    It’s patch 15.0, and I’m still farming artifacts for Dainsleif. Ever since 7-star artifacts came out that go all the way to +28, and 3 new stats introduced, artifact farming has been quite a chore. I’ve finished leveling him and his weapon to level 200 many months ago, and he’s finally been 50-crowned, thank goodness I saved a bunch of crowns from 1.0, a decade and a half ago. But now I need one more Primordial Eggshell, to finally get all 5 talents to max level. As a low spender, it took way too many reruns on the Chronicle and Galaxy banners to finally get C10 and R10, as well as the K10 pet. Back to the RNG artifacts: now that weapons and pets can equip artifacts, having 25 7-star artifacts at level 28 each (not to mention all 6 substats and their 24 sub-substats) is hundreds of layers of RNG, at least they added a re-roll system, which increases the chance to hit specific substats of your choosing by 5%. Resin is still capped at 160. Even though my Dainsleif is top 3% on Akasha, my Ultra-Superbloom team that uses Xiangling (using The Catch) does more damage. Not that any of it matters, since there’s no difficult endgame combat content.

      @@yuosufsarayjee6365 it’s harder to get EM in the future because they removed the feature to not roll two of the same substat. now you can roll a physical goblet with all flat defense substats! this is realy good for the upcoming defense scaling physical dps

      If Ascension 7 passive is something that doesnt exist on character cons yet then i can see
      1. Yelan adding defensive utility
      2. Furina having faster hydro app
      This is the boring options though, i hope lvl 100 will straight up add a new skills/entirely revamp a skill like for example
      1. Klee can hold her CA to charge and make it deal more dmg, like heizou's E
      2. Yoimiya's CA fireworks become a usable mechanic with good damage etc

      For people who want to show love for their characters. Fgo has a feature in which you can use an item called holy grail, which allow you to ascend character level furthrr their limit. 100 is the initial limit, and you can upgrade until lvl 120 using other currency called coins. People use a lot of grail and "mora" to upgrade their beloved character. Even if they are 1* (which are lvl capped to lv 50 or 60)
      Important, this increases their hp and atk stat, and are not tied to math like genshin's reaction system.
      If you are fine with lvl 90 char, you are good to go. Is fun having features like this (my xianling is eating good books if this happens)

    hope that with a7 traces, they finally buff amber by displaying her mastery over both fire and arrows, Amber sends a Pyronado whirling around her. The Pyronado will move with your character for the ability's duration, dealing Pyro DMG to all opponents in its path.

    If this somehow is true I think it will require a lot of resources and I don't believe hoyo will care about adding new passives or improving the ascension stats of all the characters in this game.

      There's a lot of ifs and maybes. One thing we can ask is, WHY?
      They don't gain anything, just making more levels. But this allows infinite possibilities that can change the whole game.
      I can see they are going through that to make a rebalance in the older chars. It's something they did in hi3rd for some chars. And it serves a purpose.
      Unless they just make that limit exclusive for traveller to imply an arc training. Exclusive for natlan chars to sell more on gacha. Limited as some temporary bonus in some event...

      They could easily fix characters like Cyno, Yoimiya, Itto and Xiao by adding an ascension passive that allows them to keep their infusion. But yeah, the resources will be a massive pain unless they introduce another 1-2 world levels with higher rewards.
      Also, they're expanding the resin cap to 200 in 4.7, that's also a possible way to prepare resources for us all.

    I hate the the speculation that lvl 100 will not bring any new abilities or adjustment to charechter and will just be a stat bonus
    I hate that speculation because its so close to being true, i do not trust the gameplay desing team of genshin they will find a way to fuck it up and i hope i am wrong and they actuall pull it off

      I think just the bland lvl cap makes no sense. They don't get anything by doing that. We already have a resin sink, and no one needs to be stronger in open world.
      If they wanted to make abyss easier, they wouldn't keep breaking the hp record of the enemies.
      Rebalance is the only logical solution apart of something very limited like a bonus for an event, or limited to only traveler for story purposes...

I still play it, and will continue to play for the story, but I've been playing abyss over and over since 1.0, it's not a challenge anymore, and I have dozens of characters maxed. I would appreciate if they shake the meta with new passives and team possibilities.

      @@pontoancoraYeah I second rebalancing. They have a monetary reason to do it as well since reruns are starting to get laughably low income and it would give incentive to actually pull for older characters they don't have if they are suddenly useable again.

    Keeping my expectations really low, to increase the chance of it being just whelming instead of underwhelming.
    Let's just say:
    - 90 to 100 will be twice as expensive as 80 to 90 and it'll cost at least one crown to ascend;
    - alternatively, it will cost a new and extremely limited resource that's event/time gated for extra fomo;
    - transformative reactions' base damage will increase by 20% or less;
    - floor 12 enemies will cap at level 120 and their HP will scale 15% (or more) faster than the current formula;
    - talents cap at lvl 11 (14 with cons) and will cost 2 crowns to go from 10 to 11;
    - no new ascension passives;
    - no extra ascension stats;
    - same acquaint fates (but they'll be THE most expensive acquainties you'll ever acquire);
    - no cap increase for weapons
    - no new world level;
    - no new artifact levels;
    - Traveller's ascension materials will come from the archon quests, divided over three patches;
    - Sigewinne's birthday will be added;
    There, anything I get wrong will probably be a win, and warrant a "that's nice I guess". Mama's feeling optimistic with her pessimism tonight.

      i honestly feel this 😭 if hoyo’s told us anything it’s that their go-to is the absolute bare minimum. i hope WuWa continues to scare them into giving us a bit more until the worst designed elements of genshin are…somewhat more acceptable.

    i doubt they're actually increasing the level cap. i think it's more likely there'll be a buff in the new game mode that increases character level by 10, similar to events that increase talent levels. the talent level cap is 15, but there's no real way to reach that outside of event buffs + someone with a passive like childe

      What would the point of such a buff in an event be? The only reason I could think of to do such a thing is if Hoyoverse wanted to essentially alpha test the concept of raising characters to 100 just to see what would be most broken due to it.

      @@Axterix13 the talent level increase was for a combat event, labyrinth warriors. it was basically like simulated universe in hsr, where you continuously pick up small buffs and fight an enhanced boss at the end. obviously since the enemy's buffed, players are also gonna get buffed, same as abyss.

    I just hope they nerf the amount of books required to lvl 100 then.. It takes insane amount of books to get one from 80-90.. Also increase the number boss mats we get

      It is relatively safe to assume we'd get WL9 and maybe 10 out of it, which would boost the amount of xp books we get from Leylines, as well as ascension mat bosses (but those would probably just go to 3, with a rare 4th, while we'd need 40+ because, well, Genshin). But yes, they'd also need to give us a higher level version of talent book and weapon mat domains.

      ​i think they will simply add five star character level up mats, a new whole tier I mean. If the green ones give 1k exp, the blue ones give 5k and the purple ones give 20k then we could assume the gold ones can give anywhere from 50k up to 100k

      Honestly I hope if they do it you use a different recourse to "ascend them beyond", something that takes them straight to 100 that we get like 1 or 2 of a patch.

    If true, this is a very important moment for genshin, it can be a so needed balance patch we ask for so many underwhelming caracters, and a chance to have more difficult content, maybe even abyss 13??

      I doubt they will add the 13th floor cuz there already will be the second type of abyss in 4.7
      At least they won't do it so soon after the second abyss. Obviously they hold up some features till the empty patches (with no new map, new heroes etc)

      This could also break the game and make stronger character stronger and weaker character weaker relative to the stronger ones. Imagine if you give a new banger ascension passive to Neuvillette and shitty one to like Albedo. What would be the point.

      4.7 will have one of the single worst limited 5* since the game release.

    adding an A7 would be amazing to some characters that are not as strong now (Yoimiya for example)
    And obviously they can give simple utility ones to characters already very strong like Neuvillette

      I like how you specifically chose Yoimiya, who is decent, over someone unused outside of their C4, Klee. My Yoimiya only has C1 but she outputs the same damage as Arlecchino. Both have their weapons. Yoimiya's problem would be difficult to fix with a new talent since the talent would have to make her current talents work better. And it likely wouldn't fix her constellations, which are all mid. All of them.

    A friend of mine who works in game development once told me that "Depending on the games' coding structure, it is sometimes better to add in all the main features of a game first, and then balance/optimize it. Which is why games that release early is usually never a good thing." Taking this thought in my head, I honestly think Hoyo will eventually add in lvl 100 to a lot of things, just not yet. I was already under the assumption we'll get a bunch of things sometime at or after we get all elements. Heck, if we get a seventh/eight element, that could work too. By then we might get new features that would make it easier to invest into characters for even the newer players by then.

    If they just add more player lvl cap AND enemies lvl cap i don’t think we need it as it is redundant. That’s basically adding more farming with no benefit but punishes you if u don’t. *BUT if unlocking lvl 100 giving new passive* to the character this is game changer, they could use this to balance character or giving buff to underused character. For example: Noelle, skill cooldown reduced by 3 seconds if hitting enemy. Qiqi E restore 2 energy to Qiqi everytime it hits and give 1 stack of 5%crit dmg to the active character, both max out 5 stacks. Klee Q doesn’t disappear when Klee leaves the battle, but damage is reduced by half. Etc.

      I also like it because it's a great way to implement diminishing returns. You can relatively quickly build a character that is useable. But players that wish to invest into their favorites always have something to improve. And yes, the randomness keeps it exciting. I hate farming when I already know the outcome, I just need to do this for X amount of days and then I will have it. It's boring.

    I'm expecting level 100 to be more of a capstone feature for your favorite characters rather than an extension of the current level system. More of a "prestige" mechanic found in other games. Perhaps its tied to a weekly or monthly domain or something that if you beat it with that character they reach level 100. As for what it actually does I'm personally expecting just more stats.

    the only way i can see a lv100 increase, is if the AR goes up to a new tier where the drop rates are doubled... and this is so unlikely that it's not happening.
    the other way this could be possible is by making the final strech from 90-100 and their relevant systems (weapons, talents,etc...) have NEW unique materials that can only be used on that final run.
    because as a day 1 player, i have no crowns, and if leveling a character's talents from 10 to 12 requires 1/2 per talent, i'll never supercrown anything.

      I don't think they will change talents. Lvl10 and crown are very perfect to change.

      @@lucasayabe Interestingly, they'll have to do that eventually because most crowns come from events. Regions have 2-3 crowns only. So newer players can't really crown their characters. So it could be this actually.

    Bennett's base atk would go up, but only by 13 atk lmao.
    I can't remember what it is but someone brought up an even more interesting point than lazy Mihoyo on why they wouldn't. It was really compelling but I just read it in a random Reddit thread, said oh shit to myself, but forgot. But even if they did, I can only imagine they'd use some form of special form of leveling up the final 10. Like new, possibly universal resources. I can't imagine, like, new Talent levels though. What they'd do for that.

    Im hoping that the level 100 thing is a gradual rollout if we are gonna get new acrnsion passives. I see it as a way to make older characters better. Perhaps they could start with the original standard characters, Kaeya, Lisa, Amber, Traveller ect. Its how most gacha games do the character revamps. Otherwise i see no reason for level 100

    Yeah the main reason why I don’t think it’s gonna happen, or at least make a significant change, is bc the last thing the game balance need is stronger Hyperbloom and Neuvillette (EM and HP scalers). They already dunk on anything remotely difficult, especially Neuvillette.
    Adding a new passive sounds nice, but it sounds risky for them to change existing kits. I don’t think they’re gonna change characters that ppl already pulled for

    It would make sense alone from its Lore, atm there are many really strong chars in game we never met and the traveler most likely has no chance in beating them since they struggle at a 4th Harbringer and need help with alot of other bosses. Knowing Hoyo i can also see some bigger plan behind then just Level 100 to waste our resources. Honestly after 4 years of same gameplay except Dendro it would be nice to get something different and this also kinda fits since dendro will be 2 years after they released it after the game run 2 years alrdy. We will see.

    i think this change would be a net positive. realistically they'd SLIGHTLY up the amount of resources you can naturally get by playing every patch which would be good for all players, even those not looking to invest into a fully maxed out lvl100 character. adding new passives would be such an amazing change, and it means that the game might finally give some more focus to challenging combat content. considering natlan is the nation of war, this also makes sense thematically but yeah it'd be cool

      You should stop, we all know this type of hoping never happens in genshin. You'd be better off thinking they'd do this in HSR.
      It's just a rehashed timesink.
      Because if lvls go to 100, then weapons would have to aswell. An world lvl, an enemy lvl. An talents.
      They'd have to add one to two new passives by proxy.
      An since we all know how stingy an slow genshin is with big change, no way they overhaul the game like this. Too much like right an too much "work".

    I really hope not. Just gives them an excuse to scale enemy stats and force us to waste more time and resources to keep up. I find it satisfying to have characters finally built.
    Really sceptical we'd get new passives for EVERY character, so it's just artificial gameplay, and an empty time sink if it's true.

I don't have every character, but of those that I do have, almost all of them are maxed out. so just to give myself something to do when I play this game I started levelling every weapon I have regardless of rarity; from the strongest 5star to the weakest 1star. and imo levelling characters will be far easier than trying to farm "good" artifacts ad nauseam.

    An interesting but unlikely thing they could do is change how much each character scales for all individually to kinda level the playing field? Because a lot of older characters (with some very stront exceptions of course) kinda fall flat compared to the insanely strong recent characters like Arle and Neuvillette. That's not to say that older characters can't match that, it's just a lot more difficult. Idk, it'd be a very interesting move. But incredibly unlikely since it would hurt their bottom line.

    For attack scaling characters, I don't think it is quite right to assume they gain less, because of one thing: weapons will likely level to 100 as well, and weapon damage is part of that base attack factor. So if you're talking about raising the cap to 100 overall, that needs to be taken into account. Now, will you want to raise an atk scaler before you raise an HP scaler? Probably not. But you will be raising the weapons, and once you have a raised weapon and raised character...

    In my opinion, this will happen sooner than later, maybe around Snezhnaya. The clues already been given out, such as enemies actually having level 100, or more close to home is the talent capped at 15 not 13 with cons. Will be very exciting to see new passives as well!

    From calcs I did with somewhat realistic assumptions, it would take me around 9 months of resin lvl all my leveled characters (≈32) from 90 to 100 (a bit less because you get ressources from new areas, events and daily activities but still and I didn't think about talent levels but if didn't require like hundreds of crowns, it would probably take like 1 or 2 more years

      This is the same argument people made in the first 1-2 years. You had to "focus on leveling your DPS" and everyone was only leveling supports to like 70. Then people wised up and stopped listening to the "farm artifacts" and nothing else crowd, leveled the characters, and things drastically changed within months. This is once again just a bunch of people that have been doing things a certain way and don't want change even though what they've been doing is BORING. They've wasted SO much resin on artifacts over the years.

      I think it's not a question of how to spend your resin but that people will struggle to find enough resin to level their characters and talents, so no one will be able to farm artifacts unless they only ever play 2 teams of 4 characters ever never pull or level others units

    They COULD make a level up materials squish so it takes about the same amount of materials to level up to 100 as it takes to level up to 90 now. I believe they did something similar with Adventure Level a while back so it takes less experience to level up, so it is not like this concept is new to Hoyo.

      They definitely could, I find it more likely that leveling from 90-100 will not be exponential and cost 3 mil mora + 300 heros wits (around double it takes from 80 to 90).
      Maybe increasing the battle pass stuff so they can sell more. My theory is that they started noticing that older players don't buy as many battle passes because they have everything maxed.

      @@pontoancora WL 9 should be a gauranteed 3 boss materials. They're actually screwing us out of some drop % since boss drop rate doesn't increase from 7 to 8, it stays the same. We should have a 75% chance of 3 items, but it stayed at 55% just like WL7.

    If u read constellation 3 and 5 of any charecter it mentions talent lvl 15. So I always expected the character lvls to be increased at some point

      A couple of past events actually have increased skill and burst levels by 2 already, which made most of the community at the time accept that level 15 cap was meant for events like those.

    A level cap increase would necessarily come with a World Level increase, which in turn would HAVE to come with increased drop rates from leylines and higher tiers for domains. It's not like the current progression rate would stay the same.

    What I would have liked is they add 1 extra world level, making overworld enemies have the same lvl as Abyss enemies, but without increasing the character level cap.

    I hope not, I hate grinding in this game, I just want to play the most challenginng content without feeling like I need to spend hundreds of hours to level up the wide variety of characters I enjoy playing. I’ve already passed on some fun characters because I don’t want to spend weeks grinding them up to 90.

    Not to sound like a broken record (because I've been saying this for a couple of months at this point) I think they'll add A7 passives when they raise the cap to 100. For one thing, it follows the pattern of: A1, nothing, nothing, A4, nothing, nothing, A7. But it will also allow them to 1) balance everything AND 2) breathe life into underselling units. Imagine how many people would clamor to C6 their Kaveh if he was suddenly a dendro Faruzan!
    But that's been a running theory of mine for a while. Having said that, I expected it to come out with (or after) 6.0, so I think the whole leak is a bit suspect. Unless they're betting on stealing people back from WW after the 4.8 wind-down patch that peeps kinda leave for anyway. No harm, no foul style...

    I have over 40 characters at level 90. Leveling them up again is going to be a pain. Additionally increase in levels is going to bring back the same treadmill I ran away from by leaving MMORPG. It's a great plus of Genshin that if a character is geared and leveled to be endgame viable, they are going to be years later.

    If upon getting to last ascension level characters receive new passive talents its perfect opportunity for Hoyo to balance their game and please mains of niche characters,by giving weaker units like Xinyan,Dehya and Qiqi strong game changing passives(just huge damage increase,something that makes them more comfortable to play, or something that completly shifts their playstyle into different niche) while stronger units new talents are much weaker in comprassion(4%-10% dmg increase) or give them possibility to be used in different role(perhaps talent that encourages off-fielder emblem Navia or talent that gives Fischls electro infusion which allows her to be decent on-fielder,or maybe even talent that allows niche buffers like Gorou to be used in other teams outside of mono geo)

    Bennett's A7 Passive has been leaked and it's actually the perfect Ascension Talent for him:
    When Bennett uses his Skill or Burst, he instantly dies.
    FINALLY there is a reason to actually use him in any meaningful capacity. Hell he might quickly become my new most favourite character with this passive. Such an awesome passive, and it's also lore appropriate. It's beautiful.

    If they do it they'll either have to give us way WAY more XP mats and just every mat (I really don't wanna run around the entire world every 3 days collecting 100s of flowers and the like for months) or they'll just use new mats. Maybe a new world level that changes up enemy spawns with new gimmicks to drop some generic super crystal that can be used on certain character types, by region maybe. That would be a bit of work for them though, so probably not.

    i think if it happens (will eventually imo bcs why does lvl 15 talent exist otherwise) they will certainly raise enemy level, but I also think maybe they will raise World Level as well which would give you better drops to make the new farming less painful - which is something I have been asking for. Getting a standard fate (or maybe two wow) for ascending each char could be enticing for tryhards (like me) as well. I think this has potential, I don't think it is something they wouldn't do.

    all they need to do is combat overhaul. and net code approach. a semi online PvE content doesnt need to submit and feedback reaction with numbers on every hit. also char swap, like they do in HSR and Wuwa actually handled it pretty well. ping could be spiking or my connection would interrupt and the game just pauses. in some scenario my wifi signal to be unstable and no kicked session to login state

    Them adding new passives sounds cool in paper but in reality they will just make 5stars waaaaay better than the 4 stars. Part of genshin's charm over other gacha games is how with any unit you love with good investment you can achieve great highs, like seriously people have solod the abyss with amber.

      It depends on how they're designed, because if all the passives would be an extra stat charge for example (like gain 200em for free), they can just balance the numbers to make the characters being more or less the same they're now, even distributing broken passives to shit characters to balance their numbers while using passives that don't do almost nothing for the already good ones.

    the real problem with lvl 100 is that some of us never lvled characters past 80, do full asscencion and leave them at 80 and whatever levels they get during exploration and stuff (some are 86 by now, and i play pretty much since release lol)

    If they actually do add level 100 and more talent levels.
    They need to seriously give out more crowns and better drops for stuff like talent books and weekly bosses.
    2 or 3 weekly boss mats a week if you're lucky (since we can't farm the same boss again in the same week like in HSR) when it already costs 2 drops at talent levels 9 and 10 is pretty rough.
    Crowns also only drop from events and sometimes the fountain/statue equivalents rather than stuff like the monthly shop or BP so that's also kinda rough if they'll continue requiring them for talents 11 and 12.
    I don't even wanna talk about how dogwater talent book drops are even with condensed resin.
    And the amount of local specialties you'd need to max a character out would be even more of a yikes than it already is.

    A good idea I can muster is, that you don't actually level a character... but you "ascend" a slot in your party, a character that is at lv 90 in this slot (that you can move around if you like) will benefit from a new system of buffs that you can "calibrate" to your liking, same thing like buffs that you get on events (increased attack, +1 skill talent, increased skill duration or burst etc.) They can just add a new set of items to unlock these passives, for this slot. Bigger capacity for more buffs and improving them.
    This way the balance they made with level scaling regarding Mora and Exp is kept, and these slots can be increase on later versions, even giving it something interesting later on like, once you have 2 ascended slots if both characters are of the same element you get an improved resonance.
    Cause a whole new passive and rescaling seems too volatile, regardless of the idea of hoyo being "lazy", the dev team is more focused on finishing Teyvat, it may be more pausible once every region is fully develop and they now have the decision to move to a new continent (big F for low storage players) or make what they have already done, more replayable and further develop more characters of the current regions.

    I guess it was inevidable from the start, like come on max skill lvl was 15. I personaly think it'll hapen later in the story like at the end of 7-nations questline (6.0 Snezhnaya or 7.0 Kaenriah patch). At least the'll introduce higher difficulty for artifact dungeons which mean more artifacts per run.

    They would need to give the character a seperate ascension stat equal to a level 90 max ascension stat , extra level on all the talents , a new passive and possibly 2 new constellations to make it worth farming.
    If not the resources vwould be better spent getting a brand new character to lv 80

    Ngl I don't mind taking more time to farm for character mats since farming artifacts is kinda annoying, as long as they level increases give sizable increases and new skills/passives

    I would trade farming for artifacts to farming materials in a heartbeat.
    I'd rather build all my characters and make some new teams than spend months in frustration of a mathematically and statistically impossible ordeal of farming for a perfect artifact substat set.
    Imagine been stuck farming vermillion for years. Oh wait you don't need to, just tune in to any Zyox stream.

    I am hoping they do something with delusions. So the level 90 ascension is to unlock a characters delusion, which could potentially be a completely different element or approach for that character.
    Lock it behind a delusion energy meter or other trigger condition, that then let's you have electro childe.
    Nahida gets a delusion that is only usable when she is pyro infused. Or venti can become cryo when bond of life exceeds current HP.

      That's interesting but what about narrative design? It would make sense only for Childe, Wanderer and Arlecchino. Or...
      If Tsaritsa will become an ally for the main character, if the visions holders do not mind, and if the delusions do not harm life. It would be tricky to perform but it would be an interesting decision

    Artifact farming is so time consuming, that adding 10 more levels to EVERY character will basically break the game, unless you are ok with half-assed artifacts.
    Ff they increase the enemies numbers too, it's gg for "endgame".

    Every con that increase the level of talents lists the maximum talent level to be 15 and given that childe increase the basic attack talent level by 1 and assuming we gonna get characters that will increase the skill and burst talent level by 1 it's safe to say we gonna get a single talent level upgrade to make it look like this
    Max talent level without cons
    10 -> 11
    Max talent level with cons
    13 -> 14
    Max talent level with cons and character passive
    14 -> 15

    They need to impelement Skill Tree System on this game so older characters would have alternative skills.. that would help spice things up and/or revitalize the game a bit..
    They could do 2 (or more) alternatives for E skill and burst.. one would be f2p which we would need to farm stuff and complete quests to get it, while they could do paid stuff for the other to unlock..
    The skills doesn't need to drastically change..
    Example:
    Dilluc
    His E, instead of 3 instances of damage could be just 1 big hit..
    His burst, instead of the phoenix horizontal slash it could be and rising bird that knocks oponents upwards
    Something like that..

    Level increase would suck. It doesn't add anything meaningful, just more grind. A new passive would be cool tho assuming it's fancy and not just a basic damage buff.

    I can see them putting some enhancement item (basically constellation on steroid) on some special banner that allows to level some few select old characters to lvl 100 as a way to rebalance them, straight up lvl 100 across the board sounds meaningless

    If it’s only lvl100, it’s good for HP and Defense scalers. If they add another ascension passive, then it’s huge.

    I'd be suprised if they do it, but iirc the max talent lvl mentioned in-game is 15, right? so another ascension would leave it at that lvl 🤔

    i hope that they do this gradually, like 5 charcters at the time, so they can actually give them new pasives that make some of the garbage units playable.
