I bought this mixer after watching your review. Having owned it now for around 6 months I can say it is fantastic in every way. My minor worries about this and that were iliminated once I used the mixer. Beautiful, smooth, quality. Im in awe. Thanks for your excellent review. Im in Newcastle too!
Hello from Poland. I bought this mixer 3 months ago. I hesitated between the Pioneer 750 and the PX5, I chose the PX5 because it has the support of Traktor, and I don't regret it because it sounds beautiful and works great with Traktor.
To be honest, I bought it online in one of the largest Polish stores, I had never dealt with these two models in person before, but during a conversation with a customer advisor, when I said that I was hesitating between PX5 and 750, the man laughed and told me to even he didn't wonder because there's nothing to compare, the PX5 sounds much better and has the warm analog sound known from the XONE series, and the 750 is fully digital and you can hear it. He said that if I don't like it, I should send it back and he will send me the 750 ( but it will surprise him) But I chose PX5 and I don't regret it - the mixer plays beautifully. I come from a small town in the province and I didn't feel like going to Wrocław to listen to their music live. Regards@@mariuseugenpopa5904
Wavering between the px5 and the 92 with perviously owning a 32 and 62 for all my dj life. After this review you certainly made up my decision. when I received my px5 I was over the moon absolutely amazing mixer and build like a tank like there previous models. Only thing I’ve missed is the 4band eq. But I quickly adjusted to the 3band. If they kept the 4band eq on this mixer and two filters this would truly be the best Allen and heath mixer ever made. Thanks again for you reviews big ups!! 👊🏻
Would be a perfect mixer with a second VCF filter, combining the best of the 92 and DB4 features. If I have to choose, I'm likely to prefer having two VCF than the buit-in effects. Hope to see that upgrade on a future model.
Lovely looking mixer but I've had nothing but trouble with mine, the first 11 months it was fine but then all of a sudden it stopped working so i sent it back to Allen & Heath. They advised there was soldering issues from when it was made. They sent it back but didn't package it properly so I got it back with a broken cross fader and metal work damage, so i sent it back to them. They have had it for over 2 months now, I posted it back on the 3rd January and it's now March. They advised it could be 12 weeks for the metal work to be replaced and they are still waiting on the fader. I do not trust A&H now, a brand that I had a lot of loyalty too, but when things go wrong they really go wrong.
You're right, the Xone 22, 23, 43, and PX5 have the same basic internal construction. The PX5 is like the 43 but a little better. The Xone 92 has a completely different internal construction. On the market, there aren't many good club mixers anymore. The Xone 92, Model 1 or 1.4, and Pioneer are the only ones. Other mixers like Reloop, Beringher, etc. are bad. All other mixers like rotary are not conventional DJ mixers. I'm still okay with my Ecler NUO 2.0. I hope Ecler will release a new mixer like the WARM 4 but with faders.
I would love to see a review of the 92 - always good to see the latest in digital, but would be interesting to see a modern look at the 92s capabilities
If MoJaxx is referring to the the db4 and db2 as not having bpm settings, they have had manual bpm settings at least since some of the early firmware updates. You can set the BPM range to MIDI lock and then dial in the bpm in MIDI settings.
Excellent review yet again. Just in the process of buying some old 1200s (again) and dusting off my vinyl collection and was looking for a decent sounding analogue partner with some subtle effects built in (the Traktor compatability is a bonus too). Looks like I've found it. Your reviews on here have been a massive help... many thanks.
@@Charliegeee1 The XONE filter affects all activated channels in the same way. If you definitely want to use two filters on the PX5, you can solve it by using the xone filter and pulling down the effect from the double effects and only using the filter of the effect on the channel you set the effect to. The effect filter does not sound as good as the xone filter.
Hi, great review. Does this mixer have master cue like the pioneers do? I mix mostly at night through headphones and im not a fan of split cue so master cue is very important. Thanks
YouTob Hi! The sound is similar, I've had it just before it and it sounds the same, but the balance in the eq is much better. Before the 43c I had a Nxs2, and I will also say that the Pioneer sounds louder, but not better. The effects are correct on the Px5, especially the reverb.
Bro, your channel is great, I just have one advice. Please stop using dip to white transition, because it hurts on eyes.Especially when watch at night. There is nothing bad in simple old cut. Regards and keep the good work!
So a 2023 take. If you want the onboard FX, don't bother. They are not as gratifying in sound or fun as a DJM. It's really a shame because the mixer still ticks most modern boxes plus some. The Audio card sounds fantastic, flexible routing and easy to use. So you CAN use a computer for Send/Return FX!! The analog audio portion sounds FANTASTIC and the phono-pre amps sound warm. The MIDI out is GREAT if you are a DJ that relies on it. The internal clock works great in tandem with beat detection and you can also thru the MIDI clock from software via USB. A great sounding mixer with modern still all over it!
Hi mate! 9:17 so you mean for scratch is not that good because the crossfader cut is way to far? Cant you adjust in the software or in Traktor? Thank you for any info. Cheers!

Great mixer, just a shame the crossfader is one of the worst I've ever used ! The 2 blend/transistion settings for the crossfader are terrible ! And when you buy a Innofader Pro2 to upgrade, you find out the 004-892JIT mini adapter board to connect the crossfader to the mixer is not sold with the Pro2 Innofader !!!! I have one. Everything is pretty cool BUT, after less than 6 months the rca master out burnt and ruined the digital interface out not being able to use the rca record out and 9/10 channels for traktor internal recording. :(
I’m interested in your opinion on the xone92 cross fader, I’ve seen you mention it a few times which is understandable. I have literally just bought a 92 and the cross fader is near dead cut with no travel so I wonder if later models had an upgraded fader fitted? Who knows... just thought that this was interesting to mention
Might be the curve preset, you can change it to see if it fits better for you. If not, just replace the fader for an Innofader, no need to replace that amazing mixer unit.
96 is better. 4 band eq and feel of the 92 , with 2 filters, 2x sound cards and loads of routing possibilitys to byo effects! And! Mini inner fader which is adjustable out the box 😉 chicka wahhhh
