecraftian abominations and stuff described as having thousands of eyes? Well, the Unown aren’t shaped like arms, and the only feature they have that’s recognizable as a particular body part are their eyes. So, I think that what the Unown actually are is the thousand or so _eyes_ of Arceus, rather than arms.
Also, the sun is associated with the concept of life being renewed, because it’s associated with the changing of the seasons leading to the days ceasing their shortening and growing longer and eventually bringing spring back. So, Ho-Oh being able to revive the dead makes sense to me.
Entei and the unown were the central points in one of the movies. That is where the connection comes from.

There’s a possibility that it could be referring to an island off of the coast of Guyana, but as far as I know there aren’t many
paradox pokemon are not past or future forms, they are from different dimension, it was explained in dlc

@@genericgamer9910all of it. The islands just come off as eerie or strange. It’s like they wanted a johto region (even orange islands) similar to kanto in gen 2 but ran out of time or scrapped the idea and in the remains we got the sevii islands. The fact that in the sevii islands there are smaller islands where legendary powerful pokemon like mew, deoxys, lugia, ho oh all hide there it just causes so many questions. The emptiness of the islands the trainers and npc’s are kinda off too. The crystal onyx. The hypno kidnapping, the biker gang. Let’s not forget the islands are never mentioned again or referenced. Like there’s a sense of unfinishedness in the islands and It just baffles me
